I have a USA Today in my hands right now and this is both real and a Kinect game. It's coming out for 360 and Xbone next year.

Other details:
-You are the new sorcerer's apprentice
- Kinect puts your silhouette on the screen
- "By reaching out towards the screen, you transform the objects you linger on"
- More than 25 songs
- Bohemian Rhapsody is one of them, has three different versions: original, orchestral, and 80's heavy metal ballad
- Apparently you can customize mixes and share them with others?

Oh... So it's not like actual Fantasia, it's their own Fantasia.

No petals? Snowflakes? Dinosaurs? All drawn with the Disney faux-reality? It's their own cartoony style, that .....

Okay, I'll wait till I see the trailer, but that screen doesn't look like what I was excited about. The art style looks bleh.

Right... because Fantasia's all about 80's heavy metal.

So it sounds like a next generation Rock Band, but using Kinect.

Seems a bit odd to announce a big-budget Kinect exclusive at this point... didn't that bubble kinda burst? Oh well, still sounds pretty interesting.

Oh my, and it's Kinect.

This is like Epic Mickey again, after that amazing concept art.

So fucking close, yet so horrendously far. Harmonix, why!?

I was so excited.

HAHAH.People moaning about Kinect. Wait, you wanted this to be a pad based music game? For real? Looks like a great kids focued music game, which there are really not many at all outside of Just Dance etc and then its just (fake) dancing.

Looks like a major jump for Harmonix to get supported by Disney for a new title.

Oh man, not a good sign.

Still I hope they are success, but I feel they will have a hard time to find the improvement after Dance Central 2 failed to bigger.

In my dearest of dreams, this was the Action/Adventure title Harmonix were rumoured to make that would use music as its central mechanic, the original score of the film including Rite of Spring, Night on Bald Mountain, Sorceror's Apprentice etc. You'd play as Mickey trying to break an evil silence and restore music to the world, or something like that. It would have hopefully remove the bad taste of Epic Mickey.

But I mean, dreams are dreams. After Beatles: Rock Band I sort of had faith in Harmonix to be painfully dedicated to the source material. We know too little anyway right now, we'll see how this turns out.

That sounds terrible.

Harmonix has fallen so far since their Rock Band 2 heyday.

Huh. If this is true, then it's almost certainly a Kinect game. Which means MS has secured a Harmonix exclusive game and a Disney exclusive IP for launch.

A billion bucks buys a lot of toys.

To be fair, there's other potential ways of doing a rhythm game. We've been doing them for quite a few years before Kinect. Maybe you were born in 2010 or something?

It's not like "Fantasia" is even a big Disney name. Last thing they tried was Fantasia 2000 which was... poor, to say the least. The Mickey Sorceror character is the only popular aspect of it.

I love Fantasia by the way, I'm just saying it's a fairly obscure Disney IP.

Button matching is old hat. Has been since they swapped pad buttons for plastic guitar buttons and even that has died out. Kinect showed that Dancing games work damn well on it, so time to move onto Music as well.

Kids focused game and they don't want to be mashing Arrows in the right direction. Kinect 2.0 should be an interesting bit of tech to prove if this is hte right direction or not.

One less kinect game for the conference on the 10th then??
But seriously my son will probably get a kick out of this kind of game

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.
This was already a nonstarter for me since it requires a peripheral I'm unwilling to pay for, but—

- Bohemian Rhapsody is one of them, has three different versions: original, orchestral, and 80's heavy metal ballad
Wow. I like Bohemian Rhapsody well enough, but I would neither expect nor want to hear it in anything Fantasia-related. (...I'm sure the audience HMX is aiming for will appreciate it, though.)

Only way they can profit out of this is by packing the Disney name for free with every XBone or maybe even Xbox Live Gold. For a second, I thought there might have been something for me there :(
