A comprehensive list of all the PS4/XboxNext games we know are coming

This seems alot like wishful thinking.

Since when was Destiny next gen? In the leaked report it was mentioned that it would be coming to the 360, than PS3 and PC. From what I understand it's sequel is supposed to be next gen.

An watch dogs? Ubisoft said it was for this gen last I recall.

Destiny will likely be a cross-generation title, much like Battlefield and CoD.

Ubisoft may have initially planned to release Watch_Dogs on current and next generation consoles, but I suspect they now plan to only release it on next gen hardware. I remember that a LinkedIn profile from a Ubisoft developer known to be working on the game claimed he was doing "modeling and textures" on a next gen title, if you need some form of proof.

If you watch the footage of Watch Dogs, it's pretty obvious it's not coming to current gen systems (at least not with lots of downgrades).

Where has it been posted that Watchdogs is actually a next gen game? All I see is a bunch of random speculation simply because too many people assume that the PC demo that's been shown is the console demo when it's not. The official Ubisoft statement is that it's for the 360, PS3 and PC.

It's pretty obvious that it's running on the PC. I can't believe any of you actually thought that was the console version being shown. Before I even knew what platforms it was being released on I thought "Must be the PC version", and it was. It's okay, you guys can keep on dreaming, and then return with excuses when you see the downgraded version that is actually the console version.

An object that big hanging over earth like that would so do some gravitational damage to that immediate area (in regards to the Destiny shots).

seems a lot of new IPs which screams for next gen consoles. and publishers will be all kinds of stupid if they don't release it for next gen with all the signs pointing to a nextbox fall 2013 release. cross platform is a possibility but not releasing these games for next gen seems like a missed opportunity

What? Where did you pull that idea from? The speculation is that its not a 2013 title so odds are it will be coming to next gen consoles. Sure, there may be 360 and PS3 versions coming but they wont look like that.

as already confirmed by Ubisoft, they are currently working on cross generation titles.

Watch Dogs will be the first cross generational game that I will avoid playing on PS3/360.

Far Cry 3 and AC3 pushed my tastes for current console performance over the edge.

None of those games appear to be 2013 ready... Yeah, I doubt next gen will happen this year. 2014 IMO.

You can add to Half-Life 3 that it's all but assured to be running on Source 2.

No. No more waiting.

No, no no. absolutely not. No.

No.

I don't see why so many people are in such a rush for this new generation.

New expensive consoles. Most likely rising dev costs. More studios will be shut down, possibly more publishers will shut down. Aside from the first few years of new console ip's, we'll probably see more publishers try to be safe and push sequel after sequel.

It's a bleak future in my opinion. I'm trying to stay in the present as long as I can.

What rush? ITS BEEN EIGHT YEARS.

What a bleak outlook you have. Yeah, I sure hate spending $500 on something I get probably thousands of hours of enjoyment out of over years. Rising costs? Only if devs are supid about it like they were for a chunk of this gen.

But hey, you also said VR wont be viable for another 15-20 years in the Rift thread.

1. Yes, it's been 8 years. But you can tell with games like The Last of Us, or Halo 4 (graphics wise) that developers are still managing to push the current gen tech farther and farther. I just feel that with old tech like what we have with the 360/PS3 give developers more reason to think outside of the box (in terms of game design) rather than just relying on pretty graphics to swoon us over.

2. Of course there will be rising costs. The average AAA game this generation costs 50-100 million to make (of course a large chunk of that costs is marketing and advertising). There's no doubt in my mind that next generation it'll be 70-120+ Million.

Yes, 2 games that have to cut serious corners and sacrifice content to look like that. We are well beyond what the hardware can do not only with graphics but AI, Physics etc...

You realise the main reason for rising costs was the change from SD to HD right? The big developers already have their first next gen engines up and running. Costs depend entirely on what publishers are willing to spend.

Nice thread.

BTW, Sony Santa Monica formed another team after GoW3, and they confirmed that they were working on a new IP; they're working on it now as we speak, and Stig is supposed to be heading the project. Thats why Ascension has a new director.

Technically they didnt confirm it for next gen, but as long as Sony is planning to launch PS4 soon, I think its pretty much confirmed.

Looks like all, if not majority, of the confirmed next-gen games aren't by Japanese devs.
For that matter the lack of a next gen game starring an anamorphic animal or a traditional Platformer is rather saddening.
Then again those kind of things are more relegated to Digitial distribution releases or Indies.

Kinda lame that only 2077 and watch_dogs interest me aside from the Wii U games that haven't been added yet.

The Witcher 3

Well, we don't know shit really other than to expect more badass Geralt, a bigger open world, and more plowing

Didn't CD Projekt Red confirm that it would have an open-world? You should add that.

Also, I hate to be that guy but shouldn't every single upcoming Wii U game be listed in this thread for it to make sense. Super Smash Bros 4 has been confirmed, by the way.

How big is really the chance that Lucid works on PGR? I mean, why would they want to work with MS anymore?

Well they seem to be working on a racer. There could be a good chance it is PGR related given their hints. Why would they work with MS? Money mostly. Plus the prestige that comes from working on such a title. Besides from what I understand there was no bad blood when MGS sold Bizarre to Activision.

Next gen hasn't even been announced yet. Wait for E3 for actual game announcements.
