is followed by the sentence:

so mix up the letters..

I am Raiden Ma.

(ok I will stop... lol)

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Ah so its been confirmed this was "current gen" stuff, so most likely all from the same game. There is almost always a "Snakes captured" segment in MGS games after all.

This segment in the hospital will definitely explain Big Boss' penchant for picking up war orphans and those seriously fucked up by war patients for Outer Heaven in like MG1 and 2.

I am lolling at the people suggesting Chico becomes Psycho Mantis though, dude has way too much of a clear cut background for that to be retconned.

OMG Raikov confirmed!

Seeing as Kojima is trolling us, I will believe everything.

Just noticed raiden guy appears to be one of the troops without his gasmask, same clothes.

I think the point is that most elevators don't have both "G" and "1". I think Hanmik is on to something there.

In the UK they do, probably other non-U.S. places too. We count the ground floor as zero.

The person on the horse actually looks like the Volgin clone. Big guy with a gimp mask.

I hope that in this game, you play as Big Boss, and you'd travel around to recruit the MGS Fox Hound Units (the one under Liquid's command, e.g. Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven, etc)

Any more non-believers?

But but but we will look at this thread and laugh at how a new IP got shafted!

From Youtube: "All footage is shown running in real-time on hardware equivalent to current generation consoles (PS3 & XBOX360)."

FUUUUU-! Move it to next-gen and our minds shall be blown more!

I've figured it out. When the woman says "V has come to" she obviously referring to Vic Boss. She was influenced by Chico's accent since he was captured in Ground Zeros. Because of Amanda's death and the constant plug in of headphones in himself, he lost his sanity but began to unlock psychic powers because of previous exposure to radiation.

When Big Boss awakens in the hospital, Chico goes berserk, he is the kid in the elevator, he is Psycho Mantis. This is followed by all of Big Boss' hallucinations seen in the trailer.

I thought Psycho Mantis came from Russia or some other Eastern European country ? Can somebody confirm or deny ?

PP big boss looks younger than GZ big boss...

But wasn't it the lighting in that scene of the GZ trailer that makes him look old?
When he gets into the helicopter at the end of the demo, he looks strikingly similar to the 'PP Snake'.

Also, the fact that both trailers feature heavy use of lens flare is yet another giveaway that this Kojima.

I tried and failed, it's too small. Can't identify the map either, but it's an island and probably fictitious.

yeah, tried too.
However, i think MAYBE if it read KIO MARV you could at least tell it's a 3+4 letters name, then again maybe not.

I tried advancing frame by frame in the 1080p vid, but i can't really detect anything that wasn't already pointed out.

Well, i did notice the guy helping Amputated Snake has his crack always showing which i didn't notice before. But that doesn't really help, now, does it.

OK find another ingame GZ shot where he looks younger.

i think he looks the same in both trailers, the only difference being light being more or less harsh

My theory is that the GZ trailer is when Big Boss is infiltrating the base or whatever it is (this is when the "XOF" soldiers are removing their patches) and TPP trailer is after Big Boss had been captured and put into a coma. He appears younger because he's lost weight and his hair has been trimmed, and his hair appears brown because of the lighting like others have mentioned. This is also when you see more "XOF" soldiers without their patches killing everyone.

What's up with all the Big Boss games? Don't we like... already know everything about him? What's there to add? SOLDIER'S WORLD MAN

Nothing can be left up to the imagination. IT MUST ALL BE EXPLAINED, retcons all over this bitch.

The MGS3 ending was more than sufficient to know why would Big Boss turn.

Gathering of FOXHOUND team [raven, wolf, mantis, ocelot], growing up of Solid/Liquid, years when big boss trained Solid, MG1 events, rehabilition of BB after defeat, MG2 and his "final death" in a hand to hand battle agains his "son".

All from Big Boss prespective... FUCKING BRING IT KOJIMAAAAA! Also, prequel with WW2 Boss, and full MGS numbered game with Liquid before events of Shadow Moses.

We also need a 20 minute flashback detailing how his parents conceived him. And how his grandparents conceived them. And how his great-grandparents conceived them. The Big Boss legacy must be detailed in full.

We don't know why he went batshit loco and became a real villain.

He did not become a villain. In MGS4, he explains to Snake that he created both fortresses to amass an army to destroy Zero and the Patriots. Solid Snake had been unknowingly sent by the Patriots to take him out.

Yup. I want to see all of that. :)

I don't think Kojima has it in him to create something equally as ambitious and unique as the Metal Gear IP, and so, he will keep making trying to shoehorn in installments as long as he can. In fact, it took a mixture of many key developers ambitions coalescing in order for something like MGS to be made. It's not something that you can just manufacture with more money and time. It requires that genuine burning desire to show the world ones ideas. Something which I don't think Kojima really has anymore.

If only the industry was healthier, maybe Kojima Productions could help leverage funds and higher positions to new creators, instead of having to rely on the same old horse to carry them through year after year. This goes for everyone really though. In fact, Kojimas team continues to be pretty consistent with interesting settings and concepts, no matter how pandering and stale the actual games might turn out to be in the end.

Even so, I'm not expecting any new large IPs to come from them any time soon. The most I dare to hope for is that Enders Project happens, and that it sees at least some success. It looks pretty fresh at the concept stage, so I would hate to see it buried in favor for further additions to a series that has, in my eyes, already run its course since long ago.

The Kio Marv idea makes no damn sense, it's Drago Madnar if anyone from the universe.
http://mgs.natmal.net/en/enc/76

right, Marv is the one who discovered OILIX in MG2:SS, he is a biologist and has no business here.
Madnar on the other hand..

edit: forget about it, Grey Fox story was probably told in peace walker already.
i should play it sometimes.

EDIT2: Then again maybe not, so i'll write it again.
Grey Fox had his nose and ears cut during the mozambican civil war in 1977 and he was rescued by Big Boss (this should be after the events in portable ops)
He was in Rhodesia during the Rhodesian Civil War, and there are hints the game takes place in Rhodesia.
Could the wounded guy helping crippled snake be him, or was this story told already in one of the games i skipped ?

Oh man. I avoided the MSG universe like the plague for some reason until a few months ago when I got the HD Collection on Gamefly. At first, I HATED it and had to force myself to play Snake Eater, but by the end I was so engrossed with the whole story that I was hooked. Then I played MSG2 and felt like I was being punished the whole game, then was completely annoyed/mindfucked at the ending. LOVED Peace Walker. All of it. It was the only one that I immediately enjoyed it the whole way through. Now I'm pretty obsessed with the whole thing.

This thread is the best. I almost wanted to buy a PS3 just to play 4. I'm way more into the Boss/Big Boss story than Solid Snake's, though. I'm kind of amazed there hasn't been a remake of the original Metal Gear/Solid Snake done in the Solid style. I'd love for that to eventually happen. So weird that these 8 bit games are so integral to the overall story when the rest of the games are 3D and so much more advanced. It kind of seems like that is where it is all heading to me, but I would like to see what extremes Kojima can take the sequel/prequel/remake thing to. There will eventually be a prequel to a sequel of a remake of a prequel with two sequels and a prequel. And it will be so confusing and great.

I love this series and its wackiness, ridiculous details, and general WTFness. Though I don't really know what has happened in the story post MGS2 since I haven't played 4. What I've skimmed is that it got pretty wacky, even for the series.
