Lucas/EA register 26+ Star Wars: Attack Squaddrons domains

I have a hunch about what one of EA's Star Wars games might be called.

Earlier this year, Electronic Arts and Disney signed a multi-year agreement for EA to develop Star Wars games and EA is the current registrant of AttackSquadron.com (WHOIS) and AttackSquadron.net (WHOIS), which do not resolve to a web page.

For now, it will have to remain speculation, though considering the number of domains that were registered, Disney seems very interested in protecting this intellectual property.

Here are just some of the domain registrations made under LucasFilm:

attacksquadron.org (WHOIS)
attacksquadron.us (WHOIS)
attacksquadrons.org (WHOIS)
attacksquadrons.net (WHOIS)
attacksquadrons.us (WHOIS)
attacksquads.org (WHOIS)
attacksquads.net (WHOIS)
attacksquads.us (WHOIS)
starwarsattacksquadrons.org (WHOIS)
starwarsattacksquadrons.net (WHOIS)
starwarsattacksquadrons.us (WHOIS)
starwarssquad.org (WHOIS)
starwarssquad.net (WHOIS)
starwarssquad.us (WHOIS)
starwarssquadrons.org (WHOIS)
starwarssquadrons.net (WHOIS)
starwarssquadrons.us (WHOIS)
starwarssquads.org (WHOIS)
starwarssquads.us (WHOIS)
swattacksquadron.org (WHOIS)
swattacksquadron.us (WHOIS)
swattacksquadrons.org (WHOIS)
swattacksquadrons.net (WHOIS)
swattacksquadrons.us (WHOIS)

The names were all registered on July 26, 2013, but none resolve to a web page at the time of this story.

In the past 24 hours, they were moved over from CSC’s domain servers to Disney’s.

Edit: I'm thinking of the wrong game. What was the action game, Republic Commando?

Spiritual successor to Republic Commando would also be acceptable.

Actually...Visceral..."Attack Squadrons"...history of third person shooters...action...

Spiritual successor to these.

Pssh. X-Wing Alliance successor please.

Yeah, but a new X-Wing is up there with Shenmue III in "we've found nirvana" fantasy land.

It would be the most obvious choice.

As would this given Visceral makes co-op third person shooters.

Edit: I'm thinking of the wrong game. What was the action game, Republic Commando?

Yes to either, double yes to both, triple yes to a good Star Wars: Rebellion sequel.

Uggghhh. I would love a new X-Wing but yeah, don't ever expect it to happen.

Upon further analysis, I found this:

Oh no, don't do this to me man. I don't think I can live with rumours of a republic commando sequel/remake only to have them being squashed later on. Hell no. No.

YES PLEASE. Republic Commando is a masterpiece. Though I don't think we'll get it soon either way. One of these days.
