I just wanted to say that it's been a great year, and AnimeGAF has brought me much pleasure and entertainment. I can't believe that it's already New Year's Eve. This premise is really testing my suspension of disbelief.

Whats so unbelievable? That a girl would visit a total stranger like that or the way the guy lives?

I've been on sort of an anime binge the past few days; I wound up marathoning Simoun which was not bad. I feel like I missed a bonus episode just outlining what the fuck was going on in that war (I understood why there was a war, but only ever had a vague idea of who was winning at any given point), but I guess that might have actually been the point? To have the audience roughly as informed about the war as the characters. And the music and dancing didn't stop the ending from being one of the bleakest things I have ever seen.

Floe and Vura are conscripted to fight on opposing sides in a war between the two powers that joined forces to basically destroy their society and religion because Simulacrum wouldn't share the Simoun tech. The entire culture of their actual country is dying, and now they're going to end up dead in a stupid war that very well might end up destroying everyone they love, since now both sides will be fighting with Simoun tech. Aer and Neviril get to remain young and free forever as basically the dancing memory of a dead culture.

Hurray? At least the relationship chart is amusing.

I'm also halfway through Shiki, which is fun, but has the most inexplicably awful facial hair of all time.

Simoun is really fun.
Im about 7 episodes in and I love the world building so far.
The Simouns are really cheap cg but designed well.
I also find the gender swapping idea to be interesting.
Theres a chart for shiki hair.
