The Wonderful 101 |OT| Diplomacy has failed

Wow I think the Operation 005 is one of the best segments of a game ever. So many different play styles, one of the most awesome boss battles I ever played. Overall, this game is a complete blast. Ah and..

In Operation 003 there is
this Roulette in the first Stage, I hit the P* Slot once, but nothing really happened. Do I have to hit it thrice?

I hit P* once and I got a new Hero... I did hit it on my first try, don't know if it matters, though

Entered the charts at #22 in the UK. Not promising, to put it mildly.

INVEST TIME IN PLAYING OR SHARING TIPS.

stating the obvious is a disgrace to the work done to create this game.

what do you expect from a niche genre new IP game on WiiU in the UK theses days???

and tell you friends to buy it on eshop since Nintendo will get a bigger cut on sales, which is good since they paid for it and will eventually have to write off a loss if the game can't reach profitability.

thank you Nintendo. thank you PG.

Sooo, is there a reason why the Pro controller doesn't work in Wonderful missions when playing alone? Guessing because the mode has an MP option but that still doesn't make any sense.

I had my issues with the game in the beginning. Recently I got Wonder Pink and the game is getting more and more epic. There were some scenes with a epicness amount of... over 9000! I suck at the battle system and get bad grades... but hey, it's fun!

How does one even use the treasure sensor? I bought it off the store but I don't see any way to actually use it? Or is it kind of an upgrade and works passively?
Your robot servant starts beeping (with sound effect pics) when you're near a secret. You still have lots of wonder lining / wonder hammering to do yourself though but now it's less haphazard.

Passively. When bought, P-Star will start making a pinging noise when near a hidden item. The faster he pings, the closer to the item. When you've found the spot, bring out the hammer and hit the ground. Tadaaaaaa~

Anyone know how to get through that waterfall at the beginning of operation 4-B, I can see civilians in there but can't find a way through it

Miiverse strikes again:

Look for a red border there on the edges. That should be enough for you to figure out the rest.

Fuuuuccckkk. Thanks for that.

Is there a character location list of W100s yet? I'm still stuck with only 4 yellows and 2 purples at Mission 6. I need my extra skills.

Is there a consistent way to rip armor parts from these guys? I just whip them randomly but it always takes a while before it actually starts doing something.

I finished the game earlier this afternoon, holy hell I still need to gather my thoughts, what a ride that was.
I spent nearly an hour poking around the gallery, the attention to detail in this game is absolutely staggering.

Is there a consistent way to rip armor parts from these guys? I just whip them randomly but it always takes a while before it actually starts doing something.

As I was told in this thread, a bigger unite morph for the whip tears off the armour faster.

I can't quit this thread...

Can someone link me to the best "Let's Play" vids for this? I want to see people who know what they're doing.
Most people on youtube right now are really, really bad. There was one person who was... okay. I can look up his vids again, but he's posting slowly. And I can only link based on how he did up to Operation 2; I'm not watching any further to save myself for the NA release.

That's probably the very reason why, unfortunately.

As I was told in this thread, a bigger unite morph for the whip tears off the armour faster.

To go into more detail, Whip does a certain amount of armor damage that has thresholds. After three or so whip attacks, the whip will automatically grab the enemy and rip off the amount of armor equal to the amount of thresholds you reached. So with a bigger whip you'll hit three or so times with it, grab a piece of the enemy, and rip off five pieces along with it.

The biggest issue I have with this game so far is that it throws too much new vital information at you in the span of seconds

I'm a few hours in and still try to figure this and that out - of course I like the challenge, but game feels sometimes really frustrating

Anyone able to get the hero on top of the first statue you come across in mission 05-A, making a ladder doesn't work and using the rocket doesn't get you high enough. If you use the rocket you'll just be able to catch a glimpse of the hero and one of those boxes that requires a certain hero's ability to open up there. If you have an attempt at this it's best if you try to rocket up on the other side of the statue as it seems to let you blast higher up on that side.

http://i.minus.com/jMQm411IzTSiP.JPG Rocket attempt at blasting up there, you can just about see a hero there next to the chair and table, and a box up there.

EDIT: Never mind, just got up there :p. Could have sworn it wasn't letting me do wonderful rising after the rocket the first few times

This game belongs in the top 3 of the best games ever with a metascore of 80%. It's hardly believable and understandable of how good it is. I'll need a second if not a third run.

So how does TW101 compare to the original Viewtiful Joe?

Well, Viewtiful Joe is a 2D comic book while W101 is a 3D action flick. I mean not just literally, but in every sense. It just ups the level a 100 times. You can't really compare the games even though it has the same fun action-feeling. Comparisons stop there I guess.

Also while Viewtiful Joe was hard (especially towards the end), the fighting wasn't anywere near as deep as in W101.

Quick question for anyone who's been able to get the 5 platinum coins on any stage. For a while now on most stages i'm always getting 4/5 platinum coins, feels like i've searched the entire map over and can never find a full 5. Is there definitely a 5th platinum coin in a stage, or do you have to get all platinum trophies for each mission on a stage to get it or something???

There is definitely a 5th Platinum coin. I've found 5 in one or two stages.

These boss battles are getting better and better, bigger and more epic as the game goes on. Operation 003's was fantastic! With the introduction of
Wonder White
in 004, the levels and 'puzzles' have also just continued to grow. Cannot believe how great this game is. Was expecting big things, but not this big!

So I'm going to assume that Bomb should always be used as a multi-unite/support skill as opposed to being your main means of attack. I'm not finding as much use for it as I hoped I would.

Oh, and how do you deal with spike attacks etc that go through your Guts? I bought the upgrade that boosts it by giving spiky protectors but I find it only works on certain attacks. I had to outright dodge a few unites that Vorkken did against me cause I couldn't possibly reflect them.

There are unblockable attacks in this game from the first operation. Just dodge. I'm guessing the spike upgrade for Guts just allows it to do damage when it blocks a melee attack.

Ah, right then. I just got the sense that a lot of the time, I'd drain battery incredibly fast during fights against Vorkken due to dodging some of his unblockables that mirror your own unites. Ought to strategize more it seems.

In the first fight with him, you can block his attacks that mirror Red, Blue (I think), and Green at least.
