Cyberpunk 2077 CGI teaser trailer

Was the pnp game team based? See that a class is called Solo. Also it seems like you're part of a squad from the description (then again the tease shows just one dude). So yeah, wonder if this is team based or if you're just that one guy and if you are then you're just a cop?

It's teamed based, with each character filling a certain niche (this niche protection is the only class-based element of the game). The advice stresses that this cooperation should be tinged with some degree of distrust, as none of the members can be sure that one of their fellows isn't a plant, won't sell them out for another day of kibble, or will shoot them in the back at the first opportunity. The game recommends that the GM have a solid hook to keep the players together and focused, beyond the "you all meet at the bar, the corporate contact has a mission ..." It also stresses that the best Cyberpunk games are played at the Street level, with the characters only one cheap wetwork away from living in a cardboard box, with life in a stinky coffin hotel a welcome respite from the real low-lifes.

In reality, most Cyberpunk games tend to ramp up in power level fast and R. Talsorian soon started catering to that style of game in their gear books and sourcebooks. Even the Fourth Corporate War books (which sets up the big break from 2020 to the 2077 universe) is Hollywood level stuff. There's an entire book on designing and using tanks and power armor, for example.

Solos are the grunts of the CP2020 system: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk_2020#Roles

The name is a bit deceptive, they are still very much team members.

I hated that, we had one dickhead who always wanted the most amazing cyber and humanity loss, and power armour etc. We just kept killing his characters.

Yeah, things got a bit out of hand with Maximum Metal (tanks and power armor), but it was Chromebook 2 that introduced the munchkin-magnets known as full-conversion 'borgs. It appears that some form of full 'borgs are more common in 2077 though, as the female appears to be one.

The Chromebooks (Cyberpunk's equipment handbooks) have quite a bit of art, which I imagine CDPR is using as the basis of concepts for 2077, so they may be of interest to people really interested in this game.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
I liked it, cool teaser. Not as cool as a full trailer but such is the nature of teasers. It's probably a piece of the intro cinematic, I doubt they'll do one for each class or whatever. Like seeing a part of the Witcher 2 intro wouldn't make me think they'll do a trailer for each area because that part shows a castle or something.

You are out of your mind if you think even a single 690 could do that in 60fps. No way no how. Look at the hair, look at the fuzz on the jackets, look at the lack of jaggies on anything, the texture scuff, at the skin, at the folding of the fabric, just no. It's not happening.

We are just about to enter into nextgen, where all the world's best developers are gonna make jump into new era of visual fidelity... and you want to continue gaming on the 2012 GTX6xx line of GPUs???

C2077 comes out in 2015, year in which we will have access to Radeon 10xxx and GTX 9xx cards.

I don't know if it was already mentionned but there's a HQ 300MB trailer that you can download.

At Platige Image's vimeo channel or at Gamersyde.

Nice! Gamersyde yesterday had only ~140MB version. 300MB looks much better.

Yeah. I do love the art in the supplemental books though.

I really like the art style, so bladerunnery. The trailer reminded me one the Killzone 2 interactive trailers.

There should be more cyberpunk games.

I hate CGI teasers for videogames...I feel like I'm being deliberately lied to.Still hyped tho!

Deus Ex HR was a steaming pile of garbage, hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 will give us the cyberpunk world we deserve.

What the fuck am I reading here? DE:HR was not perfect, but it was far from a steaming pile of garbage.

Compared to other openworld(?) games it was a dull lifeless world with horrid and unbalanced gameplay. terrible game.

Cyberpunk 2077 will hopefully fix the genres subpar showing in videogames.

The woman getting shot at is the same woman you see at the very end, look at the bullet impact mark on her face....whats up with that?

It's not a gameplay trailer, but I'm loving the style and feel of the setting. Once again CDP does not disappoint.

And now I'm completely torn between wanting to play as the psycho girl or playing the cop with the psycho girl as his partner... hmm, both as playable characters perhaps, kind of like a party system with both where you could choose which one to control at any given moment.

Essentially after she went psycho and started killing people she's being "reprogrammed" and recruited as an anti-psycho agent.

