I would walk to Kirkland just to personally thank 343 if the season ends with Halsey killing Palmer, then taking a massive shit right on her stupid scout face mask. Legendary shit.

What if 343i added back Steizer's proposed "CHENEYMANIA" medal for betrayals, and then instantly booted the offender?
But wasn't Halsey alive during the re-terraforming and rebuilding of Reach? She was giving that speech how we won't forget Noble-Six and his sacrifice. That was like 30+ years after halo event.

Any idea if non-multiplayer related achievements will still be unlockable? I would assume they wouldn't be affected it all they're doing is taking the server browser down, but you never know.
They'd chalk it up to a non-canon ending like Halo CE and Johnson.

Jokes on you, ONI is the ancient evil in Halo. Having discovered the special mind manipulation device, ONI made final plans. For ONI to truly take control all, they woiuld have to remove the majority of mankind. To do this, they developed tools to protect themselves from the mind manipulation device's effects on the Galaxy. They dispersed the signal of the MMD through structures they placed around the galaxy called Halos. The MMD worked wonders. ONI knew what had to happen to eliminate mankind, make man fight man. Through testing and planning, ONI finalized it's plan. The MMD could transfer different messages to different regions heads across the Galaxy. ONI created the Covenant. They gave these humans across roles to play. They would act as those member of the Covenant and participate in their galactic annihilation of 'humanity'. ONI was also able to specify who would remain 'human' and fight the Covenant. The creation of the Flood was actually a later event. ONI had created a parasite that infected the minds of the host, and it accidentally spilled out. A small research station became infected, and ONI monitored the situation. They watched as these humans began transforming, turning into hideous monsters. They also noted that while some of the creatures eventually rot away and die, some manage to remain. ONI was able to program into humanities head, a history and vision of these parasitic life forms. When the outbreak really happened, ONI banked on more creatures dying than living. That meant less humanity in the long run.
You are only witnessing the last days of humanity. Man has killed man, and this peacetime will not last. Halo 6 shows the end of humanity, and the rise of ONI.

No way they're going to kill Halsey. Apparently she's the only one who can "restore" Cortana and she's too vital of a character to kill off in a sub-cannon part of the game. Wouldn't feel right.

That would have been important if Cortana hadn't been exploded with the Forerunner ship.

I imagine they'll find a way to bring Cortana back, some remnant of hers survived etc. But she'll have no memory of Chief, won't be the same.

Cortana isn't as helpful, angry she's stuck with an old spartan, calling him out for his reckless behavior, instead of being helpful, is calculating the odds he can't survive. Basically a 180 of the original Cortana. Would make for a nice new dynamic.

Agree. Even if we eventually got the "nice" Cortana back, I'd be down for an almost antagonistic campaign companion, like Guilty Spark coulda' been.

In Halo 6, you play as the Master Chief. When we last left our Hero, he had just cracked into Dr. Halsey's Drop Box in search of the hidden file detailing the process required to restore Cortana. However, Drop Box's User Interface has made finding this file a Herculean task that not even the Chief can tackle alone. With the help of Arbiter, journey to the nearest bookstore in search of "Drop Box for Dummies". With this ancient scroll, only then can Master Chief and Arbiter uncover the hidden Cortana Restoration file.

Thanks guys. And that's pretty hilarious. I was actually at PAX and can't believe I missed out on this. lol.
Also that tournament made me feel kind of sad. It was max 32 people and only ~20 showed up. I mean... free tournament.. why not? And the people that I talked to admitted that they barely play Halo anymore but did back in the H2/H3 days. It made me long for those days. Here's to hoping Halo makes a big return one day.
