This question was probably answered a lot, but here I go: Pokemon X/Y has sparked my fire once again and so I want to know of PokeGAF which fifth gen game I should buy.

I played all gens but the fifth. My last game was SoulSilver which burned me out, because I already played Gold all these years ago when I was a kid, so I think that was the reason.

I only want to buy one game.
Should I get White/Black or White 2/Black 2? What is the consensus here? Are 2 the better games?

i feel like you should get black/white 1 rather than 2. the main reason is that it's a whole new experience in comparison to the sequel. you don't see any previous gen pokemon until after the pokemon league, whereas black/white 2 has a mixed pokedex from the start.

the story continues from 1 to 2, although you aren't the same main character, so it's more just the story going on in the background. you wouldn't be confused starting with 2 if you're worried about that.

By the way, can we talk/ask about exchanges here on this thread ? Also, I don't remember if we can make exchanges between EU and US players. I believe it's possible, but I honestly don't remember.

You can ask for trades! And yes, trades work between EU and US players.
