It's been confirmed that as also on the D&DHD trailer, and another game which doesn't have a 3DS equivalent. It's thought that it's because sometimes trailers are on the 3DS eShop for WiiU games. Fellow 3DS owner being bearer of bad news :(

whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?? :'(

oh well get the 360 version

Not actually that important
Wow... Seeing these comics again after all those years brings back a shitload of memories...
Does anyone remember the "Mickey Mouse and the Sword of Ice" trilogy?

ZrBWXMx.jpg

It was my personal "Lord of the rings" when I was growing up. I used to read it religiously up until I was like 12 years old and then I somehow lost my copy.

Of course!
Masterpiece created by none others than great italian Disney author Massimo De Vita,

for both story and art.
I'd love to find the english version of the trilogy quadrilogy!
The saga was originally a trilogy published between 1982 and 1985, then in 1993 a fourth and finally chapter (this time with aid from Massimo Michelini for the dialogues) was made, a 2 parts story called "Mickey Mouse and The Sleeping in-space Beauty" (more or less, since I don't know if an official english translation exists, I know it does in french, dutch, german...).

I do agree that my childhood with the awesome Cimino + Cavazzano duo (and the figure of Scrooge's butler they invented) was awesome. Funny and quite well developed stories as well as awesome drawings. In addition to Topolino, I read a lot of I Classici, Paperino Mese, Zio Paperone, and the MEGA 2000/3000 monthly magazines which contained a lot of foreign Disney artists. Nice that you have deserved props to Marco Rota... The MacPaperin two parts series, probably misspelled hehe, was epic for many reasons :).

I started reading Don Rosa after Topolino took a huge nosedive in quality (and sales) in the mid nineties trying to target kids with super short attention spans with shorter stories, less complex and quite cheaper plots, forgetting that their big target used to be kids + the parents often reading the stories to them and the stories having elements for both really. The series "Il Papero del Mistero" by Silvia Ziche is perhaps Topolino's great hurrah.

Don Rosa is something that maybe Inwould have enjoyed less as a child, even though I am not convicted this is really true, but that now is one of the big reference points for me Disney wise. The way he gave new life to Scrooge and Donald is astounding. His stories are entertaining enough for children, but have tons of more and more complex layers and bits of info for adults character wise too (how many people actually die in a Disney comic?). I cannot express just how much I enjoy his stores hehe :D.

If you like Floyd Gottfredson's adventurous Mickey Mouse, you should definitely check out on Tito Faraci's work for MM, Pete LegPete and Inspector Manetta, it definitely owes the spirit behind his MM to the great F.G. and gave birth to many great stories which for once made me sympathetic towards Mickey.... always hated "detective" Mickey's attitude.
Faraci's "sequel" to Steamboat Willie, a 2 parts story called The River of Time, is amazing.
There's a big volume in b/w published by Einaudi called Topolino Noir, with stories written by Faraci and art by Ziche, Cavazzano, Celoni, Carpi... great book.
Sadly, 90% of today's output is terrible.
I like Don Rosa as well although mainly for his stories, I find his style enjoyable but too busy and a poor man version of 80%Barks/10%Vicar/10%Scarpa mixed together

Would it really though? Cave Story 3D has a similar mode to what this game is doing (sprites in a 3D world), and it looked and ran fairly decent.
Yeah, I think it's a matter of the developer's capabilities, and Wayforward's VERY familiar with 3DS so they could probably do an OK job. In contrast I really don't understand why the fuck Rayman Origins ran at 30 FPS, was it downscaling from a higher resolution or something?

I remember this one, really liked it. Didn't know there was a forth entry. I wonder if it's available in Swedish.

I used to like Don Rosa's stories as a kid but eventually I've grown kinda sour on him. It just doesn't really fit with the characters for me.
The way he gritties up everything and have characters sweat so much, and he often makes his illustrations super busy and over detailed. I don't like his piggybacking on Carl Barks amazing stories and going George Lucas on them, giving them sequels and unneeded backstory.
Barks himeslf even said Rosa should create his own stories, but that didn't stop him.

Considering that Ducktales is one of my favorite games of all time, this is unreservedly amazing news. When I was a kid I thought I was the only person who had ever played the game, but the internet taught me very differently. 42-page NeoGAF topic warms my heart.

Even inspired me to get a DuckTales avatar. Long past overdue.

The 3D backgrounds look much better in that footage. The lightning in particular looks fantastic.

So good to hear Alan Young reprise Scrooge again. He was decent in KH: Birth by Sleep, but to have him back in actual Ducktales stuff is a real treat.

Just an FYI, you can watch Ducktales the series for free on Amazon Instant video if your an Amazon Prime member. Can access it on PS3, Apple tv, 360, etc. etc.

It's been confirmed for Scrooge and the triplets. I don't think we got an answer yet if they are ALL the original cast, but at the very least MOST of them are. Including Alan Young as Scrooge who's 93 years old.

I could have swore I heard Magica DeSpell speaking during one of the cutscenes in those gameplay videos. Sounded just like Natasha. Was my mind playing tricks on me?

She did speak and it does sound spot on, but I don't think anyone has confirmed it's her or just a really good sound alike. The only confirmed ones that I know of are the ones I mentioned. A capcom rep actually confirmed those (think it as greggaman during the stream video).

Since this has a summer release he's probably already done all his voice work. And hopefully they have already recorded some for a potential sequal. You know... just in case....

I just hope they add more levels so it is a bit longer.

They're expanding all the stages in the game. It's not just a graphic change. Watch the gameplay videos from PAX. The Transylvania stage as it is already has a few new areas, 3 new miniboss fights, and a greatly expanded boss fight. They also changed the flow of the stage such that you have to go through the entire stage before you can unlock the boss fight itself, which is different from the original.

May I have a cookie?
Man, so many feels!

From coming home from school and watching Duck Tales on Disney Afternoon to reading the comic books to going to the cinema and seeing the movie on a huge screen. Such an amazing series. I think part of what made it so endearing was the genuinely interesting writing. Everything was fantastical and yet felt firmly grounded in reality at the same time. It did wonders for the sense of immersion!

I have an EU PS3, but can I use my brother's Amazon account with my US account to watch them?

Depends, are you in the US? They IP check. So while we have Amazon (US) Prime we live in Japan and get told to go screw ourselves because we're not in the States.
