Still without luck
Just read this news and it cured my cold. My most anticipated film just changed in that instant.

(it didn't really cure my cold and my most anticipated movie was already 'Nolan's next one'.)

I had my hopes pinned on the possibility Nolan would do sci-fi with this insurgence of sci-fi in cinema we have at the moment. Movies are looking good these days.

This time, Nolan will go so far in practical effects that he'll create his own black hole in a Warner Bros. set.
What are you talking about? Dude can't even film a helicopter crashing into a swat truck without CGing the fuck out of it. Only the best directors can do that shit practically.

Too lazy to look through the thread. Who is the chick? That waist...my god.

So something like Inception in space. I hope he doesn't spend an hour of the movie just explaining the rules.

Sooo is this the same Interstellar that Spielberg has had on his "to do" list for the last 10 years?

I'm not really worried about Nolan picking a new DP. He knows his shit, and it's not like there isn't a range of talent both known and unknown for him to select from. What I think he needs to do though, is find a good second unit director for his action. Still needs work! :p

For a film like this he needs to find a better VFX Supervisor first.

Personally, I hope it's less Star Trek, and more Sunshine. So I still think he needs a better second unit director!
That doesn't make sense, duck! Star Trek is more actiony than Sunshine. Second unit director means heavier reliance on action. Sunshine has fantastic effects.

The entire third act of Sunshine is action! Lol. Star Trek uses a lot more ship to ship "action" which would be pure VFX. Oh wait, you're talking about Abrams Trek? I don't think anyone wants anything to be like that! It didn't even cross my mind! :p
