Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

...The one PS+ game I want for all of July and it won't hit until the 29th 30th. Awesome.

SCEE needs to backhand SCEA.

Y'know, if you bought it that one time it was on sale for $4 you wouldn't have this problem. You're still getting a game you want for free. :p

But I agree, SCEE does need to backhand SCEA... but even better, they should hog tie SCEA, toss it in the trunk, and go bury it somewhere in the woods.

It's not true. All you have to do is delete the game bubble, take the game out, put it back into the Vita and let it install a new bubble.

That kills the save data though -- so if you want to lend your card to someone, if the game doesn't have multi-slot save, you might lose your data. I had to install, delete, install when I bought a used copy of MvC3 before I could get DLC and trophies to work.

Fuck fuck fuck.

I got that Persona 4 Golden card from a friend and intended to buy it from him, but at a later point, so I didn't re-initialized at first. I thought I could transfer my save via PlayStation +, but just found out I can't and now have a unusable save 10 hours in the game.

Why is the whole user/property system so contrived on Vitaaaaaaaaaaaaarlhrgqhgr

Guess I'll just start over.

Note: For those wondering what I'm talking about, retail game cards can only be associated to one system, if you use it on another system it still works but you don't get trophies and, as I just found out, can't use cloud saves. Maybe there's more, I'm not sure (no DLC maybe?)
You need to delete and reinstall the bubble.

isn't this the same as on PS3 as well? as you need saves that got created on that system to earn the pointless trophies?

Been playing Silent Hill: BoM after grabbing it on sale with PS+. It's not to bad but the 7.50 price I payed was perfect. Game shouldn't sell for more than 20.

Well yeah, but the way the guy said it was like you buy a used game and you can't get trophies or cloud saves with it. It tells you before you even start the game that you can't earn trophies. Of course, it doesn't tell you how to circumvent that. But yes, you can't earn trophied if your just playing a game that you borrowed from a friend. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, personally.

I wouldn't count on that.

Sony should really announce some official Unity and gamemaker runtime support for the thing. That's the best case scenario gamewise.

I read they won an award from Sony during some indie game design event, the price was hardware support and something else from Sony, the Swapper is a pretty cool game. Was hoping they might think about it especially after I asked them on Twitter hehe. I asked for TWD and we got that so my fingers are crossed.

Unit 13 is pretty fun so far. Just bought Snake Eater as well so I'll be excited to play through that soon.

Just beat Snake Eater damn it was fun. I hope we get a MGS vita game. Kojima said a bunch of shit but I have yet to see or hear anything else except about his Ramen.

Sadly Snake Eater (amazing game) was the last good MGS/Kojima game, MGS4 sucked balls beyond belief and Peace Walker was awful as well, Kojima right now is just talk and riding the memories of his long lost glory days, he lost his touch long ago and it don't seem he know what to do anymore (MGSV look like a mishmash of lots of things with no originality, just someone trying too hard, it is almost like a parody) and at this point I don't want anything from him, gimme Rising portable from PG or Acid 3 or anything that not made by Kojima.

Hey, portable ops was pretty good. Certainly better than that PW crap.

Unity support was already announced for all playstation platforms, including Vita, and PSM, Supposed to be coming later this year. That why shahid is already talking to allot of unity devs.

Damn, Ac!d 3 would be just perfect with Vita's touchscreen. It's such an obvious fit.

Hell, I'd even take Vita compatible remakes or just plain PSP/PSN versions of the first two games in which I put in 100s of hours and collected every card in each.

You know what's really cool about Vita??

In a sense, its a homebrewers console. Anyone can sit down and start creating a game for this thing and I think that speaks 10 times the volume than any lack of AAA ever will....

Wait till Unity gets running on this thing. The floodgates will crash

Ac!d games were fantastic. To bad the general populace bought it thinking it was MGS. Poor reviews and pissed off fans killed the series.

Imagine: Sir, You Are Being Hunted...

What am I supposed to do with this erection now?!

I'm now thinking of a portable MAV.

EDIT: Also, had this discussion on twitter a day ago, but what do people think of the following idea:

Sony Allstars should have been an Awesomenauts-esque 2D MOBA, utilising the individual IPs, themes and mechanics a hell of a lot more intricately than just some brawler?

