Is it as impressive as in elemental?
Lighting seems worse

Where is its place next-gen? Almost every major studio built its own engine

But yeah, still looks impressive

Doesnt look as good as the original Elemental vid, but thats should be expected!

Im sure it will look better given a bit more time to polish it, and make full use of a closed system.

Wow that's quite the difference.

I'm not completely surprised as the demos from 2012 were running on a GTX 680, but I expected something closer than that.

One is a top of the line PC and the other is Next Gen Consoles. There is a huge power gap between them. Even the arch over the doorway is missing carved symbols etc on the PS4 version

I agree. Though, this is a first generation demo, so it will be interesting to see what we can get out of the machine with time.

Yep. Huge drop. Will be interesting to see how it improves then, you're right.

Any video of Agni's Philosophy for comparison?

EDIT* Ok, huge may be pushing it. Still, noticeable drops in particles, lighting, textures, polygons. Although, the PS4 demo looks quite inconsistent. Interesting to see what it looks like on Durango or (lol) Wii U.

Interesting to watch the two videos after eachother. The PS3 continues right from the original tech demo. I suppose we might get to see the two elementals clash during the Xbox 720 press event.

Wouldn't worry too much. With most of the powerhouse developers using their own engine this coming gen, UE4 will be less relevant.

You'd think 8GB of RAM would allow Epic to at least have some decent textures.

This has to be a rushed effort or something, because that looks horrible.

The Agni's Philosophy looked horribly compressed from what I remember. I doubt it was running in realtime on PS4.

Also there's a fireball in that PS4 UE4 shot so that may be a reason the lighting and shininess of the armor is different.

Looks positively limp compared to the original.

Good I say. I'm tired of the Unreal Engine look, and want to see more proprietary engines.

I honestly think they have just tweaked the demo... the original had some pretty shoddy textures in parts as well. It wasn't exactly the most impressive showcase of the engine or the most impressive technical demo at all.

actually it looks worse to me. The rock in the bottom of the pic isn't blurry because it's low rez, its because of DOF. DOF is completely absent in the PC pic. Also the textures on the armor looks too plasticity imo, it may just because of the lighting which is just way brighter, so therefor is reflecting more. The ps3 pic has a must more realistic soft lightning and better more realistic texturing on the armor.

this, some of it may just be an aesthetic difference. but DOF is completely missing, and the texture on the armor look improved to me. The lighting is just tweaked to have a softer, less bright look to it(which is actually harder to pull off correctly, soft lighting vs crazy bloom.

The biggest difference I can between the two screens is that the former has the DOF cranked super-shallow, which basically hides whatever flaws are lurking in those very near or very far areas.

Think you got it the wrong way around, isn't the top one pc and the bottom ps4?

The PS4 demo, along Killzone demo showed clay models in the environment. This demo has literally no textures at all.

oops, lol. then yes it does look worse to me. No DOF at all. But it may purely be an asethetic choice by the devs. I prefer the softer lighting. Theres more fire in the pic, so therefor theres more light? I assumed the bottom one was the PC pic cause they were saying the textures looked blurry and there were less particle effects. Bottom one does have more particle effects(cause of fire) and crisp looking textures cause theres no DOF.

Yeah it's not quite the 680s level. I don't think it takes advantage of the full ram setup though. We'll see closer to launch but I'm sure there are some texture upgrades in store.

really not that much difference. There is a bit more particle effects, but the bigger difference is actually there luminosity. There much brighter.

the smoke is missing, and they've added a dirty les + lensflare filter on the ps4 shot (or at least its more noticable), the motion blur on the hammer is lower and dof is missing.
