This rumor is coming from 2ch about Namco's new arcade hardware called System 478 (Tekken Tag 2 is on system 369). The 2ch post talks about the hardware being made and that Tekken 7 and a new Gundam VS game will be on the new hardware. The post says the news is from Namco New Product Business Meeting (which is happening August 28th-29th)

Here is the post from 2ch if anybody wants to translate.

パンダイナムコゲームス新商品商談会

I would say I hope it's not so juggle focused and brought back the different environments, but who am I kidding. I'll still buy it anyway.

Seems pretty obvious.

"So are nextgen fighting games going to get their asses kicked in the graphics department by TPSes again?"

So long as they're aiming for a perfect solid 60fps and not a sketchy-not-really-30fps like TPSes, yes, they will.

Arcade hardware? Nostalgia overload.
I miss seeing new arcade machines with mindblowing graphics.

I remember during the psx days that the incredible image quality and unbelievably smooth 60 fps framerate of these things always blew me away.

Looking forward to a next-gen Gundam VS

Looking forward to the PS3/PS4 port.

I could dream but I would really love for it to come to the Vita but I have a feeling it won't happen.

Been awhile since a versus title hit the handhelds.

Hey, I just want some actual news to appear already. All we had was the concept art of Ryu and Chun-Li, Ryu model, Ken (Heihachi) video tease/demonstration. /: Which was a long time ago.

I hear you bro. Just don't lose hope because details of a main series, on an entirely different system, were leaked.

Harada has been a man of his word so far. No reason to write it off.

So are nextgen fighting games going to get their asses kicked in the graphics department by TPSes again?

So long as TPSes aim for 30fps or lower and fighters continue to maintain 60fps, probably.

Seems pretty obvious.

Whens mahve... Uuuuh I mean Full Boost.

Is this based on PS4, like previous Namco arcade systems?

well I cant confirm it for sure but system 2xx board were ps2 based and system 3xx boards were ps3 based so then it's fairly safe to assume system 4xx boards are ps4 based

guess we'll get Full Boost to finish off this gen then have that to look forward to

Damn. Wasn't the case during the PS2 years, IIRC. :(

Guess I'll have to get ready to pay some outrageous price again once the console version of Gundam VS is out...

Aww yeah. Tekken is probably my favorite fighting game, and I'm dying to see a realistically styled (graphics wise [for the most part]) fighting game on next gen. Plus, Xbox has Killer Instinct coming. It'd be nice to know that Tekken 7 is at least on the way.

I think it is obvious that Tekken 7 would be on new hardware and most likely for next generation at some point, but unfortunately, I don't think we will see it materialize until 2016-2017 at the earliest generously speaking if Tekken X SF is still actually coming out. Screw the arcades though, I rather have Tekken 7 at home first instead of having to wait 1 to 2 years for the home version.

I didn't enjoy watching Tekken Tag 2 YouTube videos for 2 years until it actually came out.