Unfortunately in the Gametrailers interview the dev cannot confirm whether or not the women we see in the trailer will appear in the game.

Bummer. :(

DEHR was never meant to be "open world". It had several large hubs [wide linear].

Yeah I get that, that's why I put the ? in parentheses behind the word "open world". However, the world Eidos Montreal created was still empty dull and lifeless. It was too sterile and lacking in humanity and most of the game systems were broken or just didn't work well.

Hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 gives us the cyberpunk world we deserve and does the genre justice.

Anyone have played Omikron The Nomad Soul?

That was the best cyberpunk game ever released in 90s.

Open world, full of NPCs, etc...

yes, yes and yes. brilliant title, still waiting on a sequel / follow up. :'(

hell, I'd do some pretty debasing shit for a hd remake. lol. :(

trailer looks really cool, even if it is only cg. do we know target platforms outside of PC? can we expect it on the durango at the very least?

teaser trailer was about what expected, this game is going to be amazing I can feel it in my bones lol. And I can't wait for The Witcher 3 news.

sadly it has not aged well at all :D recently got it for the Dreamcast and all the dead empty streets in the city make it pretty boring.

But hey, it has David Bowie!

I think CDP stated that there will be character creation this time, so no set main character like Gerald.

Can somebody explain to me where the IP "Cyberpunkt" is from? Is it a Comic or a board game Warhammer style? Im confused about it. Ive never heard of Cyberpunk before and i really like the style from the trailer.

It was a very, VERY popular pen & paper roleplay game ruleset in the '80s and '90s.
And yes, "Cyberpunk" is the *actual* name of the IP, not just a generic definition of its genre.

Isn't Cyberpunk a genre name? Or is there an existing franchise named Cyberpunk?

From wikipedia
Cyberpunk is a postmodern science fiction genre noted for its focus on "high tech and low life.

It's a pen&paper rpg, like Dungeons and Dragon basically(played with dice, etc...), but in the future.

Both. A genre and a PnP RPG I spent a shedload of time and money playing back in the day.

I really need to dig out my copy of the rulebook I had Mike sign at GenCon eons ago....

Goddamnit, I can't stop watching that trailer. I normally tend to ignore these teasers, but this one just does it for me. And that song definitely grew on me.

Are the quotes from CDPR on IGN and a few other places new? Some pretty tantalizing tidbits in there. The setting in particular sounds exciting:

“Both the city and game world will be vast,” said Badowski. “We don’t want to make a game where, for instance, you close off a street because a quest needs to play out there. Ours will be an open world, you’ll feel the vastness of what surrounds you, you’ll feel that you’re there and you can go forth and explore. That’s the feeling I had when playing GTA or even older games like Nomad Soul. I’m sure I wasn’t alone. Personally, I dislike playing through a mission, turning left and not seeing a thing, or worse, seeing some car blocking my way. That’s done for game purposes, but we want to find another way for Cyberpunk 2077.”

The city is being designed so it doesn’t look like a purely futuristic metropolis. Older elements of buildings will be mixed in with more modern structures to make it look like the city was built in layers to create a more realistic, Blade Runner-esque style. Badowski commented, “It’s important to show that the city was not built in a day.”

I remember watching an interview with Syd Mead, and he spoke very similarly about how they created the look for Blade Runner. With the layering of technology on buildings and whatnot. Very cool.

Both.

I've no doubt this is just scratching the surface of the universe as a whole but it sounds like a really neat game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberpunk_2020 - it's just too bad I don't know anyone who's down to play a pen & paper game with me :lol

Those quotes make me moist. And yeah, the PnP CP2020 game pretty much defined my teenage years. Awesome world, I was always sad there was never a great CRPG built around it.

Seeing a teaser trailer (which is designed to excite viewers about the prospective game) wherein a partially clothed woman is being shot in the head by a man is supremely disappointing.

That universe is going to look amazing graphically...but the trailer seems to tease an experience with the same tropes a lot of games are mired in.

Yeah, because having a man be shot wouldn't be as cliche huh? Maybe if he was half naked it would at least be refreshing.
