Koei Tecmo put out a press release today announcing reorgnizations to their corporate and development structure. The main point of interest is that Team Ninja is being split into Ichigaya Development Group 1 and Ichigaya Development Group 2.

Yosuke Hayashi, currently head of Team Ninja, will be the head of Ichigaya Development Group 1, and Keisuke Kikuchi, currently a senior manager in Team Ninja, will be the head of Ichigaya Development Group 2.

Looks like the Team Ninja brand = RIP. About time, after all those stinkers they put out. :p

They died in 2008. Hayashit needs to go do something else. Hentai games seems to be right up his alley. Penis on Bone mechanic.

Think about the amount of computing power that NASA put into the first moon mission.

Now think about the amount of computing power Team Ninja put into the 'boob physics' of a Dead Or Alive game.

Maybe it's nothing.

*takes draw on cigarette*

Maybe it's everything.

No more Team Ninja. Huh. I wonder what was the reasoning behind this reorganization? Inefficiency? Not very profitable?

This will definitely affect their game output.

Why so much hate? I didn't follow that team very much, but it's pretty hard for them!
Still that mad about Other M, GAF? Or what?

Oh, maybe then. Then in 5 years Nintendo will buy them from them.

It would be a better outcome than him having to serve as producer on the the NGS Vita ports and whatever. He used to produce all sorts of original stuff at Tecmo, so maybe he'll go back to doing that again.

Oh they are just reorganizing reorganizing and not "reorganizing."
I wish something would happen to make Team Ninja think differently.

Team Ninja is not as has not been making the quality products for Tecmo Koei.

Or are they involved in Fatal Frame? Fatal Frame II was easily one of the best games out of Tecmo Koei. Whatever happens to Team Ninja, I hope it leads to more games of the quality of Fatal Frame and less games of the quality of Dead or Alive.

Tecmo should rethink their strategy of releasing DOA5 late on the Vita and charging an obscene amount of money for it. Then again most devs should rethink the Vita anyway!

Pretty sad news.

DOA5 was great.

No other Japanese dev can pull off a game that caters to "that particular demographic" and have AAA quality visuals at the same time. Other games of that persuasion are often budget releases with inferior graphics and production values that are often released on the handhelds.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

Ninja Gaiden 3 was far more of an insult than Other M.

Other M was Sakamoto's doing.

Which group gets the last remnants of otameal cookies?

I sat here trying to remember Oatmeal's true name but couldn't. I just wanted to say that I hope that his game, Devil's Third, will actually be worth a damn. Would be neat to see how he strides while Team Ninja fell without him.

DoA5 was pretty fun though, what little I played of it.

The important questions this really, what happens to Yaiba? And did anyone tell Inafune?

He has important creator decision to make, you know, being a real (tm) game creator for platforms for real creators.

Why would anything happen to Yaiba? It's being developed by Spark Unlimited. No one at Team Ninja seems to be losing their jobs or anything either, it is just an internal team/naming restructure. Why would it have any impact?

Hopefully this can help them get their shit together.

Well, this is embarrassing. I saw it on the TN site and forgot it was out-sourced.

Also I really don't like Inafune

So we know it's going to be a great game.
