Wow. This comes as a shock. Right out the left field.

Hahaha I'm aware of Ami's post but not the dramatic reading. Although what threw me off was the pronunciation of hyperbole. For an oft used word (more so in gaming communities and getting greater usage these days) do people really still pronounce it as hyper-bole instead of hy·per·bo·le? Maybe I should stop being so picky.

8 FPS? Tell us more about the perfomance

That's not FPS. It's the benchmark timer:

I like how in the middle of this conference he's like "Oh hey guys, check out my Google Glass, it's awesome."

Just... what the...

Unless they're going to use Android / Google Glass for Streetpass or something.

If this does come over I will be picking up the Wii U version. Playing an mmo on the gamepad has so many awesome possibilities.

Cool stuff, I thought it would be either this or an expansion when the livestream was announced. I think this pretty much settles the fact that the game will be coming over here now, I'm pretty confident about it now.

Max Setting: 4933

3rd gen core i5 dual core @ 2.6ghz

... I want a Metal King Slime fan now.

Edit: Does anyone know if Square Enix blocks US IPs / US accounts from their Japanese billing side?

I can't understand why the game was designed for being released on the Wii months before the Wii U Launch. I can't understand the Wii U version since the console is backward compatible with Wii.

You can't say that this is Nintendo fault. I am sure that they never wanted a MMO Dragon Quest. They wanted a classic Dragon Quest and the game bombed because Square-Enix choose to make something that the customers never wanted.

Remember that in Japan a lot of people have got a Wii, a classic DQ should have sold millions in that market. Who made this crap? CING? They aren't at the same status than Level-5.

Not sure if this increases or lower the chances of localization. Oh well at least if it ever get localized, having a PC version will help a bit.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Isn't this good news? I honestly see this version getting localized over the Wii versions.

You are giving waaaaaayy too much credit to Level-5
If Level-5 had a guiding hand their games are great, with noone there to fallback on =/

Nothing beats playing it on a good ole PC.

This saves me the money if I were to ever consider getting a WiiU down the line.

I do find it ironic how this was announced for WiiU but here we have benchmarks available right now for us on PC to try right now. So cool and I don't even think SE could do such a thing on a Nintendo platform with benchmark tools and all. I'm downloading the benchmark now.

Fantastic news! I've played every DQ release ever in Japanese and was worried I'd have to wait for a western release on this one. Now I just need to grab a Japanese 3DS to play the VII and Monsters remakes.

I got a 4603. I got a bunch of red Japanese text at the end, at the bottom of my score, so I don't know what to make of that. Still ran and looked pretty decent. I ran it at 1920x1080p vsync enabled. Mostly 60fps and around 30 for more demanding shots. Pretty humorous demo. I'm guessing a summoner class is in the game?

I don't have the best computer in the world, but it does okay enough.

Surprised people are surprised.

Its a MMO, of course it would come out on PC (where MMOs flourish far more than on consoles).

Damn this is great news if they end up localization it. Will be my first MMO!
Since the spec requirements are pretty low I look forward to using a future Surface Pro with this game!

And nearly 5 years since it's announcement still no actual sign of a localised version on Wii/Wii U and now PC.

Higher numbers are better right?

Default settings, scored 11089. I have a pretty decent rig though.

Thought it was a pretty good little benchmark.

People with a PC still bought Ps360 this gen, it's not that big of a deal. But yes, I'm sure millions of people are waiting for DQX to buy a Wii U and are now rejoicing all over the world sayiing "yes fuck you mario brand!" if that makes you happy.

People had meltdowns about the news of DQX exclusive even if it was an mmo but it's not even that the point, as i said is one less exclusive for nintendo and one less reason to buy a N console.
So yes if i have your permission i laugh at the incompetence of nintendo in these last 4-5 years, if they handled things better this would've happened way later or not at all (do i have to remind you that this is happened only 3 months after the release on wiiu that should've boosted the sales?)

How should I set the settings to get max settings on the benchmark? Can't find a way to change the language.

The nintendo brand is finally over. Maybe next decade!

It's over, period. nintendo lost their last ace, and that's the end of their wii u hopes and dreams.

It's not hyperbole, it's not fanboy drivel. It is LITERALLY it for wii u. nintendo has nothing left, nothing they have can fix the hole now created. There is no reason left for anyone, hardcore or casual, to substantially invest in a wii u. Except if they want to play bayonetta 2. Which will also come to xbox one at some point.

Microsoft took the last reason away that anyone would NEED to own a wii u over an xbox one (except TVII LOL GAMING), and the cavalcade of tiny titles that will be nice but won't stir up any sales is not going to salvage the bloated, overdesigned behemoth that was wii u.

There may be some hardcore gamers that stick around. Some did it for ps3 too. But the last bell tolled. Maybe next decade.

The age of nintendo is done.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

You are really overreacting.

This is great news. This will help the wii and wii u version grow in population as well. This is what square should of done this from the start. Now bring it over to NA!

Lmao @ Ani's post.

This will be cross platform as well? That should ensure a healthy pop for a while.

Got a good 2675 at 1080p on the bench but it appears the SE registration site is down for maintenanace right now so I can't sigh up for the beta.

This was on my wife's modest MSI laptop. I'm pretty impressed but not surprised considering the bench looks like an HD Wii game. Still feels cool to have DQ on PC.

The famitsu link in the OP isn't working. It comes up with a forbidden page. Do they block the US or something?
