Capcom has burned any good will they ever had away

MeGaMan - now starring a disaffected youth struggling with his sexuality and wields guns he picks up off of the dead kingpins he kills - and he kills them because they murdered his family. 30fps, Unreal Engine, Skrillex and Combichrist soundtrack.

perfection.

No your not and you know it. You’re only kidding yourself.

They gave us Dragon's Dogma....they're okay in my book.

The rare title like Dragon's Dogma is why I'll fight for my right to buy and sell used games. I've done this with EA for quite some time. Both Capcom and Square Enix are getting very close to that same grouping for me.

That was awesome. Tons of announcement.
Imagine what Nintendo could do if they made games for smartphone/browser. Nothing can go wrong.
Something died inside me :(

You made DLC that was already on the disc

You cancelled Mega Man Legends 3.

Bionic Commando. I'm not going to even try and explain that one.

DMC by Ninja Theory?

You take a full generation to make a sequel to a beloved game series and announce Breath of Fire 6 for Smart Phones? It doesn't even look like Breath of Fire.

How could you be so dumb? How could your be so mismanaged that shit like this happens?

I'm done Capcom.

Also add:
DRM for their old titles released on PSN.
Re-re-re-rerelease of most of their fighting games.

Relax guys and focus on the good stuff: off the top of my head, Duck Tales, MonHun 4 and AA5 all look pretty good.

I like BoF as much as the next guy but a few hours ago, we were all living in a world where there would be no more BoF and we were fine with that. Consider nothing has changed. No need for meltdowns.

Anyway, if the online market has shit profitability, they'll turn around eventually and if it is profitable, they'll have been right.

Gems system in SFxTekken as well. They mainly have no idea how to develop titles for a DLC extended lifespan...they either chop the game apart and dont finish titles, lock away aspects of finished titles, or off the kinds of thing as paid only exclusives that antagonize the fans like endings and character balance changing items in fighting games.

They need to stop making lackluster cashgrab sequels and they need to stop telling everyone to love them for trying it constantly. Also they should just learn from their mistakes...if it didn't sell before don't back it for sequels. Lost Planet is a dead weight.Antagonizing fans and releasing antagonistic DLC in an environment where you are not offering complete experiences worth having isn't really good.

As far as I'm concerned, they burned away all the good will I had for them when they made Resident Evil GC exclusive, and abandoned the original fanbase.

How many years away are they from fire selling their IP to stave off creditors?

Which part of the death spiral are we in?
We're close....

Didn't those fuckers turned down working on more Marvel vs Capcom 3?

Somehow they went from being the only japanese company that kept putting out good stuff at the start of the gen to having lost the plot now.

I remember when people would refer to them as "Capgod" on GAF during PS2 era.

Phoenix Wright and Monster Hunter are the only games I look forward from them now.

A bit dramatic don't you think?

Agreed, i know they havent been exactly hitting it out of the park on all of their titles, but we have had some good games this generation from them. Im pretty sore they wont be making a new Darkstalkers, but we still have a new Dragons Dogma coming, an update to Streetfighter IV and some new Phoenix Wright not to mention Monster Hunter on WiiU. Its not all doom and gloom guys ^_^

I wonder how the japanese teams feel about being basically relegated to cellphone and the non-outsourced bits of Resident Evil games. I can picture them remembering the old days of working on Dino Crisis and Demon's Crest while making fucking card games.

Dropping the Vita (though understandable) certainly rustled my jimmies. That said, they're sitting on some great IPs so they aren't dead to me yet.

The promise of a new Dino Crisis that isn't mobile is the only thing keeping me going.
That and the chance they make outbreak HD.

I am fucking done with Capcom. I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD I will never buy another one of their games ever again.

Yeah I got there post the whole MML3 thing. It's not hard considering they mostly output shit these days, and anything that isn't can easily be bought used and returned once I'm done, ensuring they get no money from me. It would be wonderful if Cpacom went under in the next 5 years and Inafune somehow got the rights to make MML3 (after fucking over the fans in his own right, but I digress).

the capcom hate is totally exaggerated.
they still do great stuff....

Well darn, all those wonderful examples you just posted give me little choice but to admit defeat. I can't wait to buy...

remember "Capgod"? it wasn't that long ago. pretty much the only Japanese publisher/developer that was doing well over first half of this generation, now look...

what a twist. It's been straight down hill since Inafune jumped ship, hate him all you want but he was holding the fort at least.

I still remember when Capcom was considered the only Japanese company that was doing good in HD market at the beginning of this gen. They also brought SFIV which helped to raise the FC community. Monster Hunter 2nd ~ 3rd on PSP was my favorite game in the system.

But look at them now. I really think they are becoming worse than Squareenix.

I really enjoyed bionic commando. It was an over the top stupid camp fest that few appreciated. It had great swinging mechanics with an even better multiplayer, and I loved it for that.

Yeah, Capcom is pretty much worthless to me right now. The only game I'd consider getting by them in the future is Resident Evil 7.

Meh, still Capgod to me. They consistently make the games I want to play. Hell looking over their output for this gen I bought 10 Capcom games, not including arcade titles. Still a great dev/publisher imo.

Start of current gen was awesome then iPhone happened.

I think the D.I.N.O crisis was when they revealed DmC. It was quite meta.

Remember me was pretty fun, also quite French.

Nice

Agreed. One of the few outsourced titles I thought was damn good.
Though the reception to it was far to mix.

It's so sad, god, last gen I owned dozens of Capcom games, from Power Stone to DMC3 I was with them every step of the way, so many games I loved

instead of holding onto old customers while seeking new ones they've completely thrown them out, alienated them, they have neither silver nor gold but keep chasing that mythical playerbase

Capcom has been dead to me for years. This is just new sod over an old grave. They really want to make bad decisions.

I really hope the iOS fad ends soon, because this is so much bullshit.

Dead Rising, Street Fighter IV, Mega Man 9-10 and Dragon's Dogma are about the only decent stuff they've done this generation. They've tried pulling off some serious shit with in-game DLC, re-releasing galore, etc but all in all they're in for the money, like everyone else.

But it was the people not buying the game. Sure capcom could have advertised it a little bit more, but even then I wonder if Grin would have survived to give us a BC09-2.

I want my Grin developed BC09-2 damn it!
