60 fps gameplay vids for various Wii U games @ E3

Honestly, finding out most if not all of the Wii U games shown at E3 were 1080p/60fps was maybe the best surprise this entire E3 for me.

To my knowledge only Smash Bros is both 60 fps and 1080p. Wind Waker is 1080p but 30fps, DKC, Mario and Mario Kart are all 60fps but only 720p.

Too bad the Mario Kart 8 video is splitscreen. Nice otherwise, thanks.

Actually, I was very happy to see the game still ran at 60 fps and still looked great in split screen. Split screen is more demanding than just running one single viewport. I'm sure four player split screen will have obvious deficiencies compared to one player, but to see two players look that nice is very encouraging.

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
MK8 looks and plays how I've always imagined MK should look and play like. We're getting there, gentlemen.

I'm still wowed by how good Mario Kart 8 looks

I'm not. MK7 is 60fps 3D goodness and pretty, I didn't doubt MK Wii U looking amazing.

The style is amazing though, has a nice clay look to it, and graphically it shits all over the PC version of SEGA Sonic Racing.

Wind Waker is 60fps, someone posted in one of the Wind Waker threads with a link to confirmation.

'someone' is not Gamersyde. Who have a track record of being completely on the money when they state what framerate a game is running at. It's 30 fps however much we wish it was 60.

But I saw the demo at Best Buy, it was 30fps.

you have been added to my list of people I trust to report frame rates.

I haven't been this bemused by people claiming a game was a certain framerate since last E3 when loads of people were claiming Rayman was 30 fps.

I am so weirded out by how much more advanced Mario Kart 8 is than any other Nintendo Wii U game other than X. Monolith Soft and the Kart team need to share their tech knowledge with the rest of the team or some shit

So weird how Mario Kart seemed the one to break the mold compared to 3D land and Retro's mystery fucking game. It seems Racing Transformed wont keep that crown for too long.

You were wrong. It is clearly 60 fps.

Gamersyde who posted all the 60 fps videos in the OP, posted a video of Wind Waker. that video was 30 fps, and they also confirmed when they posted it that it that the game was running at 30 fps.

so I don't see how he can be wrong.

you are going on my list of people who can't tell the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps.

I don't keep actual lists.

Regarding the post upthread about Mario Kart...only Nintendo. Is there anyone on Gaf who would have thought Kart would be Nintendo's graphical powerhouse?
Gamersyde say 30fps, and he literally deals with this hours a day, every day, I'm going to guess you're wrong.

From the Best Buy event, there were times when Zelda seemed super sooth, and times when the framerate would clearly dip. Most of the dipping I saw was from the story side of the demo, while the boss battle seemed pretty fluid throughout.

Nobody else there seemed to see it, though.

It kinda lends to the theory that Mario 3D World really was a 3DS game until panic mode.

I find it bonkers that we're doing this in a thread about videos posted on Gamersyde that show the games that actually run at 60 fps running at 60 fps that doesn't feature Wind Waker, since it doesn't run at 60 fps. It's like... can people really not tell the difference or do they just want it to be true so much that they can't see simple facts and logic right in front of them?

Honestly I just think they wanted to get a Mario game out that looks clean and crisp, if not a bit simple, so the 3D Land style was a good one to learn the ropes of 3D Mario in HD. There is no ways game that looks that good started on a handheld.

It really doesn't.

To put it more bluntly, this.

It's especially weird when you realize that Mario Kart Wii looked pretty shitty.

Bar the N64 days Nintendo have always pushed 60fps or a rock solid 30, it's important to gameplay, which in this day and age, they seem like the only major company who care about the game.

Maybe they were going for different artstyles.

Thanks, i'd heard people saying it around GAF, but never with a source.

Which shot? I think I have all of them and they're 720p.

the one with the wii fit trainer and bowser.
