i want this to be good because i love sci-fi but his scripts are always his weakest tool and making it convoluted will probably make it worse

This sounds very interesting. I love media about time travel/alternate dimensions. Time Machine and The Butterfly Effect were examples of pretty good movies with related themes. And the anime series, Noein, dealt with alternate dimensions; it also had amazing fight scenes. At any rate, I'm ready for Nolan to wow me.

What I'm expecting is something like Primer, but on a much larger scale and with a much, much bigger budget.

The script is based on scientific theories developed by a Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, a gravitational physicist and astrophysicist at Caltech.

you had me at scientific theories. can't wait.

Maybe I'm late on this, but is there a specific reason why so many people here seem to have a hate-boner for TDKR? I'll admit it's not as good as most of Nolan's work (possibly his second-worst, above Batman Begins) - but it's still a great movie overall.

I have heard the name bounced around for a while now. But how much do we know about Interstellar other than its written by Johnathan Nolan and Spielberg was set to direct?

Why was it so delayed?

But most importantly when is it coming out!!?!!??!?!

Also I bet we get max 1-2 of the same actors from a previous movie but practically a brand new cast. Inception was all new outside of Caine, Murphy, and Wantanabe.

Well just speculating here but if this follows the schedule of the most recent Nolan releases, it will shoot this year (summer) into the winter (long 4-6 month shoot) with a release next summer.

That is if its further along than we think. If not then start filming early next year with a 2015 release.

Sooner the better. I get the feeling Nolan has shit in order in terms of scheduling and cast. Hasn't he always come in on time and under budget?

Plenty of time, most of Inception's cast didn't come together until Spring for 09 I think.

Yes, he has. Based on his previous track record, this'll be out next year, and we'll get footage of this movie by the end of this year.

This movie is going to cause a cess pit of a thread on gaf. Can you even imagine all the possible arguments?
