A pick up and play title is what I'm looking for and the game is 15 euro, so not even that expensive. I sometimes need a break during the more heavy games like Persona 4 Golden (probably will pick up Soul Sacrifice next) and Playstation All-Stars seems like a nice quick little Brawler to me.

Absolutely. i frequently use if for downtime. One tip, if you're searching for a game and it seems to be taking some time, don't be afraid to routinely hit cancel and start searching again, 9/10 you'll find a game much faster, and once in a blue moon the game can accidentally random you when it has been hanging on searching for a game for a long time.

Oddly enough, having said that, you shouldn't ever have a problem finding a game if you use that trick.

I've really really enjoyed my time with it. It's the best brawler on the market that isn't the best of Smash Bros.

Live gameplay footage of Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate on the Vita.

I love me some metroidvania games, but even with my bias, the action shown here feels way too slow for my taste... what do you guys think?

I'm going to have to agree. It does seem slow, probably because Batman is a heavy character.

I love Guacamelee's gameplay and I don't think I'd have fun playing this one actually.

Dammit, I hate to say it but i may actually be genuinely pissed off at Sony if they allow Nintendo to buy Atlus. I really wish Sony were smarter then they are sometimes, because if anyone at SCEJ whos in charge of picking up studios had any brains they would pony up the dough,It would be worth if for MegaTen alone. Its crazy how damn lazy SCEJ has gotten about pretty much everything.

The only thing that looks oddly slow to me is the combat, especially given how quick it is in the Arkham games.

It looks nice though - and it's nice to see a big title coming to Vita as well.

Funny, how I also just started scratching my HSG itch yesterday quite a bit as well. Have done a ton of SP, wanted to try out MP, but saw all the severs were down at the time.

Has the store been updated with version 1.06 and/or DLC yet?

I think this version enables crossplay with the PS3 version, which should give a nice boost to the online community.

Is this coming from anywhere other than that baseless speculation by an unnamed editor on a site with little credibility?

I dont know, I have seen it on a few different sites now. originally it wad just one, but given that MegaTenIV is exclusive to the 3DS it does not seem like its an impossible thing to occur. It would easily be a boost for anyone who buys them in Japan, so I could see Sony, Nintendo, Namco, and SE all being interested.

Does not really matter though because if any of the three that are not Sony buy them up its just more bad news for Vita lol.

It think it looks great, the speed is consistent with the rest of the Arkham games.
I just hope they keep some of the detective elements that the other games in the series had.

Buy a 16 or 32 GB one.

I got my VITA slightly used for $210 and it came with 16 GB card and two games(Virtua Tennis 4 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma +)

Sure, that's the hope - but a 32gb card is £75 quid and I can't afford that. I'm just gonna have to be really careful with my space for a while. Hopefully by Christmas card prices will have dropped.

Soul Sac is one of the first games that reassured my Vita purchase. I would actually buy a Vita just for this game alone.

Before you buy it, make sure you play the expanded demo on PS Store.... you can even start building up offerings (spells) to carry over to the main game. Some of them are easier to get in the demo than the main game.

I already did that when it first came out and really like it. I loved God Eater, I loved Ragnarok oddysey and I know I will prob love soul sac. Only reason I didnt buy it at launch is because my son was born and time was VERY limited.

Time is still limited but he has something resembling a sleeping pattern now so I might actually have time to play it. Only reason im still on the fence.

Sounds like the same source. Been posted and locked on GAF at least twice, so it's not a credible rumor. And Persona is still their star franchise, with Aniplex (Sony Entertainment) producing the anime. So it's not like they don't have a good releationship with Sony either.

Tecmo Koei buying them would work out pretty well I'd think. To be honest though, I think the buyer is more likely to be some unknown Asian media company with lots of cash and a desire to get into the Japanese games market.

The rumour itself is likely nonsense, I understand that part, I guess sadly it just would not surprise me if Sony let yet another major japanese IP slip away from them. They just dont "seem" to be trying to stay competative in that market though we have not seen really anything on PS4 from the Japanese side.

Vita is the new Kinect!

