STALKER: CoP getting a major community overhaul on July 31: MISERY 2.0

Mod is basically looking to change the game top to bottom: Graphics, Audio, AI, Missions, NPC's, Factions, Mutants, everything is getting overhauled.

O wow, that is pretty awesome.


I got quite a lot into SOC until I lost my saveso recently started COP ( only did like the first 5 minutes) so will wait for this to hit and start again.

Can't wait.

Never played this, as I wasn't a PC gamer at the time but...Wow at that art. Hope the full game looks like that.

2 Things.

Misery is a very, very difficult mod. Playing STALKER: CoP for the first time with Misery mod is not recommended.

Wait for the Steam sale to pick this game up. It should start Thursday and you will be able to get all three STALKER games for $5-$7.

Sounds incredibly ambitious, but that was a terrible trailer.
It hardly shows any of those improvements they are talking about.

After
putting up with
beating Bioshock on 1999 mode, I'm ready for anything.

And if me spending $20 gets these guys a bigger cut(I already bought it lol) then great. I can feel it just by looking at those pictures that this will be something I'll love to play.

The company that made STALKER doesn't exist anymore, so who knows where that money goes? Whoever bought the IP I'd assume.

I played through SOC twice. Once with Complete, and once vanilla.

I have CoP, but didn't end up playing much. I'm hungry for it now though!

Do you think I should go Misery 2.0? This mod sounds fantastic.

I really need to beat COP vanilla. SOC is one my favorite games of all time. Best thing about the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is the amazing mods.

The IP is still owned by the original founder of the company, and who eventually shut the company down.

I assume the money goes directly to him.

Is this second game? I've tried installing the overhaul a few times for that one and my game can never load up, so I eventually gave up on it. Would like to give it a go with this.

It may be years before we see a true successor to these games, but the level of community support ensures the series will live on until that day comes.

At this point I'd even take a complete rip-off as long as it's good.

I haven't even started CoP yet, but I played a lot of SoC before installing the Complete mod, which really impressed me. I'll probably just use this mod from the beginning. I like the sound of the changes.

Yeah, I'm not even talking about a true sequel. I'd be happy with a spiritual successor that understands the essence of these games.

I'm really surprised no one has tried a similar AI system at the very least.

Played a previous version of the Misery mod (1.0, I think?) and enjoyed it, so I'll give this one a go. Avoid the dark. There's baaaaaad things out there, man!

Well now, this is good news. I'll add this in and rock hard. Never played too too much CoP, but SoC was beaten more than once.

it seems like this mod fixes everything I hated about COP including the "extremely dangerous and ominous" Jupiter factory which is inhabited by a pack of rabid dogs, lol.

I'm surprised there's not a STALKER mod thread on GAF. Then again I did read that a lot of them are eastern european only with no subtitles etc.

STALKER's sooooo damn good.

i just bought SoC and CoP on steam (around 6.70€ for both :) )

I am still at SoC (modded) and wow this game is great. This is how shooter should be. I am not a big fan of Shooter Singleplayer and normally open world shooter are the worse but STALKER is the best shooter i have played in years.

Cant wait to finish SoC and start CoP with Misery 2.0 :)

How that wasn't caught prior to the last release is beyond me. It's the starting weapon of one of the classes and it's not exactly hard to see.

I'm into this. Call of Pripyat is my favourite of the Stalker series. It's also the one I haven't completed yet. Definitely downloading Misery 2.0 when it comes out.

I've had this installed for a while. Got pretty far into it a week before TLOU came out. Haven't touched it since. This mod is a great reason to get back into it.

CoP lacked some of the more emergent and dynamic bits of its predecessor, but this looks very very very promising.

I await with bated breath and a completed installation.
