While I believe in principal that this should be the case, CBOAT is currently winning by a large margin against everything MS has denied, and even if you do take a grain of salt with what he said about yields for example, you only have to look at MS announcing the drop from releasing in 21 countries to 13, to see an overall picture being painted.
This thread isn't about opinions, its about truthfacts.

things like that...they could have changed these things at ANY time...there was no need to implement them in the first place (except that they were MS' vision for the Xbone)...but in an initial attempt to convince people everything was ok they LIED about how integral these things were to the functioning of the box itself...
as soon as preorder figures started rolling in they hit the panic button big time...

I am pretty sure that MS will release an Xbox without a Kinect, assuming that the PS4 will significantly outsell the Xbox, which I think it will. They flipped all the other stuff, because money, so why wouldn't they cancel this last thing?
Then it will be very interesting.. two 399 systems with minor differences. (However the PS4 is still much more powerful, right?)

opinions are fine, but this is just blind ignorance.
If someone prefers xbox franchises and want to buy an xbox one because of that opinion, then that's fine. But look a few post's up i pointed out a few Microsoft lies there, I probably couldn't point out that many CBOAT misses. Never mind the fact that it's in Microsoft's best interest to stretch the truth but it seems CBOAT doesn't give a fuck if you buy the console either way.

Leaks are inherently bad news. PR isn't going to hide good news, especially for something in a situation like the Xbone's.

We didn't know what the specifications were before Microsoft said they upped it. So when Microsoft turned around and said on a podcast, "WE UPPED IT!" after they had said specifications aren't important and not revealing previous numbers all we can really do is take their word for it.
21 countries isn't a lie. There was no intent to deceive. MS just has a shorter supply of systems coming than they were wanting.

The 'specs don't matter' comment was unfortunate, because it's clearly not what they meant. If it were they would have pulled a Wii and released a box barely more powerful than the 360. Instead they built a box that's in the same ballpark as the PS4. So they clearly do think specs are important. It would have been more sensible to say, 'we don't think that specs are the be-all end-all', which would have both been a reasonable thing to say and true, if the history of consoles is anything to go by.

Weeelll, that is kind of true, but actually if one is to believe what MS officially states, it was a lie! They state that they can't release at 21 countries because they need to "localize" the Xbox. Which, if they were telling the truth, means that they never could release at these countries, thus they lied.
So either they have (it is obvious that this is the case) supply problems and lied about that, or they lied about the 21 countries.
Thing is, even if MS get's outsold from the start with 499$ Kinect Xbox, it could be a real ace in the long run. Everyone has it, developers can/have to implement interestings things (headtracking etc.). But if the drop kinect and make a 399$ SKU , the sales gap will be slim at the beginning but they loose their longterm ace with Kinect which would differentiate them more from the PS4. Everything else will be decided by the games but that will probably be a stalemate with exclusive XY on PS4 side and exclusive XY on Xbox side.

You realise your last point is pure marketing speak and not really a lie. Its like someone from top gear saying a car takes off like a space shuttle, it's not to be taken literally. I think most sensible people knew that from the get go.
News broke of 21->13 1 month ago from polygamia.pl on 26th July, This means the decision was taken before 26th July and so Microsoft lied from between 26th July at least until their official release a few days ago.
that is about 3 weeks of purposefully deceiving customers in those countries int pre ordering something microsoft knew they weren't going to deliver.

But it's been reported that MS will 100 Xbox ones freely available at the show with I assume a variety of games. It makes no sense that the lack of a Video Stream from MS is due problems with an SDK update.

I've never said he was inaccurate. A lot of what he's said has been true, but at the same time, I don't out right reject anything from Microsoft (especially a dev). I just feel like hating Microsoft and Xbox and also thinking all they do is lie to us is absolutely silly.
