I guess nothing happened ,right ?

EDIT: Just made a quick search ,we have some info from the Australian event indeed :

So recently, EA and EB Games Australia showcased a live BF4 Demo exclusive to the Australian media and 100 lucky fans. Footage that was shown was the Angry Sea gameplay and the 17 minute demo from earlier this year. However, we did learn a plethora of information from the Q&A done by David Silverman, the Marketing Director at EA of Battlefield.
Singleplayer:
• Admitted that the BF3 story could have been more.
• Campaign will be more character driven and emotional. Confidence in their skills in building multiplayer led them to spend more time into creating a good singleplayer story.
• NPCs will be more human. Right down to the smallest and simplest details of just watching you walk around etc.
• Cutscenes are acted out in a soundstage like in movies

Specs:
• Oculus Rift support is not planned, but is possible in the future
• PC specs are similar to the specs of BF3. No official specs list has been released.

Multiplayer:
• Battlelog returns on PC and will integrated into the console games
• Commander Mode runs in-game and tablet, however the in-game versions will have extra features such as live video feeds etc.
• Maps can't be totally leveled, however, destruction is going to be more dramatic than BF3's and will be similar to BC2's destruction.
• They are considering bringing back the ability to destroy MCOMs by having structures and buildings fall on them, like BC2
• You can cut the power in the indoor parts of the maps and use the darkness and non functional elevators to your advantage
• Seize of Shanghai, the map shown at the E3 Demo, is a medium size map and new game modes will be shown soon.
• The spokesman said that "You won't be disappointed by the number of maps in the game"
• He also stated that Operation Metro is the most popular map in BF3, thus indirectly confirming that it'll return in the Second Assault DLC.

Thanks to Josh Whittington (twitter: @Mario_Bones) for live tweeting all this info.

Great, thanks for the writeup. Knowing DICE though take all of this with a grain of salt until we see them deliver. Too much talk, not enough showing.

We'll probably get the big new game mode that most likely has to do with naval combat at Gamescom.

I do hope metro returns in bf4 love that crazy little map.
I'll be happy to see it back, especially if they add some new features/destructibility to it. Its a good change of pace once in a while.

Recommended specs similar to BF3 is good to hear.

About the knocking power to elevators - does that completely eliminate access to the top area by foot? That doesn't sound very fair if there's a capture point up there.

Also, what happens if you're in an elevator and the power is knocked out?

And what happens if you're in an elevator as the building topples over? Obviously you'll die, but does the elevator start to bump around and then you fall on the sides and shit? Like, do you get to *experience* the death in the elevator? That would be pretty sweet.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
blame the players? It's not exactly DICE themselves that are playing it 24/7

It's DICE's fault. The unlock system and ridiculous ranking system pushed people to grind it.

That's how people get those really high SPMs... 1000 ticket Metro meat grinder. All the ribbons stack up, and you medal much faster.

If BF3 was so obsessed with stat tracking, and only focused on W/L I bet a lot less people would play Metro.

big deal, the map is DLC. It's not being released in the vanilla game.

Was I complaining? I was just responding to your post.

edit: Also don't be so quick to dismiss the importance of map selection. Every map that isn't End of the Line is one less chance I have of it being there. Thus, it is very much a big deal!

4 maps from BF3 is returning as DLC. It's not only Metro.

i wonder if an engineer is able to re-wire or reroute the power once it's been cut. i'm not sure how else you can get to the top of that skyscraper without a functional elevator save for hitching a ride on a chopper (i guess i'm assuming that you can cut the power in the skyscraper, we don't know for sure if we can)

We'll get along just fine.

They would seriously need to change the dynamics of some maps for them to be better next time around.

Metro is just a linear spamfest with chokepoints and traps galore. Not enough areas and routes to flank. Add plenty of routes and places to get out of these traps, then it may be more tolerable. Also they should include the park in conquest. Still, it's the equivalent of fast food in the game.

Noshahr is another popular map, mainly due to TDM. I suppose we'll see that in there aswell. Problem is, on most owned servers, during conquest, admins (anytime they're on RU) will pubstack and unleash hell on your spawn with scout helicopters or stealing / destroying yours when they spawn. Plus tanks will stick to the edge and have laser designation fuck you until you have no choice but to hide behind the ship.

kinda hate how DICE will media blackout this title until gamescom now.

It's how it was for BF3.

New map/game mode reveal that will shoot hype through the roof like the Caspian trailer, then Beta in September and little bits of info about additional maps and game modes up until launch.

.

the DLC maps were mostly excellent. The problem seems that not alot of gaffers played them.

you can tell that the vanilla maps were rushed. I hope DICE learned their lesson with BF4.

Yeah, this is all great, but the biggest problem with BF3's campaign was that it wasn't fun to play. You've got this great multiplayer with huge open maps with ton of different kinds of vehicles and all you could come up with were corridors, corridors, and a jet mission where you don't actually fly the jet itself. Stop trying to tell an awful story and start with actually making the game fun, maybe then you can focus on trying to create another generic military shooter storyline which more than likely involves a nuke and a made up middle eastern group for you to kill.

Why do people care that much if Metro is in the DLC? You're free to choose servers that don't run it 24/7 or don't run it at all. It's fine if you want to play a chokepoint map. Yes it's heavily imbalanced for one spawn side but it's still a fun map.

Probably hoping that some other 4 maps would make the list?

If metro makes the list that means one of the others wont make it.

I think the four BF3 DLC maps are being remade and not just ported. They could in other words, make them better.

it's a fair vote though.

If you can't level the maps, then it is NOT like BC2.

You can't level the maps in BC2. Try again.

However, BF4 having destruction more akin to BC2 is great because we will hopefully see more buildings and environmental objects destroyed. BF3 was too static.

It took us over a year to get DICE to take the mcoms out of destructible buildings... :(

Two steps forward, one step back.

Is a fun map just because the sheer amount of stupid madness it brings to the table. Not because is a fun BF map.

That means an actually BF fun map was left out for it, I see why ppl don't like the choice. That said I enjoyed and raged equally in my Metro matches.

My most anticipated next gen game. Wouldn't mind rolling with some hardcore gaffers for the no respawn mode. Also hoping for good sound in this game so I can pick up on the sounds of footsteps and directions. Voice chat too, I hope is good.

At 60fps might be the CoD killer. All my Xbox trickshotter quickscoping try hard CoD fanatics are seriously considering BF4 when they switch to PS4.

That would definitely be incredibly dumb. In BC2 you might as well not bother protecting M-COMs in collapsible buildings since they're so easy to take down.

Pretty much the only reason I play Metro when necessary, just to medal up and unlock stuff... That's about the only thing that map is good for really, I tend to stick to the larger, more open maps where strategy and team work play a bigger part.

Platinum Trophy: Learned to Shit While Upright Again.
Great MCOM's can be destroyed by things falling on them

Tanks sniping from the starting point and just laying waste to a building and earning 1 destroyed MCOM

I still want MCOM to be damaged, that would be more better
Keep their health at an outrageous rate, but DOT (damage over time) should have an effect
Say you lower it by 25% (health), that means it will explode 25% faster and the timer would diminish to the corresponding %

*Thinking out loud here*

IMO

Keep it simple, don't have 10,000 unlocks for all items, keep the battlefield balanced and in a sense equal.

It's why BC1 >>>>>>bc2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BF3

Were is it about skill and not what you have equipped.

Sadly, games were that happened are long gone.
