This morning in Tokyo (starting at 11:00pm tonight, Pacific Time), Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia is holding a press conference to make some announcements of interest to Japanese gamers. The presentation is tailored specifically for the Japan and Asian regions, and much of the news here will not necessarily be relevant for North American gamers. Nonetheless, we’re happy to host a livestream of the event here in case you wanted a glimpse into what’s next for PlayStation fans in the East.

I'm including this next quote because I keep hearing people say "It's just the Asian release date."

While I think expectations are always too high for these things (from myself included), I highly doubt this is just an Asian release date.

That will be a part of it, of course. But according to Nico Nico's schedule, this thing is an hour long. It doesn't take an hour to announce the release date.

Then you have Toshihiro Nagoshi saying we'll have an update on Yakuza: Ishin, the new Yakuza game with a still unannounced platform, on the same day as the conference. And it was said before that we'd get the platform announcement prior to TGS.

Point is, it'll be more than a release date. Unless, like, they speak reallllly reallllly slowly.

Also, they're broadcasting this on western PlayStation sites, as well. Which would lead one to believe the English translation isn't just for English-speaking Asian territories. So there's that, too.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Would be a good idea for us to have the press conference going in the office tomorrow...

The fact that they have this in English leads me to believe there will be some interesting announcements from this conference. :O

Was there an English stream for the NGP reveal? I recall the GameSpot version with that awful narration.

helped a brotha out on multiple separate occasions!
Wait, what is this?
They've said they're gonna announce the JP PS4 launch date during the conference. They're also live streaming a translated stream so we'll probably get some game announcements/the JP launch titles.

Will this be a crushing disappointment?

I'll define "crushing disappointment" as pretty much just showing Yakuza, announcing the PS4 launch date, announcing the obligatory Hot Shots Golf, and giving Namco and Koei a platform to show off their requisite Playstation launch titles.

And is a new Ape Escape too much to ask for?

Ape Escape I can see making a comeback this generation. Cerny really wants to see this renaissance happen.

That's actually realistic, bordering on optimistic.

I had no idea there was another Press Conference. Is there anything cool to expect? Or are we going in fresh for this one.
