Been re-made 13th time already. Going back to my WKChronicles' run now that is all said and done, my characters are lacking experience.

New avatar. Deinonychus represent.

On topic: I have a 3 year old son. Would I be a bad parent taking him to see this? We've watched the movie at home tons, but I feel like the general public is super touchy with this stuff. And then there's the popular 3D warning for children under 6 which has been disproven, according to the internet.

You would be amazing. Now I don't know much about kids, but I was 5 when I saw JP in theaters. Its one of my favorite memories, and I'm very very happy my dad stubbornly ignored my mom and took me to see the movie. I'm so happy I got to see the original in theaters, and will be seeing this rerelease multiple times.

Haha yes. I remember my brother who was 2 at the time, running out of the theater near the beginning because he was scared of the loud noises.

Going to a film screening of the movie on Wednesday afternoon (if my wife and I get out of her doctors appointments in time). Will report back and let everyone know how good the 3D ends up being.

Holy shit, I saw the preview before Oz in IMAX today.

Holy shit.

The picture quality.. the sound... the scale.. and the 3D! I can't get over how good everything was! I thought the 3D would be OK at best, but I was wrong. It looked fucking amazing. When the rain is hitting the windows and the T-Rex looks in...wow.

My Rex is ready.

Also, my god does JP4 need to film in 3D and use life sized animatronics. The fucking scale mixed with 3D made me enjoy 3D more than ever before. It just fucking works phenomenally.

Amin to that. I have been saying that for some time now. CGI looks dated after few months or a year. JP still looks great and there is a reason for that.

I am so hyped lol. I gonna change my facebook picture and the top picture to something from movie too. Looking for something. JP JP JP.

After rewatching the first movie today I was thinking why didnt they inplant small explosives in the T-REX and Raptors heads? Or make them wear explosive collars?

Seems like the best way to stop them in the event of them breaking free.

A dead dino would represent a significant loss - tens of millions at least.

In the book Hammond is so utterly blinded by his faith in the project/greed that he would never allow them use anything like that. For him the lysine contingency was enough.

because the fences were completely fine and they weren't expecting a fucking nutcase to unlock everything in the middle of a tropical storm and then get his face eaten off.

'life finds a way' is bollocks. 'Men are twats' should have been his line.

edit: I didn't realise this was being re-released at the cinema in 3D. and the impressions seem good.

But it doesn't seem to be coming to the UK until bloody AUGUST 30 :/

So, Universal renewed JURASSICPARKEXTINCTION.com back in November.. Some speculate that it may be the name of JP4, but its worth noting the domain was purchased in 1999 and was a title for JP3 at a point. Im just gonna guess Universal decided to renew all of their JP related domains just in case (they also did JurassicPark4.com).

Anyways, here are some of the old JP Extinction posters from the JP3 dvd/bluray

I wonder how different the early story concepts were when those posters were made.

Hammond was entirely opposed to killing the animals, but yes, that would have been a good idea. Still, it makes sense why he didn't do it.

The human embryo concept logos were just bizarre.

I'm rather glad they didn't use the name "Extinction" because that implies a distinct ending to me.

Jurassic Park III really is the perfect title for that film as it stands now. That's really all it is, the third Jurassic Park film.

Hopefully JP4 will have a better title.

I was at Walmart yesterday and noticed Jurassic Park stand alone blu-ray! grabbed that baby up! it came with 8 dollars towards the 3D film that I am going to see anyways.

Life finds a way.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

The current Blu-ray looks pretty awful. I hope it didn't cost more than you're saving on the ticket.

So, those Factory Entertainment JP "Shakems" Bobble Heads have seen huge upgrades.. They had reached out to the fan forums for critique:

Before/After

Next step, painting- which they also reached out to the fans on how to paint them. These went from a "no way" to a "will buy if paint is good" for me.. I believe he said they will retail from around $20-$30.

Me and my wife saw it in the theaters this past weekend and loved it. The 3D was well done, but honestly, it wasn't the selling point. I just wanted to see JP in the theater again.

I was 13 when I saw the movie in 1993 20 years ago with my mom. It was a thrill to see it 20 years later at 33 with my wife. The movie is still as entertaining for me then as it was now. I was a little annoyed at the super young kids people brought to the theater who wouldn't shut up, but the slightly older kids (10 and up), were behaved and seemed to love the movie as well.

The T-Rex Paddock attack is still fucking amazing, both visual effects wise, and tension/pacing wise. So, so good.

That scene is amazing in IMAX. So fucking incredible, both in visuals and sound. Every time I see that scene it feels like is my first time.

Definitely looks better, but still slightly cartoony.

Yup, I guess they are meant to be a tad cartoony. The art director did say a tight deadline stopped them from completely resculpting them, so I assume they would be better if he had more time. He just took over the project recently. Its all going to come down to the paintwork, so hopefully they pull it off. We gave them a great collection of source material at the very least.

Same for me, and I've seen that movie so many times that I know it by heart, but that scene gets me every time. Love it.

It was also a kick to see some of the young kids watching it in the theater with us who weren't even born when this movie released react to the dinosaurs. This one kid who was about 10 told his mom "That was awesome!" as they were leaving. Lol.
