Oh, I'm not saying it's bullshit, because it's happening, but BruceLeeRoy is just coming in after actual legit posters and repeating their info as if he knows anything.
Or I may be completely wrong about him, but he's been wrong enough times that it's getting a little annoying.

What franchise? There's only one Demon's Souls game. And just because the sequel (hypothetically) exists doesn't mean Sony is going to force FROM to rush it to market.
If anything, they'd want it to have a bit of space from Dark Souls 2 so it can stand on its own.

DeS and DaS are are build on the same engine/mechanics, but the game design is pretty different. I for one like the hub aspect of DeS more than the open world of DaS and appreciate the magicsystem, and I believe there is a lot of room to expand it to be even more different from DaS.

I don't see why is it so impossible for From to make Demon's 2. Dark Souls 2 ain't even going next gen and Miyazaki ain't working on it, so what's the big deal about it?

The only difference, as far as I recall, is that Demons Souls is darker and grittier while also having a fragmented world bound together by a hub called "the nexus". So while you can walk from one end of the world to the other in Dark Souls, in Demons Souls you cannot. Also, Dark Souls doesn't have Valley of Defilement, so I automatically like Dark Souls better.

Demons souls is superior to Dark Souls especially the PvP aspect. So while I will buy DS2 day one, if I ever had to make a choice between the two I would pick Demons souls in a heartbeat.

The truth is all this insider crap is kind of useless.
Even if you've heard something multiple times from trustworthy sources, the information can change overnight. Even CBOAT got Prince of Persia wrong, and he's about as reliable as they get. Nothing is certain.
At the same time there's usually smoke where there's fire.

They said they're fixing that with Dark Souls 2. That sounds like it was a fuck up that would've happened regardless of the title they slapped on it.

There's a difference between changing an annoucement's timing and info that a certain game is being made or not.
The latter is far, far harder to change overnight.

If he is, I hope he brings back a few more of the survival horror bits and pieces from Demon's Souls. I honestly felt that DeS was more of a horror game and DaS was more of a fantasy game. Both are good games, but if I had to choose between a sequel to either one, I'd rather see another Demon's Souls.
And I still personally think the Painted World from Dark Souls was actually the cut Sixth Archstone from Demon's Souls, but slightly repurposed. It just felt different enough from the rest of the game (and it was the only instanced part of the entire game world) that it could've fit neatly into DeS. There were even baby Phalanxes in it!

I heard two sets of rumors, months ago. They had to do with the same 3 games.
Set 1:
Final Fantasy Versus was turning into FFXV, sony was trying to get it as an exclusive.
Kingdom Hearts 3 was coming, sony was trying to get it as an exclusive.
Miyazaki and a team from FROM Software were working on a new IP, a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls.
Online play going behind PS+
Set 2:
FF versus was turning into FFXV, sony was helping develop it, PS4 exclusive.
KH3 was coming, PS4 exclusive.
From making Demon's Souls 2.
Online play remaining free
So, obviously, Set 2 is a bit more than half wrong. Versus did become XV, but it wasn't developed by Sony and isn't exclusive. KH3 is coming, not PS4 exclusive. Online play isn't free.
So that leaves Demon's Souls 2. Given the difference between these two sources I'm going to personally believe the rumor in set one, not set two. But, that said, a name is a pretty easy thing to change. They could easily have begun as Demon's Souls 2 and changed the name to something new... or vice-versa, to give the game a higher profile when it's announced. But one thing seems certain in these dueling rumors... Miyazaki and a team at FROM are making something that is either Demon's Souls 2 or something that is very much like it.
I don't know any of this to be fact. I don't know anyone at FROM. I don't know anyone at Sony working with them. This is just me aggregating two separate rumors that have passed through my end of the world. Which leads me to my prior post. What we know for certain is that Miyazaki isn't working on Dark Souls 2. There is a team inside FROM with an unannounced project.... and Miyazaki and Sony have been tight for three generations now.

Yes.. I also felt that Painted World stood on its own within Dark Souls. It is also my favorite area of that game.

But the sixth archstone was the land of the giants. The painted world was nothing like that.

We don't really know anything about the land of the giants except that it was supposed to be snowy. And the castle in the Painted World was pretty massive. I don't think it was a direct 1 to 1 correlation, but the fact that it was an instanced, completely separate part of the world map (and the only one of those there was in the entire game until the Voidwalker DLC), it had cameo enemies from Demon's Souls in it and it also had a rare enemy with a hat clearly designed to evoke the Old Monk meant that, at least in my opinion, it was meant to be a reference to Demon's Souls.
I think From took some of the unused ideas they had for the Land of the Giants and made them into the Painted World.
Yeah,I hope they bring back something like the Tower of Latria,that was my favorite level in the game.

I believe From developed Ninja Blade at around the same time as Demon's Souls so I don't see why they couldn't be working on two Souls games simultaneously.

If we consider that you are legit (and you're OK in my book!), that's pretty much a confirmation.
Regardless of the inaccuracies on the second rumor, 2 different sources talked to you about the same 3 unannounced games months before E3.
I hope you are right. I want a next gen only, Demon/Dark Souls game. I don't even care if it's exclusive to the Xbone.
Make it next gen and let the guys from From do what they want.
And people talking shit about BruceLeeRoy need to understand that decisions about the PS4 and PSN pricing were probably made on the very last minute, maybe after MS disastrous E3 presentation. Kagari herself vouched for him when his legitimacy was called into question on the pre E3 Sony conference thread.
If MS did their home work with the Xbone since the unveiling and people were happy with it Sony would have a hard time forcing a PSN paywall on us. And considering how weak MS was, Sony's choice must have been easy.
That's why as much as I dislike MS current policies and attitude (I was getting a Xbone even with weaker specs before the E3 fiasco, but now I'll probably wait a couple of years), I just don't want then to implode and get out of the video game industry, or get relegated to a distant second place because the last thing us gamers should want or need is a Sony or MS monopoly on the VG industry (sorry Iwata fans, but Nintendo just don't count anymore to me, maybe next-next gen).

My personal theory is when Miyazaki heard Namco wanted DS 2 for the current gen, he said no. Continuing on from that, after he said no I think Namco asked, can you make DS 3 for the next gen that's a huge overhaul and the true leap for the series instead? This is what I think he agreed on. New blood could also mean new hardware as well.
Another theory is the next gen Souls game started development the exact same time as Dark Souls 2

FROM Software is not Ubisoft. There is no way that's happening.
Why would Miyazaki split off and do ANOTHER spiritual successor to Demon's Souls for the exact same multiplatform audience? It makes no sense - it would literally be redundant. The only reason it would exist is if it's a partnership with Sony.

Yes, but working on two installments in the exact same series at the same time is foolish and stupid. Especially when the second game hasn't even come out yet, nor does it even have a release date. Namco is a shitty publisher, but they're not that shitty that they'd make FROM develop two games simultaneously. It'd be a waste of manpower and ideas.
