You guys see this?

The dollar has strengthened since then, but the yen still has it beat, with the exchange rate currently sitting at 88.62 yen per dollar. Put in Xbox LIVE terms, 1600msp ($19.99 US) retails at a rate of ¥2,240 ($24.94 when converted). When the percentage of the sales owed to content creators on a 1600 msp game is disbursed, Microsoft calculates based on $19.99 per copy (the US cost of the points), regardless of how much a consumer paid for the 1600 msp that enabled the purchase.

There's a deeper breakdown at the link but it basically explains that Japanese developers are receiving less bang for their buck when they release games on Xbox Live Arcade and that its one of the reasons why small Japanese developers haven't picked up XBLA the way many western indie developers have.

Was just looking at the olde Atari games cause I've always quite fancied The Undergarden, just noticed that the full game is currently priced at 240 MSP.
Checked the others and their prices seem to be the same but this one is mega cheap.
Worth a punt.
Edit- Ahh I have noticed that the is some DLC for 160 MSP, which takes it to 400 total.

Would be strange to make an entirely new logo for just an emulated version of classic Strider, no? Or maybe that's just wishful thinking since I'd be all over a sweet HD remake, but wouldn't care too much about playing the old one for the billionth time...

When I see all the delisted XBLA games like this... I get sad. So many games gone.
Wait, so Kung Fu Strike, Warlords and Yu-Gi-Oh Plus were all permanent delistings? The latter two were on sale for like 2 days!

Well now, I was hoping the SFxT extra characters would be part of a sale one day. Never thought it would actually happen though!

Not much of a discount, but probably as much as I was expecting.

I need to grab some more points, it seems.

Wish the digital version dropped in price...

Oh, the BF3 coop shortcut... I can't play coop because my awful connection, so I can't get the weapons, and I have 200 points, hehehe.

But... Amalur DLC is on sale too... and I didn't want to buy points :-(

Loaded up my xbox and went over most of the deals, bought none.

While I have too much to play right now anyway I have no reasons to save on some of that stuff, forza cars and megaman discounts seem silly to me, you would get a better deal buying the cars in a full pack for 560 msp or whatever it is for 10 vehicles now.

Dragonage 1 and 2 are over 1000 msp in the UK, it's a turn off when you know somewhere else get's them for 800...

Damn, I really want NBA Jam and I have the MS points, but my backlog is already too big. :(

Depends on what you're looking for.

But NBA JAM is a fun game to play with friends between main games. No need to "finish" the game. Maybe just gather enough points to buy teams, characters or modes you like.

For me, one of the best revivals and best games on XBLA.

I have the retail version of NBA Jam any difference between that and the arcade version? I'll be picking up Shank 2 probably but why is the first 2 Deathspank's on sale but not The Baconing?

Someone on GameFAQs says:

One of the main differences between the Jam and the On Fire Edition is the ability to change player when playing by yourself. It's so much easier to play solo when you can switch between both players. Also they added in Team Fire when you complete 3 ally-oops in a row and Razzle Dazzle moves which are kinda lame, but sometimes fun to use against the Easy level CPU. The Career mode is now called Road Trip and is a little more in-depth than the old one.

You can find games online, but online is kinda hit or miss depending on your opponent (shoving is prevalent). No glitches that I know of, and the secret code and player unlock system is done with Jam Bucks now, so you can buy the old school players you want instead of having to do the sometimes ridiculous challenges. All in all I had the old 2010 version for Xbox 360 and haven't regret buying the On FIre Edition at all. It's enough of a better version to warrant a purchase, especially since it's on sale this week.
