Bravely Default: Flying Fairy twitter account says they can hear the overseas fans

They aren't. But then, I have no issues with random battles in general. I was only pointing it out to Amir0x since he has quite a dislike for them.

Honestly, if you are the type of person who has a problem with random battles, then I doubt that's the only issue you'll have with this game.

Is it pretty much like Four Heroes of Light? If it is, I'll love it. I loved Heroes of Light.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
Its Four Heroes of Light except they took out everything people didn't like about it's battle system and turned the presentation up about ten notches.

And they brought in a visual novel writer, which might be hit or miss for those of us outside Japan.

Sounds good!

I thought they did an amazing job with Four Heroes of Light within the DS' limitations. The art style still amazes me today. Looks like Bravely Default is the vision they originally wanted.

I think it's coming. I just hope it isn't a year later or anything!

Man, get some more low down in there as well!

Beneath the Hollow Moon
Silence of the Forest
^My personal favorite.
The Day the Wind Blew

Hey, Land of Immortality is low tempo.

I forgot about The Day the Wind Blew. Very good track also. Hollow Moon is solid. I think Silence is just OK.

Infiltrating Hostile Territory is probably the first track that I really liked while Love's Vagrant is the first one that made me go "holy shit."

The good thing is that because the game is getting a sequel we will also get new tracks from Revo (assuming he returns...and he has to)! The first game needs to get here ASAP though.

That's why I said more! :p

I like Silence due to it being such a peaceful track I can just relax to. Good stuff and yeah, LV is a masterpiece. All in all, what's great about it is how much variety it has in its soundtrack.

And yes Revo. <3

So hyped by the chance of this getting localized. The last great SE game I played was TWEWY and since then it's been just disappointment after another, sometimes by quality and other times by SE not bringing their games over. Bravely Default would redeem some of their reputation in my eyes. Still waiting for Type-0, Square!

The Gamefaqs insider that informed us of this BDFF localisation has just shared some juicy bits about Versus XIII.

I believe I've already talked about Versus didn't I?

It's been plagued by internal politics strife but is on track for a late 4th quarter 2013 or early 2014.

From what I've seen, it's a gutted project into which far too much money and time has been poured into. Regarding an official announcement, nothing is planned just yet but we are already ramping up partnerships with distributors/retailers.

He added more:
Calling versus a numbered title is debatable at this point.
Anyways some reveals are planned for the TGS (mid september), as for E3 nothing much concerning Versus.

As I said in another topic, they're not even considering localisation as it stands now.
Japan first, we'll see later. Hardly a forward-thinking way of doing things.

Regarding the length of marketing campaigns there's no set rule. It pretty much depends on your definition of campaign. As far as I'm concerned, it takes about 1 year including planning for AAA titles and can take as little as 2 months for smaller projects overseas.

As for it conflicting with Lightning Returns. Not really. The tentative deadlines (Yes, such things do exist, as stupid as this may sound) are far from being too restrictive. Late 4th quarter is the most optimistic one for the game to be ready to ship. (Emphasis on ready.)

My educated guess from the info I have is that late 1st quarter is a far more likely release date. The fighting goes on here and some of the big players aren't too happy with the amount of money this has been costing them. Don't forget that they are pretty much aware that FFXIII versus has been an embarrassment for them worldwide. They don't want to ship a half baked product for this one, now that would truly make them a laughing stock.

Was just about to post this lol. I asked like two seconds ago if this possible release would conflict with Lightning Returns and I'm waiting on an answer.

LR is releasing in September most likely though. I don't think it would conflict much.

Don't see how it would be good if it is legitimate. Sounds like it's in a bad position.

This:

Believe. Hopefully they got the bad stuff sorted out.

Yeah, so we have:

- E3 re-reveal unlikely. TGS possible.
- Name change to XV is debatable at this point.
- Late Q4 2013 ready to release. More likely is late Q1 2014.
- This release is for Japan. Not even considering localization for now.

The last bit there worries me. But given how much the game has cost them, it will more than likely get localised.

I just realized FF Versus XIII isn't a fighting game. I never had any interest in this game because I just assumed it would be like the Dissidia games. :D

I hope they keep the name as well but if they really, really need Final Fantasy in the title I hope they keep "brave" somehow.

Bravely Default: Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy Braves

or something along those lines.

Well, I can stomach random battles IF the rest of the game is to my liking... i.e. battles are sufficiently strategic (so that I can enjoy getting into random battles). But I'm now really curious about what are the other aspects you think you think would turn someone like me off, though. If you can elaborate on your thoughts here it'd be helpful, since I'd probably base my purchasing choice on what you say since you know your stuff.

Also the soundtrack is amazing.

Love's Vagrant

Baby Bird

Wicked Flight

Infiltrating Hostile Territory (0:52)

Four Legends (1:47)

That Person's Name Is...

Land of Civil War

Land of Immortality

yo some of these have a hardcore Brave Fencer Musashi feel. Which is super high praise because the soundtrack in that game was AWESOME.

I think Final Fantasy: Bravely Default is the most likely if FF is included.

MagiusNecros

Gilgamesh Fan Annoyance
Land of Civil War is one of my favorite tracks in the game.

And damn at that insider info. If that's true Square is in hot water.

I honestly doubt they wouldn't localize their big AAA console game.

This is SE though. It's impossible to gauge what they'll do.

So I haven't really kept up with everything, but is this actually confirmed, or are we still in the "likely" camp of speculation?

Funny you say that, cause I was loving Dimensions up until I hit a brick wall boss.

I was loving Final Fantasy IV up until...

Protip: This guy is full of shit.

Ehh, I have no particular reason to doubt this person. Everything he said pretty much falls in line with what you would expect from current gen Square Enix.

Until his track record is broken and he is proved to be totally wrong, I'll be treating it as a credible source.

A good reason to doubt the person is someone who knows more than him and you saying that he is full of it. But feel free to believe it.

If Kagari is stating that they're full of shit, that's a very compelling reason.
