Media Create Sales: Week 9, 2013 (Feb 25 - Mar 03)

I'm shocked!

I thought PSV would do around 20-30k. I'm really surprised it's remained steady this week.

Even thought it beat my predictions, would you guys consider these sales a success?

Not that impressive for Vita to be identical to last week, and 3DS had to have had a bit of a drop to be below Vita to be outsold by it.

Legs is key.

Innocence R did 57,838 first week BTW.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
I'm still skeptical that this will lead to a permanent baseline increase, but I don't think you can dispute that this is a good hardware number.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
I think it's a good hardware number.

Good hw numbers maybe, software isnt really selling so much that we can call it impressive. This are or were pretty much the biggest software days for the next couple months on Vita right ?

This is definitely the last vita tales. Now that is the failure of the week

These last two weeks was Sony's desperate final attempt to save the system so it all comes down to the hold

Okay numbers for Soul Sacrifice.

Vita numbers are a double edged sword. It (barely) outsold the 3DS riding on the back of its first price drop and a couple new releases.

Wow, really good Vita numbers. :)

Soul Sacrifice 10k more than my prediction. Though with 63k Vitas sold I would have predicted 120-130k for SS.
I would like to know the digital sales.

Btw. whats the 22k? Is that the dual-pack?
If yes, then it would be even 92 + 44k?

It's Laguna

What is that supposed to mean. I´m just beeing honest, that´s all. Just look at my prediction.

With this kind of sales you can´t impress any 3rd party publisher. But if it makes you all happy. "It did amazing for Vitas standard".

Vita did a bit better than I expected, Soulsac a bit worse, and lol @ Hearts demake. I wonder if they'll even bother to push through with Tempest R still?

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Decent number for Vita, since we must consider there were bundles too. Great number for Soul Sacrifice, it's been quite a while before seeing another SCEJ game debuting with 100k+.

But now there are big problems for Vita. I mean: the future lineup.

Again, this is Vita. Soul Sacrifice will end up the third or fourth best selling title on the platform. It seemingly managed to push hardware on the gasping platform a little.

Holy shit Vita is actually higher than 3DS this week

There is a God!

On a serious note, these are pretty good numbers. Here's hoping it will stabilize a bit better now.

Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
Oh and just this once a Tales game bombed that can't be blamed on a Ninty platform. Which just show show bad ToH is lol.

Given how stable Vita hardware is for the week, it's a bit strange SS didn't do more.

Haha, given that to actually make Tempest half decent would require way more effort...I think they just might not bother - unless all R projects were greenlit near simultaneously.

Hearts R should have been 2D :\

Good because fuck 2D Tales becoming 3D.
Agreed.

I kinda expected a slight increase as well. But I guess holding on is better than nothing.

Yeah, it's good that it's staying afloat for now but it begs the question how long it'll take for it to plunge back if this week is a slight decrease. I expected SS + recent price drop to have a bit more of an impact considering last week's results.

Let's see the next few weeks. I agree it pushed hardware, but right now that push looks similar to the 3 other times Vita had significant releases.

SS will be a success if it keeps pushing hardware in the weeks ahead.

Sony Fans will call it a resounding success.
Sony Haters will call it a failure when Major Launch + price drop + special pack can only get you just above ordinary 3DS week..

So it depends on what glasses you want to wear..

Its success looking at past Vita sales and its okay looking at general handheld market. where a major launch can easily sell 100k+ of hardware

We shouldn't discount DD sales for SS since DD prices of Sony games are cheaper than retail afaik. SS should get decent DD sales.

Yeah I did as well. I guess the real story will be painted next week in reguards to SS's staying power.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
100k+ for a new Vita IP is a win in my book! 60k was at the top end for my Vita prediction in earnest, so CELEBRATIONS.

A bit above my expectations (Vita 50k / SS 90k).

Boring numbers though, nothing surprising. Let's see how both perform from now on.

And hopefully this will teach some lessons about early Tsutaya charts.

I doubt it will manage to push hardware going forward. This is sort of a last hurrah, I imagine.

IIRC, sell-through numbers were ~70% - not sure if that was first day or full week? If first day, is that indicative that it will have sold most of the shipment? If whole week, then I imagine it will drop quite fast.