PS Vita Might Measure Your Heart Rate Thanks to a New Technology Developed by Sony
Today the Game Tools and Middleware Forum 2013 was held in Tokyo and Sony Computer Entertainment Senior Vice President of the Technology Platform Teiji Yutaka held a presentation during which he introduced an interesting technology to monitor the player’s heart rate by using the PS Vita’s camera.

The new and ambitious technology can work in two ways: the first is based on the fact that the color of a person’s face changes slightly depending on his heart rate. The effect is extremely subtle, measuring only 1/100 of a bit in the RGB scale, but a demo has been developed to successfully draw a waveform of the pulse.

The second way is even more clever. Since the front camera of the PS Vita is placed near the buttons on the right, the player can place his finger on top of it and the console can measure his heart rate from the change of light passing through his skin. The variation here is of 2-3 bits, so it’s easier to detect than the other method, but the drawback is that it requires the user to keep his finger on the camera, so the usability is more limited.

Spelunky must be next week then right? They did say it'd be July, didn't they?

I'd love if they brought Cloudberry Kingdom over too.

I'm throwing this out there: Gung Ho should buy them. We'd still get some Vita games then, and honestly I can respect what they're trying to do with all that P&D money.

The ad said July, and they may have thought that it would come out then at one point, but I don't think it's going to. In regards to Cloudberry Kingdom, they haven't said when the Vita version is coming, but hopefully it's soon, and I'm PRAYING that it's Cross-Buy because I preordered the PS3 version on PSN, even though I would rather have the VIta version.

Vita version is perfect, but the game isn't that good.
Its pretty... mediocre.
But playing Kat is a blast.

Pretty much. There were a couple things I noticed that were annoying, but the fact that the camera doesn't zoom out as much was fantastic.
Also meant to commend you for using a real word like mediocre. A lot of the people on the Internet these days would have used some non-word like meh. Kudos.

So it looks like the Vita version will be missing the new Daily Challenge feature of Spelunky? It seems to be a feature exclusive to the PC release, which sucks.

I really want the Vita version, but this does seem like a cool feature for the PC.

Buy both. Even if you bought both at retail, it's $30. Then you could have daily challenge on the PC and portability as well so you can take the game with you.
If you buy the PC one during a steam sale, you could probably get it for 50% off or more.
And you'd be supporting a great indie dev who made a fantastic game.

Platinumed it, found it more fun on vita than ps3. Safe for couch multiplayer

It is more fun on Vita than PS3. Then again, a lot of things are.

I wouldn't expect it before the PLAY promotion is over.

While I agree it probably wont go up until the Play promo is over its not like the play promo has much to do with Vita. The only game available for it through the promotion is Stealth Bastard since Cloud Berry wont be available on the same day.

I really hope we wont be going almost 4 full weeks with anything decent releasing on Vita.

Looks fine to me, but the Metroidvania part seems to be missing... looks more like a 2D platformer in the demo. That guy also apparently has no experience with the freeflow combat system. :lol

This.

Would love to see this on Vita. I want a good dungeon crawler on the system and the Orange Pixel games are consistently quality.

Looks pretty decent. I'd buy it for like $3-4 no more, as that gives off sort of a PSM vibe.

.......whatever that is, its not God Eater. Its.....something else. Something evil.

KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!

The one Vita game I could easily is Platinum is Persona 4 Golden. Hell, I even intended to Platinum it after I had just finished it for the first time. However, I ended up getting distracted by my pile of shame to finish my second-run.

Sweet Jesus! BURN IT!

Easiest platinum ever is resistance. You almost plat it on your first play through. Then its just a matter of loading up the right chapter to kill and few more things and you done.

Gravity rush is a pretty easy but fun to get plat.

Uncharted is doable if you make use of the black market.

Ragnarok I did in 75ish hours with some help from the Near card trading system.

I only plat a game if it looks both reasonably achievable and fun to do. I cant remember If I platted anything else.

I only mentioned P4G as it's a game I really love and has easily achievable trophies that I would inevitably pick up on a 100% completion second-run.
