No one really know anything other than what she posted on youtube and that her twitch account is now closed.

4chan is hardly a reputable source of information.

Ugh... even if the life-threatening injury claim turned out to be bullshit (which is still unclear?), it's still super depressing that things ended up this way. I suppose it just demonstrates the kind of emotional hardship that transgendered individuals can face.

Added this to OP, a comment from 4chan:

Anonymous 05/13/13(Mon)01:40 No.189513408 i watched it live. was kind of boring. she was laying down in a bed then she took some pills or something i couldnt tell, and then the channel was shut down by a twitch admin before police arrived or anything so i just saw her laying down on her bed

rather than trawling through CSI reddit, i think it's fairly reasonable to say that you can deduce what happened from these two posts:

from the project zomboid people: http://www.theindiestone.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=186717#p186717

from chloe herself: http://www.theindiestone.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=186659#p186659

what a mess.
Thank you for these.

Wario64, you may want to add these two posts to the OP for more context.

ghst already said it, but seriously what a mess this is.

disregarding if the indigogo was a scam or not, this really sucks. I mean she lost support from her mother for heaven sakes and some of the comments here.....

R.I.P. to her if she did commit suicide. I'm hoping someone called for help.

It was revealed that the person was more or less lying and trying to scam people to fund her sex change. I am guessing this led to this unfortunate situation if it has indeed happened

It wasn't revealed. It was just speculated and some people backed up their assumptions with more assumptions and terribly piecing stuff together.

Regardless of what the money was for, sex change or surgery to remove the metal, she needed the money for medical reasons, she needed help. She didn't need the Internet bombarding her and calling her a scammer and insulting her for something that may or may not have been true.

Sad, Rest In Peace Chloe, it's a shame you didn't get the help you need and it's a shame you had to take your on life. If only people were more understanding and were more willing to lend a helping hand :/

It doesn't mean much in hindsight, but I'm going to give Homesick a try, I bet it's a great game.

EDIT:
Added this to OP, a comment from 4chan:

I hope she survives, and this time she gets all the help she needs, and deserves. :/

Seems like a fucked up situation all around regardless of what is true.

If the Indiegogo thing was a scam it's messed up to pull a stunt like that.
If the Indiegogo thing wasn't a scam it's messed up that she would need to croud fund a life-saving operation.
If she really did commit suicide on a live broadcast that's messed up.
If she didn't and it wasn't a cry for help then that's not cool either.

Pretty much every angle to this story sucks.

I think it's best that everyone gives her some space.

... I would say if it wasn't for the fact that she is depressed. Perhaps some community reach-out initiative (that does not involve stalking or e-detectivery) might actually be helpful?
Like sending her a get-well card... actually, scratch that - a card might very well be interpreted as an insult.

Yeah, I think that pretty much sums it up.

I watched a first look on YouTube recently. Looked pretty scary.

hahaha, let me just commit suicide on a videogaming streaming website to get noticed at least enough to satisfy my cravings, even if just for a moment!

still gets trumped by league of legends

One more thing ...

Is these what "us" gamers are ??? I always love to think of my self as a gamer even tho I don't look in what a gamer should look like

But you and some are what makes me think that at time people are right about the way they talk about gamers your a sad case of human being it's not even cus u may be what to most a "typical" gamer would be ur just a sad case of human being ...

On top of in a way understanding the state of mind of the person and wanting to make pain go away to a point u even think of ending it all is impossible to understand or even judge some one who actually goes thru with something like she did ...

Well the point is I been around here for a lot of years and "trolling" system wars and a Xbox 360 or a ps3 is one thing "trolling" some ones life is fuck up and some of u are terrible human beings

Sad very damn sad

This person was in a shitty situation, and they didn't help themselves by holding back information.
Seems to me like they were caught lying about their situation, and instead of coming clean they just took the 'there's more to this situation that I can't talk about because its dangerous ' route.

I cannot respect her for what she did regarding the donations, nor do I respect her decision to end her life. RIP or whatever.

:/

So, I hope it's not too much to ask for people to just sit back, relax and wait for me to handle this. I can guarantee that many of you are operating on a lack of information, I know because I wanted it to be this way. I know it's difficult for some people to understand but I am really in a dangerous situation, kind of a damned if I do damned if I don't, and unfortunately I chose to "don't".

I never understood. Was this a man trying to be a lady, or a lady trying to be a man?
Does it matter?

Rest in peace Chloe, I don't care what your reasons were in the end but nobody should ever be driven over that terrifying edge.

Authorities where she lives were called while the stream occurred so there is a good chance they may have gotten to her.
I hope so.

