Multitasking = awesome.
UI design = meh. Just Windows 8 metro tiles. Most are just plain green squares.

Wow. So basically he's the kid of an employee who has the system for home testing? He's gonna be in so much shit.

I really don't like the way the cutscenes keep going when you press the guide. When I access the guide, it's because I want to do other things for a second, and then go back to the game. Weird.

Yeah that is one of those things where sometimes you want it to pause and sometimes you don't, but in general I like when it's consistent. I'd prefer a universal pause for the guide button since that way I know it will never skip cutscenes (That's a requirement I believe on 360). Leaked console state stuff from Kotaku a while back acted as if it would pause the game. Could just be early I guess.

They should have used the blades:

Oh, and here comes the nostalgia...

I don't mind Metro, but it's much better as a touch interface. Navigating it with a stick will be a pain, and I don't want the NSA spying on me with Kinect ;-)

Sure. But hasn't metro been pretty reviled outside of a phone environment? (And even there, Windows Phone has been a substantial loss for MS, so it isn't exactly popular.) I expected them to vary the design language and move toward something new/better, or at least unique for Xbox.

Yeah, personally I'm not a massive fan of Metro, it started to look dated soon after it first came out. I like 'flat design' but Metro is a bit too clinical for my tastes.

RIP leaker.

The Dashboard looks pretty basic, but I've never been a fan of the metro look.

I prefer the look of the blades personally.

I miss the blades. It was simple and perfect. I really dislike MS' mentality of changing for the sake of changing. The PS3's dashboard stayed the same (for the most part) for the duration of its lifecycle and it was fine. The blades made sense to me. Oh well...

It uses the same basic UX and aesthetics as the current dashboard, just with more customization and a flat background. I don't see where all the ire is coming from, personally.

Says who? People dont like it on Desktop but thats not because the metro UI is bad, people just want the old start screen.

They wanna have the same looking UI across all their devices they just moved everything to metro its not gonna change again. Metro is here to stay for a long while.

W8 user here: I dislike Metro. Hopefully they made some tweaks to help the navigation using controllers/ made kinect easier to use. Voice navigation throughout the entire thing will be nice.

Also, I hope there's an option to make the game pause when you press the home button.

Meh. Looks kind of bland and too similar to the 360 dashboard (even though I know they want to have continuity between products through the use of Metro).

In getting a new generation product, I kind of want the UI to look like a new experience.

Also, not really sure why anyone would want the game to continue playing while you're browsing through different menus.

I doubt games will load that quickly. That was probably pulling it from suspend.

Suspending from everything we have seen so far either has the game still playing in the background or a frozen shot from when you suspended it. The game had generic art on the dashboard. Plus the title screen.

Ui looks really meh. But that Ryse demo pulled up really quickly. I wonder if the game was in a sleep state before he started it.

That kid is screwed.

How do you know it's not a controlled leak? Showed off a bit of multitasking and then the intro of Ryse which we've already seen (used to demonstrate the speed of multitasking).

We didn't really see anything Microsoft wouldn't want us to see or that makes their system look bad.

Does this guy know how stupid he is for showing his face and having his full name as his account name or does he just not give a shit?

Anyway, the thing I was most impressed by was how snappy that looked. Very quick going from the menu into the game and back.

I like the fact that opening the menu in game minimises it and makes it part of the menu, but I sort of wish the game would have automatically paused - but I guess it'll be up to the game like how it was with opening up the XMB and Dashboards ingame from this generation.

Visually the UI looks clean, but a tad boring. Doesn't look bad but I'm not a huge fan of the look, honestly.

LOVE it. especially that you can go into the dash while still in game.

I love the speed of jumping into the game, I like the look and feel overall, but I'm baffled as to why the cutscene keeps playing as you browse the dash. Surely there's an option to avoid that.

Intentional leak by MS to garner X1 support.

why would he possibly call his youtube vid "XBOX ONE DASHBOARD LEAK"?
I honestly refuse to believe that people can be that stupid ...
please don't be that stupid!
