What was the best looking/sounding game on the N64?

I was playing the Conker remake (which kinda loses some of the charm, I'll admit...), and decided to watch the uncensored great mighty poo battle and holy shit this game looks great on the console. (yes I know it runs at 30 frames and dips a bit.)

The sound is phenomenal for the system as well. Are there better games or is this one the best?

(images aren't mine)

as well as
Rock Solid
and
Count Batula

dat robin beanland

edit: can't find a non blurry screen on my iphone, somebody get me a good pic of the spooky level or something pretty! :p

All things considered (music, sound effects, jingles, ambient noise) Mario 64 has the best sound.

For any game ever imo, not just the 64.

I always felt perfect dark was very impressive, as were Rares other games.

Majora was a stunner as well

Conker definitely. Banjo 2 also looked great for the time.

And that game ran at like 20fps with dips, not 30 haha.

Turok 2 and Rogue Squadron were the standouts for me at the time. Once I popped that expansion pack in for Turok 2... drool.
Revisiting it in 2013 is a disappointment since it's tough to play in such a low frame rate.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
Jet Force Gemini
Rogue Squadron
Perfect Dark
Forsaken 64.

Essentially anything from Rare and Akklaim.

Feel free to correct me with shots from other games as well.

I should've said that Conker is my favorite game of all time, I'm a fanboy haha.

Besides Conker? Banjo, DK64, Perfect Dark.

Most of the games are pretty good graphics-wise, it's just TVs at the time couldn't really handle...

I don't know the best looking, but the game with the best sound is Mystical Ninja starring Goemon by a freaking mile. There's no other N64 game that even put a dent on this one. Great songs, some of them even got vocals. It was amazing for it's time

Put my vote in for Banjo Kazooie. Maybe Tooie. Tooie had some really good shadows on the models from what I remember.

I'd say Conker, this may not be a fair comparison, but, PD used the expansion pak where Conker did not. (don't ask me how rare did that...)

I meant in terms of visuals, and I think the Expansion pack does not disqualify titles from the contest. I thought Conker was considered to be the best.

Absolutely, unequivocally Sin & Punishment. It's really the only N64 game that stands the test of time visually.

Many of the later releases by Rare and Nintendo featured Dolby Surround.
Banjo-Tooie even had a 16:9 option.

Every N64 game looked liked ass even when I played it back then. Only OoT impressed me because of the world and music.

Turok 2 for sure.

I always got stuck at Lair of the Blind Ones. Could never get past that level as a kid.
