VGLeaks rumours: Two AC games coming, Black Flag not on PS4/720

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Yesterday Ubisoft held the Assassin’s Creed event we mentioned a few days ago.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was presented yesterday and it’s coming to Playstation 3, Xbox 360, WiiU an PC, featuring 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay to the PS3 version (that also happened with AC: Brotherhood and AC3 on this system).

‘Black Flag’ tell us enough about the scenario of this new entry on the AC world: Battle ships and Pirates!!

Many rumors point to a set on 1715 and Connor’s grandfather (or even father) as the main character. Monday at 5pm GMT we will know more details about this killer-pirates.

But that’s not all. As we titled, Ubi holds a surprise regarding the franchise. We can confirm there’s another game in development that has not been announced. Weird thing is ‘Black Flag” not coming for Playstation 4 and Durango [they updated the article to add a (for the moment) here] so… could we see that rumored WWII scenario coming true at next gen systems this year? Nah, too hasty. Bet for a Vita one in 2013

We’ll have to wait a little more, but this year we’ll see two AC games, that’s for sure.

http://www.vgleaks.com/assassins-creed-iv-black-flag-presented-ubisoft-still-holds-an-ac-surprise/

It was posted in the ACIV thread, so I thought it could have been thread worthy.

Even with Ubisoft's resources, that sounds like a stretch. It could be that a "next-gen" focused AC is in development, but for 2014.

Edit: Didn't read the Vita part. That might make sense, although I don't see them creating the assets and world of completely new area/time period for use in a Vita exclusive.

Hmm, I dunno about another Vita one. While Ubisoft Sofia is working on another "AAA" project, a Ubisoft leaker posted that Vita fans won't be happy. Given Black Flags is coming to PS3/360/Wii U/PC I figured it wouldn't be a Liberation port, but rather maybe a 3DS game or something?

Link? ACIII:Liberations didn't do that bad in the end for what it is, I thought another iteration on Vita could have been possible.

WWII means way more guns, so I have not interest when AC becomes a shooter. Give me 1800's London "Jack the Ripper" style and we will talk again Ubi.

Link to the leaker bit? Hope it's a 3DS game. Sofia did Shadow Wars so they have 3DS experience.

Damn. With new systems coming out I honestly have no interest in playing games on the current ones. I'm finishing up a few old games but I doubt I'll be buying many more for this generation.

This is disappointing.

Has there ever been a CEO saying one of their games was a big failure? Most of times it's just 'exceeding expectations', which depend on how high you set those.

There was no reason to go out of his way to praise its sales like he did if they were disappointed.

I'll eat my hat if it's not on 720/PS4.

Edit:

They updated the article to make it sound like speculation on the next-gen thing:

I wouldn't doubt it. Ubi milking the shit out of AC. Anyway, I'm out. They've never quite delivered on the promise of AC2

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
Now that 3DS is doing better than its launch months, why haven't Ubisoft revive the AC that they canned? I want an AC game on the 3DS

I'm not saying it didn't sell well, I was just saying ceo's are still businessmen trying to keep their shareholders happy. I don't know what he said about AC:L, so I can't judge that.

Why ? Because it doesn't make any sense at all ?

Because VGLeaks is now pulling shit out of their ass without any credible source. All their credible sources were regarding hardware leaks from last year's iteration, and they keep on rehashing that data over and over and over again. This is just them speculating out of nowhere.

I'll eat my hat if it's not on 720/PS4.

Edit:

They updated the article to make it sound like speculation on the next-gen thing:

And now they're backtracking. Hilarious. VGLeaks is now two steps behind other media.

I'd lol hard if it isn't released on PS4/720. Because Wii U would be the only next gen console with an AC title. And that's...seriously impossible. :lol

I found this

Well, the guy who said that Rayman Legends and Ghost Recon are in development for Vita said that is some Ubi-related news that would anger Vita owners. A new handheld Assassin's Creed not on Vita would fit that bill.

Rayman and Ghost Recon are infinitely more exciting to me, though. Ghost Recon was technically stunning on PSP - bloom, depth of field, the works.

But who was the original leaker?

If they just mean AC 2014, well duh. AC 2015 is probably in pre-production as well.

IF they're intimating that there's two AC games coming out this year, then that's interesting.

fuck being anything to do with assassins creed but a AAA jack the ripper game would be day 1 for me

It wasn't canned. It was changed into AC: Revelations. It possible that development reached a point where a game engine was made, but a AC game on the 3DS would probably be built from scratch.

If watch dogs in Cross-generational, then Black Flags is cross-generational.

I've been told that AC on Vita was a failure though, wtf

It's like the top selling Vita game in the west. Just not enough vitas are in the wild. Also it is way better than 3. Won an award for best story telling.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
It will be PS4/720 in addition to PS360, just like 90% of big budget 3rd party games for the next year.

Makes sense though if you think about it.

I was surprised when I heard Black Flag was a numbered entry, because it fits with the theme of ACIII and could have been part of a ACII-Brotherhood-Revelations trilogy.

However, if they're making a Vita spin-off and exclusive PS4/Durango games, it kind of makes sense to have 3 "Assassin's Creed IV: Subtitle" games, like they did with ACIII and Liberation.

The leak is only for a new Assassin's Creed Vita.

The missing PS4/Durango information was to add fluff to the news piece. This "leaker" possibly saw the boxarts and concluded that PS4/Durango weren't going to get the game.
Which makes me put the source in doubt.

I did, and it sounds like everything about what the second game is is pure speculation. Could I be wrong? Sure.

It doesn't sound like spectulation. He's saying that there's another AC and it's for Vita

Are assassin creed games usually announced this early? It just i think AC4 was announced a bit early for a winter release.

Uh, yes. EA just recently threw Medal of Honor: Warfighter under the bus. Yves went out of his way to say that with the right game (implying AC: Liberation was the right game) you can be successful on Vita.

Link? ACIII:Liberations didn't do that bad in the end for what it is, I thought another iteration on Vita could have been possible.

This poster put out details regarding Black Flags that ended up being correct, so I'm guessing they're legit (it's not like it would be the first Ubi thing to leak anyways):

Sup, vitabros. Heard from a very reliable source that rayman legends and rainbow six patriots is heading towards the vita. :)

Haven't heard about [another AC on Vita]. although there is something related to AC that'll piss off a few vita fans.

If it's being developed by Sofia again (which would make the most sense) I guess it's not impossible for him to not hear of it, since I doubt North American based Ubisoft staff hear a lot about what goes on in Bulgaria, lol. He could very well be referencing a Liberation port, but I dunno.

It's coming, they just won't talk about it yet.

I just find it weird that Ubi has no issue announcing Watch_Dogs for PS4, but it seems like they could be waiting for the 720 announcement before announcing the next-gen version of AC4.

Or maybe it's because they're building the current-gen version first and porting to next-gen later, opposite of Watch_Dogs.

But it seems Ubisoft will make Vita's owners angry. And Assassin's Creed would be the only thing related to Vita from Ubisoft, considering the same user said that RL and Ghost Recon are coming on the platform.

Look at how bad AC plays on Vita and ask yourself, who would buy AC on the 3DS?

Ubisoft shipped 600k of ACL because it was bundled and Sony basically gave it for free. Let's not play dumb, nobody is checking for that turd.

Iwata likes to play dirty though, and a few months ago he mentioned the ACL crazy bundle and deals, so maybe he's planning to do the same this holiday season.

EDIT: Looking at Takao's post, the source seems legit, the bad news would be Liberations HD? I have also heard of RL on Vita, and as some people have mentioned before, it's probably being kept under wraps because it's a $40 game versus $60 on consoles.
