Media Create Sales: Week 27, 2013 (Jul 01 - Jul 07)

So this is what new Wii U owners are buying. What do you guys think the chances are that NSMBU will come back to the top 20 in next week's thread?

Yes, I think so, I reckon NSMU may do a comeback in top 10 mainly as a side-effect of New Luigi's release - although it is sold as a stand-alone title, some may pirchase the old game along with the new expansion.

Besides, other Wii U games such as MH3U and NintendoLand may have a little bump.

BTW, Chris1964 seems pretty busy (or maybe vacation). He doesn't updated the last thread with MC Top 50, and this thread doesn't have Famitsu numbers yet.

This week and next week releases are missing too.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
A little news: preorders for Pokémon X/Y will start on August, 10th.

I meant if it was in the launch window the price wouldn't be so bad assuming they are going for 40k yen. The lack of BC in Japan is going to hurt the most.

But if you remove FF15 form that list, 40K yen would seem to much to spend just to play new Yakuza and Tales since GT6 is also on PS3.

Code:
Famitsu 7/1 - 7/7 Hardware Sales:

3DS - 38250
Vita - 21197
PS3 - 12162
[B]Wii U - 6380[/B]
PSP - 5842
Wii - 1128
360 - 228

Glad to see Wii U above 6K this week.

When do systems stop getting tracked? Is it just an arbitrary decision or one made looking at how old a system as well as it how much it sells?

Basically just wondering how long Famitsu and MC will keep providing 360 numbers.

Basically just wondering how long Famitsu and MC will keep providing 360 numbers.

Famitsu kept providing public GameCube numbers until 2007-03-26 (Wii launched the week of 2006-11-27), and Xbox numbers until 2005-11-28 (Xbox 360 launched the week of 2005-12-05).

So presumably, Famitsu will stop reporting 360 sales when XBONE releases in Japan in 2014, and PS3 will linger as long as it maintains non-abysmal sales.

Not sure about Media Create.

According to Sinobi, Dragon's Crown pre-orders are high. They exploded someway after the Index bankruptcy.
Pre-orders are higher than Odin Sphere and Muramasa Vita.

Expected first shipment is 120k for PS3 version and 50K for Vita version.
Sinobi says that PS3 shipment is okey, but Vita shipment seems low after the +40k Muramasa did in its debut and the +100k (retail and digital) LTD.
He says to PSV version buyers, to hurry.

That seems quite good for the game.

And the game has "just" 76pt (43 PS3, 33 PSV) of preorders on Comgnet. It wouldn't be the first time they undertrack a game's debut or ratios between pts and actual sales are much lower for a specific series than in the past this year. Is people preordering through Comgnet not as much as in the recent past?

Do we have anything on Pikmin 3?

According to Sinobi, in its blog Pikmin 3 has been the most pre-ordered Wii U title.
But being the other titles launch games, I guess it doesn't mean too much.

Also, expecting shipment for Nintendo Land Remote Bundle is 20k for each color (blue and pink) so 40k in total.

Or maybe you should just not make judgements on games based on a single retailer's preorder chart.

Lol. Nice to have you back Takao.

#TeamSony and #TeamVita have sorely missed your advocacy.

It's been open season by #TeamNintendo in the MediaCreate threads and GAF since your disappearance, with only SmokyDave to represent #TeamVita in its defence.

Err... Did you unlearn Comgnet? That in bold doesn't exist.

2 weeks away from release

Dragon's Crown: 76pt
Muramasa Rebirth: less than 20pt (release day: 27pt)
Grand Knights Story: less than 34pt (release day: 58pt)

It seems to me people are preordering Dragon's Crown more than the other Vanillaware games. =P

For the sake of comparison, Famitsu numbers:

Odin Sphere: 60,820 / 96,280

Muramasa Wii: 23,900 / 45,825
Muramasa Wii Re-Release: 8,025 / 29,823
Muramasa Vita: 39,248 / 70,945 (as of week 22)

Grand Knight History: 63,672 / 100,285

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
So I'm guessing Dragon's Crown will be the best selling Vanillaware game in Japan?

Actually, I've seen changes compared to other releases in the same series recently, reminding what other titles did, but it seems I was wrong for Dragon's Crown, my bad.

Moreover, it seems the Comgnet archive page changed again (http://www11.ocn.ne.jp/~taku64/cong/ gives me 404-not found now), could you give me the new one, please?

While true, it's decidedly not uncommon to run in sub-native on them (though this is also true of the Vita).
More importantly though - it's very common for non-2d tablet-games to have janky framerates. Hell even 2d-ones make no guarantees.

Wow Dragon's Crown looks really poised to do by far better than the other Vanillaware games.

Yeah also curious about Pikmin 3 and also WiiU hardware...

Where would the information on the first day sales come from? Is there a news source, is it anecdotal, etc.? I don't frequent the sales-age threads... :-(

We still trying to make Hunting Action popular? Why can't we stick with Monster Hunter Clone? Sounds cooler.
Because the only thing most of these games have in common with monster hunter is co op. Maybe we should bring back the term "street fighter 2 clone" for any and every 2d fighter. That would be awesome:)

Sinobi is sharing interesting stuff recently. Now it's Mario & Luigi RPG 4's turn.

Sales:

2003■GBA「Mario &Luigi RPG」438.781
2005■NDS「Mario &Luigi RPG 2」417.391
2009■NDS「Mario &Luigi RPG 3」745.701
2013■3DS「Mario &Luigi RPG 4」¿?

The series sell around 400k, but the third entry exploded. The blog says that the feeling is that Mario & Luigi RPG 4 will fall on sales and return to the 400k level.

For Pikmin 3's impressions you should wait a little. Probably tomorrow we have some comments.

Hmm yeah I don't think 700k is feasible. I'm kind of worried about it not reaching 400k for some reason, I can't really explain it. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Eat this, Nintendo! DAY FUCKING ONE!

lol

I really think there should have been a break in releasing Mario RPG. If it does fall dramatically i would blame it on the recent paper mario release and fatigue.

In general though nintendo seems to have forgotten how good they were with schefuling

I can't believe this is what Square Enix has become

Well, I can, but I don't want to believe it

I don't think SE themselves are thinking they are game publishers any more.
It was kinda inevitable from Square and Enix's merger.
(Enix kept saying they were copyright publishing company, not game company).
