i liked it better when classic gameplay/difficulty wasn't relegated to special modes

Most gamer's rarely finish games in the first place. The option should exist for those of us willing to go through extra mile, but I understand why they need to go this route.

It would be fine if they disabled the modern-gaming garbage in tandem with handling difficulty settings the way the other Thief games did.

Recent example: 1999 mode in Bioshock Infinite. A half assed attempt to put as a bullet point on the back of the box.

Will people ever learn? Nope.

Nope because we fall for it every time. You can't make something out of nothing, but you can take something and reduce it to nothing. Yet no one ever tries the latter, it's always the former in these games. And it never works out.

I like how he says "gamers are more demanding" today compared to ten years ago. Yeah right. Can't really say the franchise is ruined though. It kind of shit the bed anyway once Thief 3 was released. Who knows, maybe they'll be able to pull off another Human Revolution.

edit: lol, I just wrote that and then unpaused the video and he mentions the success they had doing that with HR.
