maybe tomorrow it rains
Damn, I'm going to have to delete something from my 32 gb card when this comes out. I guess I should finally finish off Gravity Rush.

Promised impressions from yesterday's Red Sun Gamer SS Multiplayer Party!
Playing with 2-3 friends is even better than in the demo, mostly because you don't have to repeat the same 4-5 quests again and again.
We've fought harpy and cleared the whole chapter 2 of the Avalon quests, so yay us. Most of the fights were easy, although the first Centaur fight and the Jack o Lantern x2 fight gave us trouble. The second one especially, blocking 2 rolling bosses is no easy task, especially when some of your party members (Jonnyram, DJMizuhara, I'm looking at you two :p) are underleveled.

Multiplayer was lag-free despite the fact that both RyougaSaotome and me were using pretty bad wifi connections. As for everyone worrying about the latency, you can stay calm. I've played the demo with the RSG mates/randoms who were in Japan from Europe and it was lag free as well.

One big gripe I have with the game until now is the lack of enemy variations. Sure, we have Gold Goblins, Booze Goblins, Poison Goblins and a few types of Orks (+Spiders and Crows), but I hope later quests will bring new ones. I'm kind of tired of killing the rat/cat fodder again and again.
That said, each new boss 'type' (since there are elemental variations of those as well, it seems) is a huge challenge and great fun. And there are a lot of those.

Last but not least, some screenshots (both from the demo-prologue and the full version). Mostly from my single player adventures, as I was constantly forgetting to take screenshots during the 3-4 player quests (Ryouga took a lot, so you'll have to wait for his sshots):

sounds really awesome. this is the kind of thing that makes me wish vita had a share button.

That's what I thought yesterday after almost dying to take a cool screenshot, because I had to take both my hands of the buttons.

Keiician, I want to rebuy a Vita, now! Thx for the awesome impressions. I have a feeling the U.S. Vita's price might drop before this game comes out. That'll be the time to snag it.

Same can't wait to play this game =P, btw question for those who have played the game? Do you think this game have potential to have it own legs or improve Vita situation?

I don't think there's any doubt about SS improving Vita situation, at least in Japan. Will it become something like MonHan? That's a though question, the theme may not appeal to the same crowd, but there's a ton of multiplayer content, so I believe it may have strong legs.

Here's my impression of the game so far, The floor texture does not bother me at all when you starts fighting many monsters and boss. It's fast pace action game with lots of magics which is very2 cool. So far it's really good, the story as keiician said is very dark and full of struggles. I like how your AI mates have their own stance about sacrificing or saving, if they don't like your decision, they showed it either by leaving you or attacking you (though that maybe has something to do with their trust meter in their profile). The lack of enemies that are not boss is bothering me a bit, just lots of re color of birds, cats, mice, and spiders so far. About areas, some areas are small, but i have found areas that are unexpectedly big too. But the real gem of this game is definitely the multiplayer, its lag free, and i'm playing from the so called 3rd world lol. It's really fun, was playing with the RSG members last night, tho i had to leave after 2 quests and i already can't wait to play again with them later!
Jonnyram, you're next...give us your impression man!

Nice to hear that many people are impressed by this game =). Another question, does anybody know the Japanese players's reaction and impression of this game? Does the game system have a lot of depth that will keep people playing for a while?

Those damn NPCs. Just did one of the sidequests, saved the NPC at the beginning and during the fight, died near the end myself and got sacrificed. At least we killed the boss, but that wasn't nice at all. :(
Love the AI in this game - don't trust anyone.

So how is that music? Anything really standout? Does it add to the gameplay experience at all?
One of the best parts of the game, really climatic. I thought that it was good in the demo, but there's so much more in the full version.

Man, I really hope this gets the localization treatment it deserves. The Japanese is really well written and the story is way more compelling than I think anybody really expected. The fact that everything ties back in to that narrative is even cooler. I wasn't sure about the choice to go with a book-like format, but it actually plays like a novella as a result.

Really cool.

really want vita to be successful in jp( i own one and i want more games on vita!!!!)
let's hope this game is the new monster hunter for vita.

Aand, the first DLC has been announced. Coming at the beginning of April, it will consist of 1 new area and 2 new bosses:

Behemoth
Price and the exact release date is unknown.
I recall Inafune or someone talking about the free DLC, maybe it's the first batch of that, since the paid one was supposed to contain quests.

Edit:
Beaten by Takao, at least in case of screenshots. ;p

One thing I've noticed is that when people get burned, they start rolling around. I did the same thing in the demo, but I've wondered - does it really help? Also, is there a good reason for being able to hit your teammates?
Haven't checked it myself, but I ALWAYS roll when burned in games. It's common sense, right? "Stop-drop-roll"
Can you help a burning teammate by hitting him with an ice attack?
I don't know if this feature was in the demo, but if your teammate is debuffed, you can suck it in and power yourself up by approaching him/her and holding X.

Someone here asked if there are multiplayer trophies in the game.
Yes, there are three: 1 mp quest, 20 mp quests and 100 mp quests.

Loving everything I hear about this game so far. Already got 2 copies pre-ordered, just release the demo already Sony!

How is the character customisation in the full game? It looked pretty limited in the demo but that was to be expected.
You get new clothes as the game progresses, but I'm not expecting 20 outfits in the end anyway.
Also, remember about Holy/Chaos Modes for max life/magic levels:
And if Siliconera's translation is right (can't find the original article), those are not even the final forms of those modes.

This sounds so good, thanks for these impressions. They're keeping my personal hype alive! I want it >.<

Are we getting a new RSG with some talk about SS...? ;)

Well, i don't know if it's the best topic to do that, but i'm always up for some multiplayer, feel free to add me and send me a message (Just received the game today) : GegzJP

How is character creation? Do you start out with the same basic set of spells and then start to diversify your 'build' from everyone else at that point, or can you chose from starting classes?

How does this game seem from a purely single player perspective?

Definitely worth it. The story mode is robust and there's tons of content to burn through. AI partners are also pretty useful (and hilarious when they sacrifice you).

The story itself is really good so far. There was a lot of care taken in creating the setting and the overall narrative. Really enjoying it so far.
