Horrible sales all around! it's kinda sad but I'm actually surprised Vita did that much :D

Wiiu gonna WiiU. Nothing much else to say.

Yeah. The one advantage the Vita seems to have is a dedicated fanbase, so software sales aren't as godawful as you'd expect considering how poorly the system is selling. The WiiU doesn't appear to have a shot at tackling that problem, at least not when it comes to most 3rd party software.

most third party software, but support for the machine's been awful. lego city and monster hunter have both sold relatively well, and both were the biggest games since the console's launch until pikmin 3. scribblenauts, rayman, and sonic will be the ones to look out for, and that's the userbase that will be built on the wii: family games and kid-friendly titles.

Wasn't its 1st month more than Nocturne's LTD?

heh. yeah. didn't even need to check.

NPD has shitted things up so badly that I can't vouch for the accuracy of this year's or last year's numbers, but they should be close enough for some comparisons, anyway.

That's an amazing debut for Tales of Xillia, it debuted on par with Ni no Kuni and hopefully this means we'll get Zestoria too.

True. Particularly, having Sonic Lost World exclusive is definitely a boon for the WiiU (not counting the 3DS version)

I didn't say there was a decline in sales, but rather a decline in the chance there will be some PS3 or 3DS-esque turn around. On the sales end, both Wii U and Vita have been steadily selling at a horrible rate. I'm hoping they can turn it around as a Nintendo fan but each month that goes by it becomes more and more clear that this will be a bad situation this generation and it's not just a launch period situation.

oh yeah. it's going to be a long generation for nintendo.

or maybe a short one!

I'm just hoping we get some crazy new games from Nintendo once they realize that sending out similar sequels isn't going to turn around the console (assuming this holiday doesn't change things).

doubtful. they'll take less risks, not more. they took lots of risks with the wii and ds because they were new systems, and later on in their lives because they had the freedom to do so.

Thank you good sir! Relative to the userbase, the splinter cell sku performed relatively just as terribly as the others. Slightly worse than 360, slightly better than ps3.
The problem is that third parties don't care about sales being "relative to the userbase". They care about sales and money made per sku. If one sku isn't going to profitable to port to, they just won't port to it. That's the sort of situation the Wii U is looking at.

Well either way, this Splinter Cell isn't going to be a profitable game no matter the platform.

Yeah, I was just hoping. If their games released over the past 2 years and their future line-up are any sign, they'll be sticking to their guns (Mario, Zelda, DKC, Pokémon) for the foreseeable future.

gameplay enhancements

new lighting effects

graphical upgrades..(bloom)

it is much more than a port

No doubt, but I don't think this game will make its money back in general

Wouldn't PSV be like 30K or something going by what creamsugar posted?
PSV almost outsold than Wii U, try next month please.
Wii U is better than last month.
3DS > 130K

I remember Jade Raymond saying that 5 million would be a successful number.

Good luck with that jade... :(
Only point I was making was that it sold pretty well equally terribly across userbases (ie shame on everyone). It wasnt extremely lopsided in comparison. Decent game, even with some frustrations - and I wasn't even an SC fan prior to picking it up.

I have seen plenty of people thinking that actually. They have a bundle too iirc. So it can definitely move units..question is how many units

Well yea its a bundle, i thought they meant with out it. its just an extra reason to get the system, if it was any game the same thing applies.

Is Sony marketing KZ Merc? I mean they definitely should..game looks ace. But I haven't seen any commercials yet

Sony marketing?

This is Sony we're talking about. If I didn't look up gaming-related things on the internet, I would still not know the Vita exists.

Well nobody seems to want to mention it, but Disney Infinity selling 48k or so on Wii U with 16% is pretty good... would suggest the right kind of third party games can sell on it.

The problem with people's reaction to Wind Waker HD's graphics is that they don't actually remember what the original game looked like. Like, what it actually looked like.

Yeah, that's the beauty of the HD re-releases. They look like the original games do in our memories.

I don't think you know the definition of the word port.

Because games ported between generations tend not to have graphical enhancements do they?

It's a remake, not a simple port. Seems to be of similar ambition as ocarina 3d

His reply was to someone who someone who couldnt see how WWHD is going to help the WiiUs situation. It is an Enhanced port. A remake is something like Halo anniversary and that wasnt a system seller either.

Doesn't matter, as a $60 game releasing in 2013 it looks incredibly bad. As $29 game, it looks good.

It's 50 bucks and has more content than many modern games (and more redone than many HD remakes). Yes it carries that price premium because it is zelda and a remake, and not new play control pikmin port, but it is how it is. Update your trolling points.

I don't think there are many 3rd parties making $100 million dollar games using billion dollar children's IP with a $100 million marketing budget in the pipe unfortunately.
