I would advice everybody to play MGS 3 HD over MGS 4. Just trust me.

I'm all about MGS. MGS4 was my GOTY.

MGS3 is the best gameplay the series has
MGS1 is fantastic for its pacing, gameplay and story
MGS2 is only really for fans
MGS4 is for the die hard story fans gameplay wise its pretty boring but the story is amazing

If you don't play Halo or Gears there really is no point in owning an Xbox.

Multiplatform games the majority of the time are better on the xbox. PC would be the best choice really but the Xbox has strong IP's

Forza
Gears
Halo

All pull big numbers.

I don't know what map we are playing on but it is awful. Couple it with design decisions like spawning people with camo and you've created another awful experience.

I tried to get the map pack for free, but it didn't work. :-(

But I just played a game of Infinity Slayer on Abandon and went +29. :)

I'm going full David Carradine reading these last 3 pages.

Someone check up on me in a few.

So fucking hard right now.

I just fucking lost it at work. Bravo, sir.

I've been wanting to play MGS4 for years, and Last of Us looks outstanding. Journey. Demon's Souls. Maybe BLOPS2 with my coworkers, and of course, the Destiny beta.

I'm going to investigate the cost of digital vs. disc before I buy any games, though. I picked up a 160GB 2nd gen for $230 because it fits in the GAEMS Vanguard. Yes, I bought the Vanguard.

MGS4 was amazing and the only thing worth while I really played on PS3 aside from KZ 2 and 3.

If they know framerate is such a problem these days with the 360 console's technical limitations, why don't they make more closed arena maps similar to Midship? That way you'll have a lot less "performance" issues. You'll also have a lot more good maps btw.

Just gotta disable that pesky sprint. Or you know, just try and make Midship a bit larger in scale.

Because they have to get mileage out of those rock and dirt textures.

But yeah.

Midship

The Pit
Sanctuary

I bought a PS3 at launch. I've played three games to completion, one of them being Motorstorm. The other Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 was boring. The third was Journey. Journey was good. Don't buy a PS3.

Ok....I hope your not serious and I'm missing the sarcasm in your post.

I would buy a PS3 simply for the Last of Us. Game looks incredible.

Did you try downloading from the in game marketplace link? I just booted the game up, hit the marketplace link on the menu and it asked me to confirm the purchase for 0 MS points.

The skybox on Harvest is just painful to look at. Really liking the green map though (surprisingly). Reminds me of something from C&C3 .

Splitscreen framerate, I just can't. I really want to play the game, new maps aren't that bad at all, but playing splitscreen on them just absolutely kills it for me. So disappointing :( Any large map in this game is just too much for 2 player splitscreen it seems. I can't even imagine how taxing it'd be on the game if you tried 3 or 4 players in it.

I'm really hoping we just get a ton of H2 remakes with the inevitable Halo 2 Anniversary with a nice "classic" Halo 2 style gametype/loadouts.

Basically, 343 did a great job with Halo Anniversary and I hope H2 gets the same treatment.

Non-lethal walkthrough, scrub.

MGS1 beat 7times even extreme

MGS2 beat like 10+times(definitely my favorite game-play wise.... only MGS game I 100% all dog tags...fuck vamp the second time, and really fuck fighting 25 MGS in a row.lol

MGS3...AMAZING Matserpiece... first and only play-through was stealth non-lethal..took me 27 hours to beat... but the real fuck me from the game was those goddamn green frogs... fuck them to oblivion... even got the one in the sidecar airport chase... nevea again... the end was just perfection..
for me I didn't realize you could look with R1 at the end when he was at the grave, I pressed it and looked down at the grave and it went to black like 2 seconds later... it was perfect timing was amazing
Also one of the dumbest things they did was not let me use my unlocks for a harder difficulty like in MGS2 one of the only reasons I was able to even beat MGS2 on extreme, so if I wanted to replay the game with them I had to play on the same difficulty...

MGS4 beat 7 times story was ridiculous but the game looked insane and the game-play was amazing....

There's no flow to the really fucking sunny one. Also it's really fucking sunny. The rocks on it are difficult and frustrating to jump up to the middle ridge thing. You can position yourself near an edge and the enemies can't shoot you, but if they get a good grenade, it tosses you off the map. Great spot for trolling with the ball.

The green one(I think that one was Shitter) has even less flow. Bases are campy. CA power weapons galore. Camo + Sniper ruins it. Frame lag up the wazoo.

Harvest is okay. Right now it suffers from bad gametypes. Ball on Harvest and KotH on Harvest aren't fun.

I was just complaining to Sai Kun about how bro spawning is spawning enemies on top of me in my own base because I'm fighting another enemy in CQC. Awful stuff.

The worst part is how the weight of bro spawning has really screwed up any form of coordinated attack. I remember an old strategy a few of my friends and I did on Valhalla where two people went Warthog through the water, I went through the caves, and a couple people positioned themselves top middle. One of them would intentionally die in the middle every 3 minutes, so he would respawn near the base and grab the Sniper and bring it back to the middle. It doesn't work anymore because it spawns the guy right by me in the caves. I'm attempting the same sneak strategies and being thwarted not by the enemy or my own stupidity, but because of the game. There is no such thing as sneaking any more. Waypoints killed it. Bro spawning killed it. Camo on spawn killed it.

I have yet to find a game this generation that can handle 4 player splitscreen. 4 player splitscreen for Halo 4 is just, NO.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Halo 2 are the splitscreen games that I play whenever the occasion needs such games.

Yup, Halo 4 would be a much smoother transition to Halo 2 settings/maps than Reach ever was to Halo 1.

My guess was that it was a tradeoff for performance and better quality everything else.

Expect them to return in Halo 5 though.

I haven't played h4 for a ~month but from the comments on here the performance is terrible and the MP really doesn't look that great relative to the campaign and even H3/reach. It's just done really poorly.

On the splash screen or whatever? That popped up for me, but I ignored it and went straight to the marketplace option in the main menu. Hope I didn't miss my chance, lol.

So after playing the maps for awhile, they're alright. Just way too big(all of them) for 6v6. Games still starting 4v5 etc...

I just want small maps back.

I would pay real world dollars for a classic BR skin.

I did pay real world dollars for the Arctic skin on ebay.

Only time I've ever done anything like that but it's my primary weapon and it looks badass.

So how are the maps? Should I buy them?
It's Halo. Of course. I would have preferred more variety in terms of art but the original Halo 4 maps were pretty damn nice design-wise so I expect these to be at least pretty good.

I agree, especially since we already have the BR. It would be awesome if they created a new all black BR skin.

Dual wielding is an interesting problem though.
It's not a problem at all, like a lot of the new mechanics added for the sake of a sequel dual-wielding was a mistake that was thankfully removed.

So, how do the maps play? Anything stand out that the videos didn't really show?

I mean, if you didnt have the season pass/le you can get it for free.

here comes the hate for breaking that.

Ouch, they really can't catch a break. Well, at least I know the maps will be up for me when Im home one way or another.

You're right - Halo 1 Anniversary just re-skinned the original game and then the multiplayer map remakes were played in the Reach engine. So if that was the scenario in H2:A it wouldn't be a problem at all.

I actually enjoyed dual wielding though. dat SMG sound

I told a friend about the glitch (we're in Canada) and he couldn't get them for free. May've been patched up by now.
