I almost feel bad for it, but if one of the improvements is either Off-TV play or wiimote support (as if...) then I will buy it. Even though I have it on PS3 (but stopped playing it before ever leaving Detroit). Will wait till it's about 30-40€, though

What a lost cause. If this costed 20 bucks, it would succeed much more and get more people from the Nintendo audience into the Deus Ex IP. Heck, I'd get the game for the third time if it costed that.

Never played the original, aware it is much loved. Would you recommend this as a purchase? Does it stand on its own two legs?

the gold works pretty well with the blue wii u logo.

i think the only reason this is getting made is if they're planning on building a base for the franchise on the console before another one in the franchise comes out. $50 isn't bad, but it's also a two year old game.

I will probably get it even if it's so much money for a two year old game. It's one of the most immortal of the generation, and who knows? There might be real changes.

It does. Great game overall, but there's some kinda frustraiting boss fights sprinkled throughout.

Although there was a rumor that Eidos might have re-tooled them for a re-release.

Director better had cut the awful bosses.

that would be great. Maybe make it possible to beat them with stealth only. But I somehow doubt they changed much in-game.

Makes me hopeful that the Zelda covers won't be awful.

I'm going to take a guess and say they didn't add enough for that price tag, but apparently according to Gambit we might find out on Wednesday.

I read it in the Wii U games 2013 thread and listened to the linked podcast myself:

They said that one editor (Heinrich Lenhardt) has seen Deus Ex for Wii U yesterday on an event and that Sqaure Enix made a lot of changes in the game. On Wednesday they will post the article.

Great game, definitely play it if you have not yet. PC version would be better but I'm guessing that's not an option?

Can't vouch for this particular version mind you, though you'd hope that the Wii U wouldn't have any issues hitting at least the same notes as the PS3/360 version.

Yup easily. Fantastic game. Not necessarily as in-depth as the original, of course, but still a very good game. Fantastic atmosphere and soundtrack too.

Hopefully it carries over to the Wii U well.

Still wondering though, this is such an old game, why are they bothering unless they're reinstating something substantial?

this is actually pretty cool. I'd love to play this version with the pad.

should be at the least $40, though

boxart is kinda cool too

I wonder what that "Neural Hub" will be. I hope it's not just a minimap or an inventory/database screen, even if the name might suggest so.

So The Missing Link DLC, the pre-order mission, and the weapon packs.

All hacking is done with the pad, you go through menus on the pad.

Why is this $50? Human Revolution on it's own is only $20 at most retailers, missing link DLC is $10. $30 should be the max price for this, $50 is pretty steep for a year and a half port.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I'm interested to see what they do with the second screen but I don't see who's going to buy this, not at this price. Do these late ports ever do well?

Late ports are late ........

Why not tomb raider?

Tomb Raider would be a simple, fine port -- but eh, Deus Ex fits the Wii U much better. Many of the game's mechanics will work well with the GamePad. I think it's a much better investment to build an audience for that franchise on the Wii U.

Then again, they must port Tomb Raider too, soon. It's a reboot, which means it's a good chance for the audience to build fairly well. Maybe they're holding this for TR's own Director's Cut.

lol 50 bucks (which will translate to 60€ in Yurop). It's like they're openly looking for failure just so they don't have to support the machine ever again. Apparently they never learnt about Mass Effect 3 bomba, any publisher with half a brain would have cancelled the game after seeing that. Yes, I really think that in these cases no game at all is better than a half-assed effort trying to sell an old game with a "new" price tag.

I mean, we all know we can get this game in Steam for barely 6€ during sales, and it's not like it hasn't been already for MONTHS in the bargain bins all over the planet.

What if this port works as an introductory chapter for the Deus Ex series for those that didn't play it before because they only had a Nintendo console?

I'd expect a new Deus Ex on this years E3, for everything out there (current gen, Wii U, next gen, PC).
