I personally hope this is totally untrue.

If I lose game sharing because MS was pressured into changing their minds due to fans of GameStop. I will be less than pleased.

I can't believe they would just completely throw away their whole policy after explicitly saying they wouldn't. If it was a couple things maybe, but everything? Please. Also GB posting this? Come on guys, unless your source is reliable, really?

Guess Don,Nelson and Phil did enough damage to the company that they have to change it perhaps? Still not convicted about it though.

I'm glad I didn't cancel my pre-order for either console. I'll probably end up keeping both.

Should this pan out to be true, I hope Microsoft admit to why they're doing it and thank NeoGAF for showing them the light ;)

Videogamer is reporting on it, but only sources are GiantBomb and What Hifi, so nothing new on that front.

I can't believe What Hifi broke this story. Un-fucking-believable.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
This would've been too good. Still, with the $100 price difference and no always-on Kinect, my wallet is on the Sony side.

Do you own a PS3? It's more expensive than an Xbox 360.

Noooooooo. I wanted to see the XBOX One crash and burn. :(

Since I don't care about their exclusives, I really wanted to see the effects of this mad plans set in motion. Popcorn, etc.

I LOVE IT

GB reporting rumors like this is... Odd. But oh man, that's a megaton, and a massive turnaround if that's true. Evening up the odds!

The only reason I half way believe this is because GB reported it and I actually trust them not to throw up every rumor they hear.

EA must be pissed.

They have MS titanfall some exclusive Fifa shit because of the promise of DRM. If they backtrack they will be sending some angry emails.
I think the moment sony didnt go along with microsofts plans the whole thing was blown wide open.

You did nothing.
Sony beating them down, the Military getting public attention and retailers getting on their case as well as pitiful pre-order showings did this.

The direct feedback of thousands behind Sony did it. If there was no public clamor about these issues you can be certain that Microsoft would stay their course.

Jimmy Fallon said sony was the only console that supports used games, and don't require online yesterday, the crowd cheered. Xbox one will be on JF again but it will be EA, Microsoft can't clear things up on JF, Jimmy forced them to change their minds because of national TV.

Poor WiiU. But yeah that would kill any hope for the console.

Hopefully nothing like this (DRM on console) happens again.

If true, Microsoft is trying to pull a Coca Cola by going from New Coke back to Coke.

It makes them look like heroes for "listening to the public". I hope people still don't buy into it.

If they do it, Sony has to fight back strong.

I honestly don't think they will backtrack. You don't dig a hole that large and then climb out. Even then, I sold most of my 360 collection and am rebuying everything on PS3. So it's too late MS.

Aren't all the exclusives touting how the always online is essential for the game? MS, get your act together.

I'm still going for the PS4 at launch but if this happens I'll probably end up with an Xbone as well. Titanfall looks too awesome.

I'd be more interested in a $100 dollar price cut. But honestly I'm not going with Xbox this next gen. They obviously don't have a good road map ahead of them if they're willing to change policies at the drop of a hat. Who says 2 years from now they bring back DRM and Always Online? Who knows? They obviously don't.
