Man. That's some bullshit. I really hope there's a way for Sony to detect that and ban those people. As soon as trophy hacking became possible, I figured Sony would abandon any plans to offer real rewards for them. But then this happens.

So what's the point then? A small handful of people who have the most trophies can bid on every item, at least on one item from each day, if they don't lose their trophies they can just keep outbidding people who don't have as many.

A plethora of cheats/tricks to gain the system
He just used a combination where he earned trophies @ those certain times, so he can bypass the trophy leaderboards websites
Some are dumb and get hundreds of platinum within minutes, the trophy sites have ways to catch those
Others try to stack different timestamps, but still get caught if you go into their account and look for discrepancies

So CFW PS3's had been offline since that OFW release that would banhammer them
So most just accumulated ungodly amount of trophies by cheating with multiple ways till they can gain access to PSN again
Most ripped discs and abused saves/game code and got Platinums illegitimately
When a way was found to connect to the PSN w/o banning, most just synced their shit, and went legit and trying to stay under the radar
Some still do it

Team oriented is not a bad thing, but for the purposes of this contest calling them "legit users" is kinda not right.

At least teams put effort into earning trophies, buy + play games, they just pool their trophies onto one account

Cheaters just DL the games or rip them, put in their favorite programs, Insta-Ping their virtual rewards and try to attach themselves to legit users and say we also worked hard for ours, which is complete utter bullshit

Well that's what I thought originally too, but apparently not. Look back in the thread. GraveRobber and I were discussing it. Apparently, if you lose out on an item, you get the trophies (bids) back. Of course...it makes absolutely no sense considering the talk about "strategy" of bidding in PlayStation's original blog post. Something doesn't seem right...
