Wprost: The Witcher 3 debuting at Microsoft's E3 conference

They still wouldn't be able to disable the 24hr check system.

Or the restricted gifting/trading.

If people think pubs can just leave things as they've always been, well, that doesn't tally up with what MS has said. According to that, if a publisher 'opts out' that means used trade/gifting of their games is blocked entirely. Opting in means they're enabling trading, but only through the approved channels as controlled by the DRM system.

I expect a lot of multiplatform games to be shown at the Microsoft presser, in a way that suggests they are platform exclusives.

The greatest thing I could imagine would be that they get booed when announced just for the hypocrisy of the thing if they do end up showing up at Microsoft's event.
I love the series and look forward to 3 but this sends a massive wrong message.

I'd be surprised if CDP manages to go on stage at the MS conference without turning it into an ad for GOG.com. This is a company that thought it'd be a good idea to pretend to go out of business as a publicity stunt.

Great news. This way we'll all be positively surprised when we get the actual next-gen PS4/PC versions.

Of all the studios in the world, CD Project, precisely CD project...

If they also announce exclusive Xbone content it's going to be a shitstorm.

If that is true I will lose all respect I had for CDP. Bunch of liars that play the "DRM bad" card to get a upper hand against their competitors while they happily associate their title with the most disgusting DRM currently in existence. I would literally boycott them.

If the Witcher 3 gets an Xbone release it must come with exclusive content, and I'm using Microsoft's expansive definition of the word, one being compromising DRM.

Why? Exclusive content has never turned out to be anything meaningful I think ever.

Doesnt matter what you believe in....everyone has a price

Well they are multiplatform and regardless of what the platform holders want to implement, TW3 will be on it. At least CDPR's own GOG.com sells software sans DRM.

That said, from the point of perception, it looks awkward (almost hypocritical) when one compnay who vehemently and publicly opposes DRM is premiering their flagship title on the hardware of a company that's so passionately for it.

Of course, this is all supposing that it's anything more than a rumour since Kagari said it'd be shown behind closed doors at E3.

It is 99% false. Dude is contributor and wprost is sort of like Newsweek. They do not have any contact or gaming side of their mag beside 2-3 columns.

If that news would come from CD-Action or PSX EXTREME i would believe it.

Knowing CDProjeckt, it'd be highly unlike them to do any sort of exclusive content for consoles. Interesting considering they also mentioned there wont' be any public showing at E3 for Witcher 3.

Doubt it ready to be shown, at best its a CGI trailer, more likely the article is just wrong.

Unless, PS4 is implementing something similar and they didn't want to miss out on another revenue stream. Until Sony comes out officially, we have to expect the worse. I understand Sony has gone on record saying they wont have an always online system check, but crazier things have happened.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

It will be, at the very least, shown behind closed doors.

Too late. I've already cancelled my pre-order, uninstalled The Witcher 2 and sent an angry letter to GOG.com.

You really think someone would do that, write a news article and tell lies?

I look forward to playing it soon. On PS4.

I have a feeling I'll be using that phrase a lot this E3. But then I expect it's one I'll be able to use a lot (Fallout 4, ME2, etc).

yes

Most creditable Polish gaming sources are:

CD-Action (mainly PC gaming)
PSX Extreme (console gaming)
Polygamia.pl (sort of like Polygon but good)
gry-online.pl (biggest gaming polish site though worse (quality) than polygamia)

Wprost dude is contributor and i doubt he even see wprost headquaters daily.

Getting a bit tired of Microsoft's approach being to moneyhat multi-platform games to their conference. Not down to some fanboy grudge (I will buy both console formats) but because it makes no difference in reality. It is a waste of money.

Having a game on the stage makes no long term difference. It makes no real impact on a purchasing decision. Has anyone witnessed a consumer holding both versions in the hand and going for one specifically due to it being on a stage during E3? Nope.

I would much rather see MS invest the money into developing a wealth of first party developers.

IMO I believe Microsoft is going to attempt a quick win against Sony so they can start setting their sites to Google and Apple. One way to get an easy win is just to throw a shitload of money at 3rd parties for the biggest and best upcoming games (titanfall, fallout 4, a bunch of EA shit, etc). Any exclusive they couldn't get they'll most likely try to push that the XB1 has the superior version thanks to XBL.

Should be a fun show.

DRM free champions with exclusive content on the Xbone...

:(

Sigh, it's all about the guap at the end of the day. I can respect it, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.