I certainly would have preferred such a thing.

That's a nice idea!

I certainly hope they don't drop Allstars after one attempt - it was rough and a bit low budget, but a nice idea that could have come off with a bit better support from Sony.

P3P doesn't hold your hand for all that long, from what I recall. Something like an hour if you let all the voice acting rock?

P4G takes more like three hours to take off the training wheels.

Sometimes seeing the amount of port begging in this thread makes me sad =/

Gamescom can't come sooner. We really need a AAA title announcement for the near future. Personally, i am pretty satisfied for this year with games like Dragon's Crown, Tearaway, Killzone: Mercenary and Rayman Legends. But i am still confused on what to expect after these titles.

I'm guessing you've played Soul Sacrifice and MonHUN, Seems like you've played God Eater as well.... how does Toukiden compare gameplay wise? Any similarities or major differences??

Toukiden is really a mix between 3 games you have listed (MH, GE, and SS).

Elements close to Monster hunter:
- Map system
- Character's basic movement (R for dash, X for roll and such)
- Loots are used to fuse weapons and armor
- The time takes to beat bosses (quite long)

Elements close to God Eater:
- Story line actually exists
- NPCs are present with decent (sometimes dumb, though) AI. They are involved to main story line as well
- Combat "pace" is closer to God Eater rather than MH, though it kinda falls in between
- Lock-on system (SS also has this)
- You can save your buddies or buddies can save you once you are beaten (same as above)

Elements close to Soul Sacrifice:
- The lack of carry-on items, so loot will never be used to fuse consumable items
- LOTS of breakable parts on bosses
- "Mind eye" system tells you the bosses's life, along with each parts' health
- "Special move" is available once you charge up your gauge (this will be included to GE2 also I guess)

My simple answer to your question is that other than unique elements not mentioned above (there are lot of them) Toukiden is Monster Hunter with God Eater-like story, with some new elements borrowed from Soul Sacrifice.

If you liked MH or GE then I'd recommend you to play it once it gets localized. However if you choose SS over those two because of ultra-fast paced combat (and missions) then you'd rather stay away from it.

Its kind of expected though, even if we were getting more AAA games people would still want more. People want to be able to play stuff on their preferred platforms, and I absolutely believe games like Bastion, Reus, etc would be great to have on Vita.

Its hard to ask for games that we dont know exsist. Unless your asking for new entries in established franchises like FF, MGS, God of war etc. So people ask for games that they know are good, and already out there. If the game is made, or funded by Sony, MS, or Nintendo then obviously those will never be ported elsewhere.

Jesus Christ. It better be as good as everyone says it is after watching a 3 hour movie.

I must be one of the only people who didn't mind P4G's 3-hour movie introduction. It felt more like 30 minutes to me though.

It wasnt that bad. P3P's felt much longer :p

Edit I'm 13 hours in. I've been fast forwarding a lot of conversation and stuff that doesn't matter. It makes it much more tolerable than p3p. This is especially true when I'm looking to advance the story before going to bed.

Just thought I would let anyone who cares know that Zen will be releasing more starwars themed pinball tables later this year. Damn these pinball games are an investment, but easily both are probably my most played games. Looking forward to that Terminator 2 tables from pinball arcade also.

Starting to replay Disgaea 3 after a bit of a break. What is a good way to jump up HL Mana levels in Chapter 4? I need to start thinking of reincarnating a few people and passing bills to make a bigger classroom...

D'oh. Mixing the two up. I mean mana.

Been on hiatus due to lots of music events, shows, festivals, but I picked up some games lately.

NFS Most Wanted - Plenty of fun, and wonderful playability on the go. Playing with friends is a blast, hours of entertainment in races or just freedrive.

Second, and this is a big one.

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE PORTABLE FOR $23.99 . I had to bold, because this is a STEAL. Like many others, I have been waiting for this game. I searched, and couldn't find any post relating to this. If there is, my bad. I almost started a new topic for this, but then i remember my lowly junior status. But still!! I randomly check the price for this game, and huzzah! It paid off!!! Who knows how much longer it will last.

Get it while it's hot hot HOT!!!!
