I wonder if this game is coming to the Wii U?

Sounds cool but who knows whether these will actually make the final release.

There was an enormous amount of features cut from GTAIV. I remember previews saying K-9 dogs would chase you, and Niko could climb up telephone poles, ride on the bus, call limos. And that Niko would have an MP3 player and you could buy new music from a record store in the game, and probably dozens of other things I'm forgetting.

Those were cut pretty early from IV, like 2 years before release. GTAV is 2 months from release. It's fair to say that the game will probably go gold in a few weeks. They ain't removing features :)

Also a lot of those features about GTAIV were previewers gushing for fake details. I remember a big thing was Niko climbing ladders (which was in the game, though so poorly utilized) and R* showed a demo of him escaping out a fire escape, so all of this crap was written about climbing fire escapes to get to difficult places, entering buildings through fire escapes, etc. Where were like 3 climbable fire escapes out of 100 in the whole game, and 1 of them led to somewhere the rest were awkward dead ends, haha.

Not sure I like the idea of bulletproof tires.. but I guess as long as gas tanks cant be bulletproof, it balances things out.

holy shit at some of the hijinks I can get into. I'm totally blowing up a car on the way off that fucking mountain. Amazing

some NPC Gs may have bulletproof tyres, some may have armor so you can't shoot out their tanks...there's no balancing at all, but there doesn't need to be

the only confirmation from this is personal customisation, I don't think there are any multiplayer details about taking that customisation online

Maybe because Agent is now multiplatform.

When Trennton was asked about it he said ask R* so yeah if and when it does come if ever. It will probably be multi platform all in all if all Sony got was a GTA branded GTAV PS3 box and a marketing deal I would say R* got the better deal.

But I guess R* is one dev you don't want to piss off so you take what your given.

All of that sounds great, but I still remember all the promises made about GTA4 in various interviews, previews, etc.

Until I'm actually playing the game and experiencing these great features first hands, they are nothing more than PR laced words.

Finally the car impounding features we have always wanted

LOL. Yeah, I admire their attention to detail. But that strikes me as a "feature" that's not going to be enjoyable. Sometimes developers just have to put themselves in the mind frame of "Is this going to be fun". And in that case, what's fun is to come out and find your friggin supercar neatly parked near where you left it.

guess i'm the only person that is interested in better melee. but I'm the asshole that always goes for the melee kills in shooting games :p

Is regen health confirmed?

Game looks good not sure how I feel about having 3 characters.

The only character that is remotely interesting is the hill billy.

The other 2 are sad stereotypes of past gta games.

It is 50 50 in gta V.

As in, 50% of your health will regen, the other 50% has to be manually refilled ( med kits, food)

I think that that limitation is probably due to memory issues. They could do it saints row style though.

But the problem is that in GTA games, eventually your car is not there anymore. Now you can at least get your custom car back when the game decides to despawn it.

What?

That's wrong completely. CJ wasn't nearly as fleshed out as Franklin appears to be, and Michael got out of organized crime and has a family.

Ok so going by the melee description I'm thinking a mixture between Sleeping Dogs and the Batman Arkham games combat ?

I seriously doubt that. Michaels gonna be pinballing around baddies doing flip kicks and uppercuts?

Although the brief melee weapon description made me think of the melee combat in TLOU

Having more ownership over your car also incentivizes driving more "appropriately" which could address a lot of the gameplay/narrative dissonance issues people love to complain about in gta4.

it's 4th of July in my asshole
I hope the multiplayer is stable. GTA SA was pretty sick for me and I only played it a few times, car full of dudes who got stuck in the car because they where jammed between a wall and another car. Just opened up with an uzi through the window.

Well I don't actually mean fighting styles I just mean it'll be fluid like those two games I mentioned.

I thought the driving in IV was perfect. It was just challenging enough to be entertaining.
I loved it, but to be honest I'll probably be happy with any changes they've made. I realised after playing Sleeping Dogs that I don't mind radically different driving physics, as long as they're decent in their own way. So some subtle changes I certainly wouldn't be bothered about.

i love driving in GTA. it is so much more fun than any other game that isn't a simulation driving game.

Nothing beats flying a hundred feet off your motorcycle over a bridge and into water; trying to outrace some cops and finally screwing up, flying through your windshield and splatting on the pavement. I always find myself smiling or laughing my head off. Now with all the added features of GTAV, driving will be fucking crazy lol.

You're not alone. I always love a good old pistol whip and chainsaw to the face. One of the best games that I loved beating up fools in was in James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing.

I'm extremely intrigued by the improved melee combat system. Free flowing, can attack from different directions, and no lock on required plus an emphasis on melee weapons? Sign me up. I can't wait to see more since the gun combat and the cars is overshadowing it.

If it's as good Sleeping Dogs' combat or at least does a decent job of emulating it, I will absolutely go crazy taking out enemies up close and personal. I actually hope there are more hand to hand combat scenarios outside the bank heists and shoot out missions.

I think that's more because Sony looks like they have a marketing deal with Sony.

I don't think R* are that concerned about seeking marketing assistance from anyone. It's GTA V.

I cannot imagine them showing inferior builds of the game to the gaming press just for the sake of a marketing deal? Either PS3 and 360 versions look indentical and they just tossed a coin and decided to only show PS3 builds so far or it looks/performs better on the PS3.

Shame they didn't ask them if you can dual wield pistols/machine guns at all. Would love to know that.

What I hate with driving in Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs is that you hit top speed in 5 seconds. GTA IV was much better.
