so what's the chances the vita will hit 1m ytd this year in japan? final fantasy should help a lot, right? that's pretty much the biggest game it's ever seen.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Nothing makes me happier in a Media Create thread than to see Level-5 continue to struggle to find even a fraction of the success they did in their glory days. Suck it Hino. Try harder! :p

You forgot to look at Youkai Watch, sir :p

Wow Odin Sphere only sold 100k? I seem to remember that it did 200k. My memory is getting worse than I thought! ._.

You forgot to look at Youkai Watch, sir :p

You think 100k is some sort of success for a Level-5 crossmedia project? Lol!

All charts launch-aligned. All data from Famitsu.
Weekly numbers presented in logarithmic base 1,000 for clarity. In that case, zero units are represented by one unit.

Note, since this draws only from the top 30 it does not represent smaller titles.
e.g., software sales of zero are assumed if the console has no games in the top 30.

Tally of the number of titles for that platform in the top 30 for each week.
Certain weeks may have titles that aren't represented. These are the PS3's 7th and 25th, and the Wii's 4th and 23rd.

Feel free to criticize or point out mistakes.

Aostia

El Capitan Todd
Great start for Ace Attorney5!
Very good numbers also for Dragons' Crown, especially for Vita, that sets a good HW number too.
Solid 3DS sfotware overall, with Mario&Luigi that drops, but not so much, Tomodatchi, AC, Luigi and even DK that hold.
About L5 I think that their policy of re-releases still pays: minimum efforts and decent number for both LBEW and Fantasy Life Link, imho. And Yokai Watch seems really solid, considering that it is a brand new IP and that the cross-media promotion isn't started yet.
Pikmin holds but overall it's negatively affected by a Wii U that obviously isn't hot at all.

Hm.
Are those 3DS numbers exceptionally high or are all the others exceptionally low?

I think the Vita slowly becomes a healthy plattform in japan, tho.
When are FF X/-2 HD and GodEater2 coming out.

If you're comparing with last year...last year, in this week, 3DS XL + NSMB2 came out.

Lego City made top 10! I've not dared to hope that. (happy) There will be a steep drop off next week, but I hope it'll grow a little legs throughout the year.

As a relatively stable follower of this thread series I'd say these numbers look pretty much like business as usual.

Great split with between PS3/Vita for Dragon's Crown. Hoping the Vita is instilling some confidence in Japanese publishers and game developers. It is obviously capable of delivering good sales. Toukiden also just passed 200k physical copies as well.

Code:
[B]FAMITSU HARDWARE SALES (July 22nd, 2013 - July 28th, 2013):[/B]

PS3 - 11,153
[B]WIU - 10,937[/B]

WII - 1,435
360 - 277

Looks like Wii U is going below 10K next week.

It's just the beginning, and the linked media projects haven't started yet! :D

The "beginning" is usually also the "end" for Level-5 sales in general. :p

Their products suck, and no one gives a fuck anymore. The only people even buying their stuff anymore are kids who don't know any better, and even those numbers are drastically reduced. It's over for Hino's scam empire really.

I think Vota can be a healthy platform in Japan if it gets some decent exclusives but I'm pretty sure its unsalvageable in the West.

Whoa, looks like Dragon's Crown sold more on Vita than Grand Knights did on PSP even though the user base is a just a fraction in comparison. And DC was a cross platform release.

Vita doing good for Vanillaware so far.

Fear not, they are working on re-releasing the Layton series as straight ports as we speak.

So what exactly is the story between you and Level-5/Hino :lol

I always assumed that Level-5 were the good guys since they brought us Layton and Inazuma which I enjoyed on the DS, but other than that I don't know that much about them

Level 5 started sucking all the way back when they decided to pander to the yaoi fangirls in Inazuma Eleven. If they kept their core focus at kids or Captain Tsubasa fans, they wouldn't be as bad.

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Level-5 makes turdy and unfun games. They're only pretty.

Heck even Ni no Kuni PS3 wasn't exactly fun (because of the crappy battle system).

Am I really reading this?

Amazing that Kuma Tomo is over 30,000.

No Chibi Devi 2 though:(

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
Great Dragons Crown numbers. Vita looking healthier for 3rd party releases- turned out to be a great move by Sony making cross porting to PS3 so easy.

How much does the Vita sell on a weekly basis in EU and US?

I think that a pricecut, RemotePlay, Gaikai, indielove, Sony 1st party and some key 3rd party IPs(GTA) would be enough to save the Vita in the west.
But I am not sure if Sony cares enough about the Vita to deliver all that.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Inazuma Eleven by all accounts is what I would consider to be fun, I just hate the direction they decided to take with the plot and setting.
