The time for the direct seems pretty late for Japan - 11pm. I wonder if that's an indication that it'll involve news which is more relevant to the West instead...

Hopefully it will give me reason not to throw my Wii U in the disposal. I only use it for surfing the web since Zombi U is about up.

Blimey. That's a fairly extreme response; most GAFers simply threaten to trade it in. Are you taking cues from the "Amir0x Toilet Bowl School of Photography" on this one?

Could perhaps be a trailer for SSB? Since that series is huge in the west. Just a CGI trailer and some sort of information on connectivity between 3DS and Wii U version?


I hope its a new Advance Wars game!

I see this as planned before the Wii U's poor sales.

I hope the Wii U's poor sales make them show games that are still a ways away.

I think regardless of the sales, this will show a lot on the Virtual Console: which could be the difference of me buying one in the next few months, or next few years.

22nd January – Nintendo today announced a new global edition of Nintendo Direct. The ‘Wii U Direct – Nintendo Games’ will be streamed from the Nintendo Direct website on 23rd January from 2pm GMT and sees Nintendo President Satoru Iwata take a look at future Wii U software and services from Nintendo.



The Wii U console launched in November last year and introduced the Wii U GamePad, a controller with a 6.2-inch touch screen that is redefining how people interact with their games, their entertainment and one another.

I wonder if we will actually see complete new games (e.g. Yoshi's Land, Smash Bros., Retro game) or if we 'just' get new information on TW101, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin, etc.

I hope they show something good, my friend has already lost 500$ at the stock market. Knowing how things usually go with Nintendo, it'll drop even further though :(
