Couldn't 343 have just copied the helmet and removed the logo?

Nope because the helmet design was based on the helmet design of the Security Officer in Marathon. It would be like Halo suddenly introducing a gun with a chainsaw attached to it that looked vaguely like the Gears of War Lancer. Not saying Bungie would go after Microsoft for that. If anything it's just Microsoft not wanting to take a chance.

Nope, the helmet is blatantly the Marathon helmet.

Falls under copyright.

Now, they could do an "inspired by" kind of helmet.. but it'd be kind of pointless as the point of the helmet was a callback to Bungie's previous work. 343 doing it would be kind of hollow.

343 be trolling my dreams now. Had a dream where Krow and I won a bunch of stuff after having kayaked to some location. 2nd DLC for free, Oprah themed Armory items and a load of other stuff.

I woke up sad.

Security as it was in Halo 3 is practically a pilot helmet.

I don't think they'd have to worry about copyrights or anything of the sort, but they probably did want to separate themselves from any references made by Bungie. Or it was just another choice like cutting Mark V in favour of other helmets.

Also, keep in mind that they didn't include the Bungie logo anywhere in Anniversary.

I have no idea what the hell was going on there but I get the feeling even a casual reference from 343 to Bungie or the reverse is not in the cards when every company but Bungie gets their logo in the end credits of Anniversary, and Bungie's credits have the generic "Halo" logo above them.

(I just wanted a true widescreen HD version of this)

I was about to make a post about how I'm surprised 343 was able to use the old Splatter medal design:

But then when I went to the Bungie's trademark page I noticed the image wasn't there anymore. Am I crazy, or did Bungie own that logo at some point? Did 343 get that from them at some point like they did the Superintendent?

edit: The "Carnage Zone" sign is still on the Bungie Style Guide, though, Weird.

ROFLMAO. Oh shit man. That's one very screwed up dream. What kind of trippy shit did you drink, eat, or smoke before going to bed?

There is always a chance that intro will return with Destiny. So who knows you still could get to see a true widescreen HD version of that.

Was kinda bummed Chief's H4 armor wasn't unlockable. Care least for the Halo 2/3 version. Give me the cheesy OG classic or give me the sexy update.

I would probably buy that armor DLC as well as weapon skin DLC :x Only for Halo.

The one that still confuses me the most out of all of them is the Superintendent.

He went from being on that trademark page w/ merch and mentions by Staten that the Super might be a cross-universe character to disappearing, then showing up in the Anniversary DLC on Breakneck. Then nothing after that.

If you're someone on the outside looking in, it's like Bungie left with him and then Microsoft got visitation rights when the divorce finalized.

Aaaaaaaah I wish that could've happened. The Superintendent was so great in ODST considering how little there was to his characterization. I jsut loved that little guy so much. ;_;

And then remember we'll have this right before it.

That's going to be weird.

I'm ok with it. I don't hate Activision like some do. Not the largest COD fan but I do like the occasional COD and occasional Activision game.

That one could be in limbo while Bungie and MS work to figure out exactly who owns it. I can see how it could be a very tough one to clear up. Seeing as how he was used by both Bungie and Microsoft.

Level comparison I created. Forerunner too Fortress, pretty cool how just adding snow can change a map so much.

I for one support the idea of having weathered variants of maps in the future. And I'd still like to see Day/Night/whatever time variants, too. ODST did that with a couple Firefight maps. Loved that.

Does the thruster pack do anything at all?

I've got a feeling that it's not much more effective (if at all) than just moving yourself. Plus I noticed that if you use the thruster pack while moving, your current velocity slows down considerably (For example, if you sprint and jump, you'll go further than someone who sprints, jumps and uses thruster)... which doesn't make sense to me.

Man, I'm already getting separation sickness from this game, even though there's a lot of crap I don't like about it. I still love me some Halo.

It will essentially move you to cover a lot quicker, while messing up the enemies aim completely.

Default Thruster Pack isn't that useful, but it is decent.

You can use it to take the mancannons on Hanven to either the outer or inner bridge, or to launch yourself across Solace using the gravity lift. Tricks like that plus the ability to quickly dodge behing cover and thrown off your enemies' aim have made it my go-to for 3/5 loadouts. That and the fact that almost none of the other AAs appeal to me at all.

Yea I was really hoping for a Snow Valhalla and they should have made One of the other bigass maps with rocks either grass or desert instead of having all snow levels...so boring. So uninsipired, unimaginative and uncreative. Souless maps with big rocks. Everywhere, no layout just scattered rocks. No map flow.

I think I remember a vid showing that using it off ledges will make you fall faster, so there's that.

This is awesome, mostly because split views that match up like that are a pain in the ass to do. I did that once for a contest and even then it was slightly bullshitted:

Never even noticed that, but admittedly I haven't really sat and admired the levels at all in Campaign, even though I took my time on my first go, playing on Legendary solo.

Am I the only one that thinks camo shouldn't be an AA but an ordinance? It makes way more sense and you would't have those stupid ass camo campers.

Also who ever decided to put the Boltshot, PV, and JetPack in multiplayer should all be fired.

I think Camo should be completely absent in all forms. And yes, I don't like it in power-up form either.

Nah, Reach maps are at worse equal, and probably a little better overall. Higher highs, lower lows.

Halo 4 is pretty much just middling/boring across the board.
Hell no, anybody who defends Reach maps are delusional or suffers from battered wife syndrome. Out of the gate Halo 4 has more intresting maps, the problems is that everything else added to the game undermines it (Instant respawn, Ordnances).

For people that primarily play smaller scale Halo (4v4/5v5), I think you could make a case for the Reach maps simply because there were more appropriately 4v4 sized maps on the disc than there are in Halo 4.