I really, really hate the internet at the moment. Reading those youtube comments was brutal and... fucking internet.

I get the sense that the NeoGafShitPosts twitter will have a field day in this thread.

From wikipedia: "Average fatality rate for overdoses in the US is estimated to be only 1.8%."

It is very likely that she is still alive. With what we know, this is an attempt, nothing more. If people actually knew where she lives and contacted authorities, more likely than not she is in a hospital right now receiving treatment.

Why do I get the feeling that if she survives, the conspiracy-eejits will jump up and declare the attempted suicide as proof they're correct?

Same reason why most people want to he some kind of half-gods chosen by heaven to become immortal when they are actually just little vicious naked monkey shits.
They feel that way.

That's shockingly low. I hope she's all right.

What a mess.

I don't think we have enough information to understand what is going on. She might needed the surgery and it might have been a life threatening situation indeed, but also it might be a fraud and she wanted to get the money for other purposes.

Fraud or not, suicide is a no laughing matter; I hope she is still alive.

There is no such thing as "the internet." Anonymity simply allows browbeaten limpdicks to spew the bullshit online that would get them humiliated in their real, cowardly lives.

If the rumors are true and this thing was about her lying about the surgery, it's doubly sad. I have no doubt she'd raise the funds needed if she was open about it.

The irony was that, even despite the rumours, she did reach the funding target.

And then Indiegogo pulled the plug and refunded everyone.

VIdcon, you are scum of the earth and you deserve a permaban for that.

IT: While this is sad, why wwould someone want to look at a young girl killing herself?

I hope that the authorities are able to help her if they were contacted.
Though, if she was suffering to the point of suicide, I don't know if that's necessarily a good or bad thing.

Is actually reasonable when you think of it. The people who aren't dying are vomiting when unconscious and then receiving medical treatment afterwards. Pretty much the only way you could guarantee suicide with pills is if you put duct tape over your mouth and lay down in a bath tub full of water.

I'm not trying to be morbid or insensitive, I'm just pointing out that this is a cry for help. Especially if you're streaming it. You are begging for someone to finally give a fuck and truly save your life... I hope she gets the help she needs whatever it may be.

Hope she's alright. I think suicide is a thoughtless way to go out, so I hope she gets help from someone. There are too many organizations and people out there that want to prevent shit like this. It only takes a phone call. Without knowing her, it's easy to say "don't do it!" I hope someone who does know her helps her out.

A lot of details in this is blurry though, so there's not much one can comment on.

Curiosity, disbelief, shock value, need I go on?
I admit the first thought that came to my mind was to browse her twitch archive to see if she actually went through with it.

I understand why she would feel the need to lie about the surgery -- assuming that's even the case. There is a huge amount of negative pressure and stigma placed on trans people, and gender surgery is basically the focal point unto which all that negativity can be focused on.

She perhaps might have felt that she would not gain much traction with a 'Fund my surgery that 80% of people believe is unnecessary / insane / sick / evil' campaign.

I really hope the authorities were able to get to her in time.

I'm not sure why we're discussing the Indiegogo "scam" at this very moment. Whether she lived or died is what's of current importance, the fact that we're talking about the veracity of her statements right now seems a little bit tactless, isn't it? Not to mention entirely academic now that the damage has been done. That discussion can wait a day, everyone can put away their internet P.I. badges and take a day off. How about we hope she's safe for now instead?

what a fucking asshole

livestreaming a suicide?

im not condemning her or saying she didnt have issues and it's none of my business, but doing it live is just incredibly bad form for me.

It's done as a way for a person in a fragile state to confirm a suspicion of the horrors of humanity that they feel they have endured. "Do people value me more dead than alive?" is a common question among some suicidal people... the internet unfortunately gives them a way to find the metric.

My condolences to all the people she left behind. As for her...I can't say anything since I don't follow the events, but I have to say livestreaming your suicide is not a good idea for all the people that know her.

Suicidal people are generally well beyond the point of acknowledgement of what it does to others, and it sounds like she didn't think she was leaving behind anyone who cared for her.

It's a black hole. Those comments are inhumane.

Internet anonymity and the culture it's created doesn't look so good or innocuous when the by-product stares back at you from the abyss, I know. Makes you wonder the real reason people campaign so hard to keep it.

Is this all some sort of prank?

From talking about suicide and posting this at 1:30am:
"ima scraed
jing let me dis in eopslkl
it's gosiafn so slow ice ant take it"
which would naturally lead people to assume the worst, to posting an animated gif of Nixon's head in a jar later in the day...

Some of the guys posting those comments were using their full name and pics. Some people are just dicks and don't care(or don't notice).
