RELEASE_ShantaeGBC_VC_KeyArt%20small.png

The original Shantae, oft referred to as the Game Boy Color's "swan song" will be belly dancing her way onto Virtual Console soon. Just take a gander at that shiny new box art! This beloved bit of gaming history was previously only available in North America. Not this time! Shantae will be making appearances in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand; wherever good times are had. Unfortunately we will not be able to announce a specific release date (June 20th) at this time. Check back angrily and often at www.wayforward.com to discover the Shantae's secret release date (that's June 20th) in the days and weeks ahead. See you on June 20th!

Not that I could warrant paying $7 for it anyway when it's been a buck, or two on Steam a thousand times.

Yeah, I probably wasn't going to double dip anyway; got it on sale off of PSN years ago.

I don't think there will be SNES/GBA games on 3DS. I think there SHOULD be, especially in the manner of cross play and stuff like that, but Nintendo is dumb and they don't allocate appropriate resources to help their VC team out. Which they should.

Because like everyone say last week on this forum, with people playing Super Metroid VC for the first time and posting stuff on Miiverse on if the game rocks/sucks/or they're stuck, that's awesome. You can get tons of moments like that playing VC games. Its why Nintendo really needs to put more of their muscle on that so people can turn on their WiiU/3DS more often.

EDIT: Honestly what irks me lately is the order in which the games are released. I like SMB2/SMW tons. But why not release SMB1/SMB2 one week and then SMB3/SMW the next week? I guess I just like trying to play the games in order. =p

Downloaded Runner 2 and beat world 1 yesterday, tried playing today and I get an error everytime. Tried to transfer it to the system memory and it won't transfer. I guess my save file must be corrupt? Is this the same problem others were having before?

Finally the Oracle games are close to coming out. I remembered thinking they were going to release them during their E3 conference last year.

Only a year late.

Can't wait to play Shantae soon as well.

So has M2 managed to invent a 3D Button they can press to make games 3D? Because they're just pumping these things out.

I downloaded Crash City Mayhem, it's kinda like crazy taxi, the game is old school dreamcast/arcade in looks and play

ok it's not the best racer ever, some frame issues but for a mindless bit of fun it's ok

I would give it 6-7/10 so far..

Hmm is there any way to connect the 3DS to the internet if the only connection you have access to is a 3G one? Would Hotspot Lite work?

I don't want to miss out on the oracle games :/

If you can create a Wi-Fi hotspot for your 3G connection, you should be set to download games (though maybe a little slowly.) Playing online games that are latency-sensitive might be tricky, but yeah, shouldn't stand in the way of downloading.

I've downloaded games from eShop using my iPhone 4 as a hotspot, so I can confirm it can be done. They download slower, obviously, but GBC games aren't too big anyway.

So Gunman Clive is out in japan today. Any j-gaffers downloaded it? Any reviews up in the eShop yet? I've been trying to gauge the reactions on twitter etc, and there seems to be a decent amount of talk but I have no idea what they're saying. Google translate barely makes it any easier to understand

Bare with me 5 mins Beril. I'll edit this post as opposed to make another...
Edit: here goes. It's not on the front page but when you scroll over the new download releases it appears as so...

It has 14 5 star reviews at present. It's not in any top twenty yet but they're notorious slow starters (save for Tomodachi, Animal Crossing, Super Mario etc)

How's Starship Damrey? Looks like an old school Shadowgate style game in 3D.

It's not as good as it should be, unfortunately. The puzzles are pretty straightforward and the story is sparse. It could really have used a lot more random documents to find and read. Pretty good atmosphere, though.

I kinda dig the sparse story, but straight forward puzzles are a killer :^(

I hope it's successful over in Japan for you. Can't wait for your next game which I've seen you give a short interview that it's a top down Zelda Link to the Past inspired game?

Good luck, Beril. Keep us posted on how it sells, considering how big the market is in Japan.

I have yet to buy your game cause I'm working on clearing my backlog but it actually looks great and i'll pick it up some time soon.

I was pretty excited to see it on the Japanese eshop, but I already had the NA version, so I didn't buy it. My Japanese isn't too strong, but if I can translate any reviews, I will. The name has been changed to Gunman Story.

And keep making games. I had a blast with Clive. Perfect Megaman controls go a long way.

Only for the three Kirby games I take it?

Yup.

Hmm. I have Super Star on Wii and was planning to get Dream Course anyway. So if I system transfer now, I'd get Dream Land 3 for free. Can I overcome my laziness and do the system transfer...?

Don't forget Project X Zone and Rabbids 3DS demos.

PXZ demo's only in Europe for now. :(

Is that some Dragon Quest to the right? What is that about?

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
...Interesting.
Just checked eShop, and it says Project X Zone launch price will be 34.99 Euros on eShop.

It's nice that we got this deal so soon after Japan got it. Gives me more faith in NOA.

I already have Kirby Superstar so I may just upgrade that. Don't need to bother with the others, but the deal is nice considering it's Buy 2 Get 1 Free if you want them all.

Yeah, I might do thus too as it seems I could get all three Kirby games for $9. Gotta look into backing up my Brawl save first though.
