Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies - E3 Demo (16 min)

Gotta say, I love the 3D models. They've done a great job translating Kumiko Suekane style to 3D. And if you didn't tell me Takumi WASN'T on scripting duties here, it sure sounds like him, right up to Wright humorous blue monologues to the s-stuttering of the characters.

Looks like a good Phoenix Wright game.
WHERE'S MAYA!?!?!?!?!?!?

The new emotions mechanic looks quite simple to use and doesn't seem bad at all.

And the way they ended the demo is perfect.

What about Layton vs; Ace Attorney, is it being localized?

My bets are on it being released after Layton 6 comes out in NA which is in 2014.

Steve, the dog with no powers that we let hang out with us all for some reason
That dialogue typeface/font/whatever looks really great.

Other than that, my body is ready.

that next gen crowd audio.

Cornered theme for
incompetent police mixed up the tails!
.

Seems like the emotion system is less annoying than apollo's eye.

So who digital naysayers are still not getting this :p (well if physical doesn't live)

I was really excited about this until it got to the part where Athena uses her powers. The Ace Attorney games always caricatured real life court proceedings in a way, but this just takes it to whole new level of weird. Pressing the defendant for more testimony by questioning them about the emotions you sensed in their statement? It just sounds so awkward when Nick keeps probing her about the emotions she felt. At this point I'm used to there being a new gimmick introduced every time but this one is just plain stupid. Bring back the Perceive system, please.

For those wondering, Psyche-Locks and Apollo's Perceive system are both in the game as well.

Pretty much all the special skills from previous games.

Yeah I had a cance to play this and am hyped to play the whole game when it comes out.

And yeah, Capcpom half-assed the iOS versions of these games, made them run like shit for no reason other than laziness.

Links to the iOS versions of the Ace Attorney games should be in the wiki entry for lazy devs if there is one.

the thing that bugs me in PW games is that

the first case always shows the real villain at the start... why?!

also

characters act guilty way too much

No, not always. They didn't show them in AA3, AA4 and AAI2. Otherwise I think in AA games it's usually not that much about the identity of the murderer but instead how and why they did it.

You forgot the most important one

LOGIC
Note that it's a slightly different gameplay mechanic and isn't called Logic.

I had to stop watching it because I don't want to spoil myself anymore for when the game comes out, needless to say it looks incredible.

It looks nice visually, but man, I hate the AAI-style soundtrack. It's hard to believe that the same guy also scored Trials and Tribulations.

but it ends up reaching professor layton levels of logic

especially in AA4's original case

OH HE MOVED THE WARDROBE AND THERE WAS ANOTHER PERSON IN THE ROOM AND OH LOOK IT WAS MY MENTOR

WHY?

IDK

though i love all PW games, the exploration is occsionally cumbersome.

Damn it, I still need to finish Apollo! I will bite down and get through when I know the release date of this game.

Fantastical

Death Prophet
Goddamn... the chirping of the text brings back so many good memories. Watched about 20 seconds then closed out. I want everything to be fresh. I have a feeling we won't be getting too many more of these.

I think it's to get you prepared to seek out bullshit. Since you know they are lying, the game can get you to press them on information. The first case doubles as a tutorial. I don't know if that's really why, but I kind of like when they show you who did it.
