The grass. All of the grass is moving.

That's one of the first things I noticed during that trailer too lol

Yes there is every likelihood that the game is not Xenoblade 2 and is set in a completely original universe. That's how Takahashi has rolled all his career. Xenogears, Xenosaga, Soma Bringer, Xenoblade. All games have lots of similarities, very similar designs, recurring story themes, but they're not in the same universe. If he wanted to make a sequel to Xenoblade, it would be Xenoblade 2. Not a new original game.

No way the guy in the end is not Shulk.

BK sold ~100k in Japan, BK2 sold less than 50k. In the US I think it was something like... 18k and 6k? This was way back in the early 2000s too, where RPGs on the PS2 sold much, much better than they do today, especially in Japan. So yeah, it's a bomba franchise.

Bomba franchise yet it is awesome. When you think about it, Nintendo bought and believed in Monolithsoft when they were pretty much not putting out big sellers at all. They published the prequel to Baten -- which bombed, and yet they went ahead and purchased them anyways and the only reason I can think of is they know they can make good games.

Xenosaga Episode 1 sold over a million worldwide. :p

But what happens if you run out of fuel while trying to fast travel on a mech, only to be stuck at the top of a mountain, with the only way down being a cave filled with lvl80 enemies. :D

If Xenoblade rules are still in place, I'll just jump off the mountain. :D

Xenoblade shipped in Japan in 2010

So this game may have 3+ years in development? or did they worked on something else in between?

Regarding the trailer that face close up looks horrible, too much in to te uncanny valley, do not look taht much to Shulk either but could be a descendant, there seem to be quite a technological leap from Xenoblade if indeed this is a continuation of the same world

Just went thru and rewatched the trailer...

And omg the soundtrack. Great direction on the trailer to bring it in when the composer was announced.

That with the mechs fighting. Just enough to get me pumped for this game.

Goodness it would be cool if they'd have up to 4 player online/local co-op in this. Perhaps what the "chat windows" and "system logs" hint at, rather than straight up MMO as others have been speculating.

Either way, I'm excited to hear more and have this epic in my hands. HYPE!!! xD

I just realised that the green circular target that appears in battle enables you to target different parts of an enemies body. With the massive dinosaur at the start of the trailer you can target each leg and everything else. Awesome!

Well I said I would wait till a monolith soft game came, and release date for this is the day I buy a Wii U.
actually if there is a crazy sale leading up to its release then I will buy one then, but you get my point

Looks awesome! Really hope there are some massive towns to explore and a great cast of characters as well.

That's what I assume it is. Basically an evolution of Xenoblade with the option to have real players with you instead of just the AI.

Just noticed a laser beam headed toward the mech before it took off.

avoiding an attack or gathering energy :s

Looked like a blue orb item getting collected to me. The blue orb disappears just after, with a popup in the bottom right saying "Obtained Item: Kebo Carrot". duckroll beat me though.

You see the player mech cut off that same enemies head at 0:55 too.

Holy shit how did I miss this?!!

I am so hyped but I don't want to be. Hype brings unrealistic expectations and a much greater chance to be let down...

Breathe slowly, Luap.

Monolith helped with some part of Skyward Sword, I believe.

I wonder if maybe you can select body parts with the touchscreen? Or at least an option too, rather than aiming at or cycling through body parts

The mech seems to use about 10 units of fuel per second when flying. Assuming the 7000 fuel represents a full tank at some point in the game, that's ~10 minutes of air time before you have to refuel.

Yeah but this was during the time of Xenosaga Ep III after II was meh.

Those games still sold way better than BK though. My point is that Monolithsoft is not a developer unable to develop games which sell well. BK is just an unprofitable series because there isn't much appeal. Even the shitty Monolithsoft games by the NxC team sell pretty well. If Honne ever wants to make a game like BK again, it'll have to be as a new IP imo.
