To be fair though there have been some really great survival horror games this gen. Penumbra, Amneshia, Condemned, Siren, SH Downpour (decent), and then all the free to play stuff like SCP 087-B and Slender. But there hasn't been a Resident Evil style game that did horror well in ages.

Too bad those weren't made available on consoles/PS3. I really wish Amnesia's sequel would be released on next-gen consoles as well, as my old laptop isn't really up to the task.

I dunno, a new IP being announced this late for the current generation would need more than a CG teaser to get people to pay attention. Or at least that's what I hope.

Not when it has Shinji Mikami's name paired with survival horror all over it.

Most people have a PC/ laptop that would run any of the games listed, they are built by small teams and use very basic game engines, some run off Unity. So I would think that sort of invalidates the console argument.

If there are no ingame stuff, I hope it's something cool so they can get people's attention, their games really could use some good marketing.

Do you think Mikami's name really has much selling power? It seems that other than Resident Evil (which is a huge brand regardless of whose name is attached to it), there isn't really a huge audience jumping on anything with his name on it...

Why are you still so tied to the PS3? Do yourself a favour, get a nice PC and play all of these horror games you've been missing out on. You can also emulate some of the GCN/Wii ones that you skipped.

"Hey, isn't this the teasers?" "The teasers WERE the trailer!"

Hoping for very good things here.

Agree with others that a new IP this late is weird...but still can Mikami and survival horror has me excited.

I honestly don't expect a third party survival horror game for current gen consoles to sell very well regardless. Especially if it launches during or after this coming holiday season. It will sell well to people like us who know the team involved and enjoy the genre, and unless it has crazy marketing, I would imagine that would be it.

I was talking about the fans with my comment, not the gaming audience as a whole, as I think the game will be ignored by them.

It'll be a 5 second teaser of a random character!

shadows of damned and vanquish were games I liked though...

but, yes, sometimes I dream of Mikami and Kamiya still riding the Capcom bus rather than soloing on a Harley...

IPs have huge impact. just look at Rising vs other PG games.

Yeah I'll agree with that. But considering how this is a Zenimax game and Tango is owned by Zenimax... I think they have high expectations. We'll see in a few minutes.
